What Are You Thankful For? Thankful for? Have you really thought about it? We may take it for granted when we get up of a morning and put our clothes on, or even flip a switch and the lights come on. We take our warm home for granted and the food we eat. There are a lot of good people that are homeless. Some are homeless because they want to be, some because of bad choices, but whatever the situation is, we all must remember that we are all God’s children and we must help each other. Whether we live in a nice fancy house, in our car, or the woods, we all have something to be thankful for. I’m thankful for my home, family and friends. I’m thankful the Lord wakes me up every morning to go and do the things I want to do. Do you remember the story of Lazarus and the rich man? The rich man passed Lazarus every day, and never offered him any help or food. After death, it seems the position of Lazarus and rich man changed. When Lazarus died he went to be in Paradise and the rich man went to Hell. The rich man was in torment and in thirst amidst the flames of fire. Proverbs 14: 31 Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors Him. Deuteronomy 15: 11. For there will never cease to be poor in the land, Therefore I command you, You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and the poor, in your hat are you really
land. We never know when we might hit hard times and need help ourselves. We all just need to put our trust in the Lord. Philippines 4: 9 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. If the Lord lays someone on your heart to help, you need to help that person. I’m not saying everyone you see standing on the street corner needs help or they are just trying to pull one over on you. Just stop and pray and ask the Lord if you’re supposed to help them and He will let you know.
