FEATURE It's because I as a moviegoer love romantic comedies, those are some of my favourite movies of all time. When Harry Met Sally or Prelude to a Kiss or any of other movies with Meg Ryan or Julia Roberts – these are the movies I grew up on in a way and I love them so much. And, yes, it is kind of homecoming for me because I haven't done one in a few years and this year I'll have two of them coming out. This one – Marry Me – and then Shotgun Wedding will be out at some point. I did it with Josh Duhamel. So, I'm excited to be able to do a couple for sure, I love it.

Is there a certain element in a romantic comedy script that makes you say ‘I want to do this’? Specifically? I don’t know. I think it's hard to reinvent it every time. How do you make it different? We kind of always know that two people are going to wind up together and that's going to be the end of the story. So, what is really interesting is the journey and the interaction between the two characters – if that's written well that's what makes me want to do it. The movie has amazing fashion … do you have a favourite outfit in it? Oh my God! Again! There were so many great outfits in that movie. Let me just think for a second because I haven't seen it in a few months … Obviously, the wedding dress by Zuhair Mourad. It was a knockout. Maybe very uncomfortable to wear for the four days that we shot … it was so tight on me. I loved the Lapointe outfit, kind of coral coloured pants and sweater and cap. I wore it performing On My Way. I thought that was a beautiful setting and kind of a moment in the movie where she comes into her own with the music and has written a song from this journey that she had into her real life. And you really feel her power of arriving somewhere new in her life because of this love that she has for this person. The pressure of social media is important in the film … Right, that's a very real thing today. It used to be just a tabloid or the press and now it's social media as well which can be even more anxiety provoking for people in the public eye. I think that's what's also makes this movie a little bit more modern is that you have that element in it. What’s it like to have a heartbreak and a huge embarrassment in front of the world now? Now it travels so quickly. The story is going come out. Somebody’s going to see it, they're going to get it on camera, they're going to talk about it, they're going to share it. Navigating that as a person in the public eye can be tricky, especially when difficult things happen in your life like Kat suffers in the beginning of this movie, which I don't wish on anybody.
