We all have our moments of doubt, insecurity, and self-sabotage. It can be hard to get out of this negative headspace and easy to internalize our criticisms But if we want to truly move forward, we need to learn to believe in ourselves

Believing in yourself isn’t just a simple “think happy thoughts” kind of mantra True self-belief takes time, effort, and energy to access what’s within you and to cast aside all the moments of self-doubt It is about using your inner strength and courage to stand firm in who you are and what you know you ’ re capable of.

A great place to start is to understand that you are unique and have value Individuals have diverse perspectives and unique experiences that, when given the chance to shine, can have a huge impact on the life of others or in the workplace Focus on what you have to offer and how you can make a difference

The next step is to allow yourself to make mistakes No one is perfect, and trying to be can be incredibly difficult, if not unhealthy Making mistakes is inevitable, but they can be used as a chance to reflect and grow We all have moments of weakness; the key is to learn to forgive ourselves and move on

Finally, it’s worth taking some time out of your day to gain perspective on what matters One of the best ways to gain perspective is to clear away the doubt and become aware of what other people see in you the good and the bad Speak and interact with those who know your worth and are determined to help you have faith in yourself

Believing in yourself is contingent upon your ability to recognize your inborn power and work to unlock it. All the confidence you need is within you, and it can be accessed through all sorts of activities that make you trust in yourself and your abilities With time, you will unlock your inner power and achieve whatever you put your mind to Stay Pretty!

Everyone loves a great vacation, and sometimes depending on how busy you are; you may forget to take one. Life tends to take over, especially when you’re an entrepreneur. You never sit down to find the time to plan your next trip or decide where you’ve always wanted to go visit. Most people do not even know what the rest of the world looks like because they have never traveled outside of the United States in their lifetime. Being someone who has had the opportunity to visit outside of our wonderful country, I advise everyone to travel and see what the world truly has to offer.

Sometimes it can be a little scary to take that big leap and plan a trip. There are so many things that could be going through your head like, “Do I need a travel agent? Are solo trips any fun? How many days should I stay? Can I afford this trip? How can I take time away from work? Where should I travel to?” All of those are questions the average person asks themselves before planning a trip. There are so many factors that come into play. If you are a mother, you must decide if you’re taking your child(ren) with you or need to find a sitter. All of this can cause you to just cancel the idea of traveling, and then you’re back where you started.

Out of all the wonderful places to travel to and tour, below are my top 10 places to see in your lifetime. Some of these locations may be overseas, and others may be in the United States.

Regardless of where you travel to, make sure to enjoy yourself and have fun. Life is what we make it, and it is shorter than we sometimes believe. We must take a moment to relax and enjoy what the world has to offer. Taking a break to mentally prepare ourselves for what’s to come for us. Enjoy life, enjoy yourself, and enjoy what beautiful places are around the world.

If you could use five words to describe yourself outside of ministry and entrepreneurship, what would they be and why?

Creative - I love to see the possibilities that exist. I am always pushing the envelope to grow how we live

Analytical - I am an engineer hiding behind bright colors and spontaneity

Outgoing - I am that person that will speak to everyone on the elevator. I get the most joy when surrounded by people

Compassionate - I am a champion for the underdog. I do not like to see people mistreated, and I will stand up for those who are not able to stand up for themselves

Random - I am so in the moment. I am good at handling emergencies I plan because it is necessary, but I prefer to freestyle

I had to pray to make sure I was on the right path.

When did you develop your passion for helping women of God find and soar in their identity?

I have always loved helping others I taught my first Bible study in my backyard in 5th grade I experienced so many challenges, betrayals, and rejections in life. The pain and frustration of them led me to want to help others avoid and overcome them I am passionate about helping women walk in their power and gifts.

You are the Pastor of Living Water Church International. How do you balance entrepreneurship and leading a congregation?

I had quite a few challenges because the pastor’s heart will do everything for free. It was hard to branch into business and charge for anything I had to pray to make sure I was on the right path God gave me an org chart with clear lines of what falls into free ministry and paid ministry service The other challenge is time I need lots of time to study and prepare for sermons I also need time to show up on social media for ministry and business One thing I do is maximize Saturdays I use a time management system

Tell us about your organization “Eklectos House, LLC”?

The name of my company is based on 1Peter 2:9 - But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light Eklectos is the Greek word for chosen It is a reminder that I am chosen to serve chosen people. We are all chosen, and we must define our calling according to God’s will I want to run a ministry-based business that includes coaching, consulting, publishing, books, and speaking.

