Greenville SC Star Chapter June Ride By: Bill Gallaway
Star Touring and Riding Greenville, SC Chapter 352 invaded Georgia for their monthly ride. It had been a while with the coronavirus “stay home” orders putting a stop to our rides as well as a record of over 20” rainfall, for the month of May; so needless to say, we were ready to get out. Our ride on June 13th took us to the Suches Loop. Some call it the Georgia tail of the dragon. We met in Seneca, SC at 8:15 a.m. and after coffee, snacks and gas, had kickstands up at 8:45 a.m. There were 6 bikes, 9 riders and 2 in a cage. It was a beautiful spring day with sunshine and temperatures in the 70’s to low 80’s. We weren’t the only ones with the same idea because when we arrived at Two Wheels of Suches there was close to a hundred riders already enjoying their ride and lunch. Two Wheels of Suches, aka, Two Wheels Only, is a great stop for a burger or sandwich and onion rings or fries. Even with the crowd of bikers there when we arrived, we ordered and had our lunches within 15 minutes. he
The ride home was pretty much the same after completing the loop. Next month a ride to Waynesville, NC is planned. We will see if our plans work out. For more information go to www.facebook.com/startouring.
