News From Stotfold
Judo Club
Stotfold Judo managed to safely negotiate the covid pandemic and we are now back to our normal sessions at The Pendleton Centre.
We are amazingly proud of our Judoka who have thrown themselves into competitions and what amazing success the club have had. London International, Robbie Young and Hari Crowley though they fought well, did not medal, however Jay Crowley won Silver.
The next event was the Moberly Stars, Harrison Barstow again fought well but did not medal, Robbie Young won silver, Hari Crowley won gold, Jay Crowley won bronze. The next competition was the BJC nationals a prestigious event.
Hari Crowley won gold (National Champion), Shaina Rickman won gold (National Champion), Jay Crowley won silver, Nisha Rickman won silver, Lewis Dixon won Bronze and Robbie Young won bronze. We also had two seniors, Laura Beech, her first competition as a senior, won silver and Vlad Gidukovs also won silver. It was an amazing number of entries for this National event and the club were so proud that they all medalled! And finally Jay Crowley did the club proud attending the BJA Nationals the standard of judo here is very high and Jay fought amazingly well, he had two really close fights, but unfortunately did not medal, however it was a huge experience for him. A knowledge of the EYFS and being a keyworker is an advantage. Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm term time with the opportunity to work in our holiday club during school holidays.