What has been your greatest achievement thus far?

My greatest achievement is as a wife and mother I have a beautiful family and love watching my two sons blossom on their life paths. Also, I am very proud of the inner work that I have done over the last 3 years to evolve into a better version of myself

What obstacles have you had to face in your entrepreneurship journey?

The three obstacles I have overcome are mindset, mastery, and execution I knew that I was called to be a pastorpreneur, speaker, and writer, and I felt I was not qualified to do what I needed This is hilarious because I have the experience, qualifications, and heart for the area I am called to. Until I worked through those mindset issues, I could not blossom Once I accepted my own awesomeness, there were some technical aspects of running a business that I had to master I have worked with multiple coaches: Dr Tracy Timberlake, Dr Kristen Guillory, Evelyn Weiss, Dr. Cheryl Polote-Williamson, and Angelica Duncan. Each of these awesome ladies has tremendous gifts, and they have generously poured into me

Ultimately, I had to resolve to be successful and take the necessary action to do so

Tell us about your “Summer Spirit Saturation Conference.” What can women expect when attending?

Summer Spirit Saturation is a 30-day program I run in the summer It is a way to stay spiritually connected during a time of year when people are busy on vacation Sometimes, we fall back on our connection Women who attend the next cohort will focus on soaking in God’s presence to clarify their life questions

Where do you hope to see your platform in the next 3-5 years?

In 5 years, I would like to have reached 1 million women and helped them break free from any chains that keep them from living their ignited life Specifically, I want to see more women pastors, preachers, ministers, writers, and CEOs. I want to be the sought-after expert who helps women birth their dreams

My definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles is a woman who recognizes her value and is open to growing She takes the steps to do the work to achieve her dreams She prioritizes rest and self-care

What inspired the Diva Hair Box? When did you realize there was a need for a box like this?

I was inspired to create the world’s first hair weave subscription company after I went into several different beauty supply stores, and all of my experiences were the same. I experienced poor customer service, racial profiling, and a lack of knowledge whenever a question about hair or hair products was asked After traveling and needing to frequent other beauty supply stores in other states and countries, I found that this treatment was a pattern I also found that many beauty supply stores were owned and operated by Koreans. However, they were located and served in predominantly black communities

Through experiences and research, I became aware of racial monopolies, racial profiling, and the lack of knowledge in the beauty supply industry, specifically Korean-owned beauty supply stores. If not for me, I needed to find a solution to this problem for my community Now, I have nothing against Koreans and their entrepreneurial spirit However, I have an issue with being stereotyped, having bad customer service, lacking knowledge concerning hair/ hair products, being ignored, being followed, being rushed, and/or being faced with a “hurry up and buy” mentality After sharing my experiences and hearing that others shared the same experience, I knew I needed to create a hair company that delivers high-quality customer service, is knowledgeable concerning hair/hair products, offers shipping convenience, and offers discounts and exclusive rewards to its clients.

After all, it’s our hair! I felt there was a major area left uncovered: supplying hair products, the added hair, the accessories, and even hair trends This is why Diva Hair Box was created Diva hair box fills these voids and creates a community where novices and experts can come together to learn, grow, and feel supported with their hair journey

What obstacles have you had to overcome to get your brand where it is today?

There are many obstacles an individual must overcome when creating anything new With this in mind, I knew it was imperative to keep going and overcome the many obstacles I faced My biggest challenge was the challenge of ME (my inner self), the challenge of depression, not having all the answers, not knowing which way to go, and the challenge of completing a patent for Diva Hair Box on my own I can list many challenges, but giving up wasn’t an option, not when my community depended on it

My definition of a pretty woman who hustles is not dependent upon a woman ’ s physical attributes, but it is dependent upon her character A pretty woman who hustles is someone who is beautiful on the inside and the outside, a woman who is kind, gracious, and compassionate, a woman who is a leader, a visionary, and a boss A woman who is unafraid to go after her dreams and conquer her fears A woman who gets out of bed, even when she doesn’t feel like it A woman who stands when all else has failed, a woman with tenacity, hunger, and pride, a business mind, and a provider A woman who understands the hustle isn’t just for her but for the pride that follows To me, this is the epitome of a pretty woman who hustles

Can you reflect back on your childhood and recall the moment you fell in love with reading and sharing stories?

