Preparing for the unexpected Fiona Bolt, director of Cameron Jones Financial Management, talks to us about supporting businesses in difficult times

T

he financial services sector has found itself busy during the pandemic, with accountants and financial advisors in particular providing muchneeded support to their business and private clients. Fiona Bolt, sponsor of the 2020 Successful Women Reinvention Award, and her team worked hard throughout lockdown to make sure their clients and local community in Exmouth had all the advice they needed. Fiona says: “I think this experience has shown us how important it is to create a plan, which can be reviewed and adapted, if necessary, to protect our financial situation. Life does sometimes throw up lemons and being prepared financially can reduce stress when facing times like this. I am so pleased that I’ve been able to support so many clients during such an unprecedented time.”

This could be the transition into retirement where Cash Flow modelling can be used to show monies will never run out, or helping elderly clients and their families explore options for paying for care. She says: “I’m all about working with my clients to help them find their financial freedom. Helping them to make choices to bring their goals and dreams to reality is immensely satisfying.