My mom, Grandma “T,” and I were at the mercy of a cruel and toxic family life Our blood relatives that we grew up and around were not kind They were mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially abusive As a child, I started writing to escape my reality and would flee to a world of whatever my imagination created I wrote poems, stories, tv show sitcoms, songs, and jingles for commercials – I wrote any and everything I wrote on napkins, loose-leaf paper, cards, journals, and such I remember writing on my bedroom wall once because I just had to get a story out of my head My mom would notice the writing and buy me a series of little girl books to read when I was younger to help offset the writing and give my hands a break Reading only fueled my world of escape even more

I’m sure you have been influenced by many throughout your career Who would you tribute your passion and love for writing to?

My mom and Grandma “T” have been such positive influences in my upbringing Their support for my youthful writing made my confidence grow and enhanced my reading and writing skills This boost of confidence allowed me to verbally express myself as an adult and stand as the Queen I am called to be They taught me many lessons, such as your word is all you have in life Money, friends, and status will go but keep your word because people will remember that most They also taught me to never leave the house without my hair looking good or at least presentable because you never know who you will see. LOL. Both have been such true sayings in my life and career You may not be able to please all the people all the time, but when people trust you, that is infinite – it lasts forever and leaves a legacy Plus, having a good “do (aka hairstyle) never hurts

You are an international best-selling author and CEO. How do you balance the demand of both career paths? Great question! My mom asks me the same thing LOL She also asks when do I sleep? Believe it or not, I work a full-time job in the Insurance Industry as well as the CEO and Founder of a community program called International HOPE Inc, which locally and internationally provides food, basic needs, and necessities for veterans, the elderly, the youth, the homeless, the less fortunate, the forgotten ones and everyone in between I am the CEO and Founder of The Crown And Cross Consulting And Publishing Co LLC, a consulting and publishing co (I ask people to check out our website for a full list of our services) I wear many hats in ministry, such as a Prophetess, ordained Pastor, Mentor, Consultant, and more, but the most important badge of honor position I wear in ministry is called servant Balance can sometimes be distorted, but you must find it and take time out for yourself too

The Crown And Cross Consulting And Publishing Co LLC is the ministry God entrusted me with to help His people with their dreams of becoming a writer and being published It started in December 2020 with one author and has grown since then to thirteen authors and counting (three more are being added as we speak) I have been hired for consultant work for a Judge and his re-election campaign, provided other 501c3s with paperwork completion, and assisted numerous clients with their time management, resume building, websites, creative works/writing, rebranding and marketing (PR work), and more

What do you hope people take away from their experience with your company?

What message do you hope readers take away from your book?

Two things: 1 I am not bitter but blessed, and 2 There is healing on the other side of the hurt These are my go-to whenever I speak, read my books, and minister to others I do not mind sharing what I have been through because it is not about the abusers being kept a secret It is to release the healing and be a bridge to help others cross the troubled water I survived

Dr Rhondelle Booker-Adams, RN, started her nursing career as an LPN in 2009. In 2010 she decided to further her career and obtained her degree as a registered nurse Dr. Adams has worked in many different capacities throughout her nursing career, including ER and surgical nurse, home care nursing, and even hospice care nursing Her most favorite position was as a community health nurse It was there that she found what she thought was her true calling, as she was able to have a more intimate relationship with her patients, servicing them in their homes She has always had a passion for helping others, which is why nursing come so effortless for her, but despite having a successful career, she never felt fulfilled or that she was living in her true purpose I always felt like something was missing That is why I tried so many different nursing specialties, hoping to find the one that fit, but none ever really fit” -Dr Adams

You have a long history in nursing Can you share where your passion for caring for others comes from?

My passion for caring for others definitely came from my grandmother She was one of the most selfless people I know She was always willing to help and gave so much of herself to those around her. Growing up, I also had two sisters who had medical issues that often caused them to be in and out of the hospital. I would always look up to the nurses who cared for them, which sparked my interest in nursing and medicine

Reflecting on your long history in Nursing, what has been the highlight of your career? What parts of your career do you take with you as an entrepreneur?

That’s an interesting question that I reflect on often As I look back on my career thus far, I have realized that every nursing position I have had has prepared me for entrepreneurship Working on the administration side of nursing has prepared me to be a manager, filling out reports, hiring staff, and dealing with issues that arise in the day-to-day operations Working as a staff nurse has taught me the clinical skills I need to perform the procedures I currently provide at my office, such as Botox IV hydration therapy, post-operative care, and so much more Being a community health nurse has taught me about structuring my nurse concierge services in which I provide services to clients in their homes/ hotels

Can you tell us about your decision to open an aesthetic and wellness spa? What makes this so influential for women in your community?

The decision came from years of frustration with the treatment and service I received from other spas I wasn’t thrilled with the quality of work, nor did I feel like they understood how to properly care for my melanated skin I also never liked that I had to travel so far, usually to the Downtown area, to find good providers I wanted to cultivate an environment where women and men could receive high-quality services at an affordable price that was also local This is how Luxe Beauty Bar was birthed

What can women expect when entering the doors of your establishment?

*If you have ever had the pleasure of being a guest at Luxe, you know firsthand that you come for the service but stay for the experience And in a nutshell, Luxe is an experience Everyone feels at home when they come here They are so relaxed, and so many of my clients have expressed that Luxe is their safe place, which makes my heart so happy We take pride in providing the highest level of comfort and customer service that when you come here, you simply do not want to leave. And it doesn’t hurt that we offer so many services There is something for everyone.

Can you share the importance of self-care among women?

Self-care is so vital on so many levels It is my duty to enlighten my clients about self-care I always tell my clients, “You cannot pour from an empty cup We all have a lot going on, but we cannot neglect ourselves while trying to take care of everything and everyone else I have so many clients who say, I wish I could come more often, but I have so many other obligations I just don’t see it in the budget” And to that, I tell them, Self-care is not selfish” We need to save something for ourselves too As women, especially mothers, we tend to put our kids first, sacrifice, and go without to make sure they have everything we never had We tend to have this superwoman complex where we feel we can just keep going and keep giving like the energizer bunny, but at some point, sooner or later, your body will start showing you signs that it is breaking down A big part of self-care is listening to your body and giving it what it needs when it needs it It can mean taking 15 minutes at night to yourself to unwind, have a glass of wine or a cup of tea, do some deep breathing, and decompress after a long day It can mean running a nice bath with some candles and relaxing music It can also mean a full spa day of pampering and relaxation

Your brand is expanding rapidly You now have two locations. How do you stay balanced as a business owner to ensure your locations stay true to your initial mission and values?

Expansion and growth is never a comfortable process It has definitely come with hurdles. I would say one thing that keeps me balanced is my team I have an amazing team that supports me and always ensures I’m good I think they are a big part of the culture here at Luxe, and through my team, we are able to hold true to our values Another major factor is my family They are so supportive and are always there and ready to assist me whenever I need help

Tell us about your book? What message do you hope women take away from your work?

My book talks about the cosmetic surgery business The good, the bad, and the ugly, and really goes deep into planning everything you need to know before and after your procedure I wrote this book because I had so many post-op clients who came to me clueless about aftercare. I spent so much time counseling them on aftercare, holding their hand, and walking them through that process Recovery can be a very dark time for many clients They get depressed and discouraged, and many feel helpless and hopeless It was an obligation to write this book to help many more women around the world educate themselves on the process, not just those I see personally at my office

What is your definition of a Pretty Woman Who Hustles?

My grandmother always said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that true beauty comes from within This has always resonated with me, and I believe this is also true for Pretty Women Who Hustle I believe a pretty woman who hustles is a woman of God, one who has integrity, is beautiful on the inside and out and a woman who is strong, talented, and has a drive and ambition that is unmatched

Dee Harris is a lifelong Memphian and the owner of Dee Harris Interiors Her company provides interior décor services for residential and commercial spaces in Memphis, TN, and surrounding areas. Interior décor is her heart’s passion and a dream she has cultivated for most of her adult life.

Although she has always loved décor, Dee Harris merely tinkered with it as a hobby for years. Her story began when she started decorating rooms for herself in her personal homes because she truly enjoyed it Dee always received compliments whenever friends and family visited Over time, she began to get requests for her services from others, and Dee would recreate spaces here and there in her spare time Dee was always encouraged to venture into interior décor and design professionally, but she was initially quite hesitant

It’s not that she did not want to pursue her passion, but “Life kept getting in the way ” Dee Harris worked in the corporate sector, with over 25 years in the Customer Service arena, Quality Control, and as a Communications Specialist In her mind, Dee felt that would be where she would remain instead of pursuing her life’s purpose

Like so many, Dee found herself letting “self-doubt” creep in The “what ifs” remained in the back of her head However, design and her desire to create were never far from her heart Dee thought she needed to focus on her “ sure thing” instead of betting on herself and pursuing her passion However, the desires of her heart lead her to see that she was destined for so much more

The prospect of leaving the private sector and starting her own business venture was scary and a bit daunting, to say the least Dee was no different than many other entrepreneurs. The fear of the “unknown” can be overwhelming, and leaving the “safe place” of job security is scary. A saying rang true for Dee: “If it is your calling, it will KEEP CALLING until you answer”! That was certainly the case for her; eventually, she had to answer the call.

Over the years, the requests for home décor projects increased, and the referrals from previous home design work became more and more frequent

You grew up in the Memphis area. How did your surroundings impact who you are today as an entrepreneur?

I think my surroundings definitely helped to mold me into the person I am today Memphis can be a tough city However, there are many success stories here It showed me that I can excel and succeed with hard work and grit.

What inspired your start in interior decor?

I have always been passionate about decor for as long as I can remember As the saying goes, it is not work if you love what you do While it is a joy to wake up each day to do something you love, I must say it is STILL work. For me, it is a labor of love for sure!

What does your creative process entail?

My process begins with an inperson consultation. From there, I access what the client hopes to see for the space, and we move into discussions of budget, timelines, and the eventual design plan.

Dee Harris Interiors was born out of my love of beautiful spaces. I am a self-taught interior decorator My specialty is mixing bold colors and patterns to achieve aesthetically pleasing, functional spaces www deeharrisinteriors com

When did you realize you held a passion for fitness and wellness?

Like many women, after a breakup I did it to fight depression and anxiety It took a few years to take it seriously, and I believe that I could be consistent. My body underwent many changes a year after my daughter was born in 2016 Fitness became my outlet but also my crutch again I used it to turn off the world Let’s Werk TogehtorTogethor Fitness was born I fell in love with wellness, watching my husband fight for his life and heal himself Now, we do M O R E (Making Our Reality Extraordinary) with fitness and wellness.

Health and fitness are essential aspects of life What advice would you give those trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

Invite God into the process Our entire world is an echo chamber of fast, unhealthy, processed foods and quick body-altering procedures accomplished in little to no time We re conditioned to “look a certain way, by any means possible, and as fast as possible I believe most are directly related to the foods that we eat This process/transition is tough It would have been impossible for me to do without God

Like many, when COVID came, so did weight gain At 36 years old, I was convinced I was too old to lose weight I remember telling my husband I was too old to lose weight He looked, laughed, and said, “You can do anything!” That day, I went to my prayer closet I asked God to step in and help me. With hard work, proper diet, and exercise, I got down to 173 lbs. I had my confidence and lean muscle to match

I have a form of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) that doctors have never resolved During the last week of December 2022, I decided to take on the challenge of an all-fruit diet for 90 days. I completed my first 90 fruit and veggie diet in September 2022. With much research, I believed that was the reset my body needed physically, spiritually, and mentally I invited God into the process I began my 90-day fruit fast on January 9, 2023, and completed it on Easter Sunday, April, 9th 2023 I went from being depressed and weighing 200 lbs to hearing the voice of God, following His divine order for my life, to now weighing 143 lbs I’m back to weight lifting and resumed my normal healthy diet I’m in the best spiritual, mental, and physical health of my life!

A 90-day fruit fast may not be your path, but I can guarantee fruit and vegetables are a part of your journey to a healthier you

If you could tribute your success to anyone in your life, who would it be?

It would be my husband I always say, “I was his wife and his Divine assignment!” He saw in me what I couldn’t nearly 12 years ago and has guided me along this journey with grace, compassion, and love Sometimes tough love, but always love He sought after God on how to love me Because he truly knew God, he knew himself I believe this allowed him to get to know me, helping to guide me to my destiny

Is there a particular message you want women to understand with your business?

If you ’ re going to get healthy and fit the right way, there’s gonna be a process. No shortcuts, no fads or gimmicks, but a process. No matter our role(s) in life, there will be a process You have to figure out your process and why, then commit to it I believe we can figure out what that process is together You won’t regret it

What is next for Lifeline Juice?

Growth! We plan to break into the Farmer’s Market this spring and summer Greater branding, spreading the word, and getting Lifeline Juice into many more hands and helping heal many more people. Who knows, maybe store shelves someday.
