shellahera script by Ryan Prasetya
Here is a font for those who love calligraphy but don’t have the skill for it! Whether as titles, quotes or signs, the ShellaHera Script adds romance to the entire theme. The thickness of the stroke is good enough for special effects, including debossing and gold stamping, without looking too bulky. And it also comes in a matching sans serif family font set if you decide you want more.

onestly it doesn’t take much to make this little slice of paradise, the Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, look heavenly. That
long, long stretch of private beach with that beautiful blue sea is a dream come true for brides-to-be. Add to that gorgeous villas, quality food, top-notch service and picturesque sunsets, and you have a hotel that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. At The Wedding Notebook, our creative team had the honour of collaborating with the much sought after Darling Florist Langkawi for this shoot. The result? A romantic blue and gold look that we simply cannot get enough of. Here it is, beautifully captured by Peter Herman Photography just for you.

muted tones+textures Whites and nudes were the perfect colour palette for highlighting the many textured decorative details, from the wheat stalks in the bridal bouquet to the lace and tulle on the wedding gown. Floral options were kept to a minimum, mostly in white with a pop of burnt orange, and surrounded by gold branches, candles, gilded candlesticks, more wheat stalks and wooden elements. Together, they gave the boho chic theme an ethereal feel that was punctuated by such surprises as the bride’s bold vampy lip.

CEREMONY In an intimate ceremony surrounded by family and friends, the groom and bride became man and wife. Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali was the perfect venue, the sunlight casting a dreamy sheen over everything. Large bouquets of baby’s breath and floral bushels marked the front of the aisle, adding a touch of drama. Meanwhile, the bridal party’s outfits complemented the newlyweds, with elegant blouse and skirt combos for the bridesmaids and deep blue suits for the gentlemen.

RECEPTION “Our theme was ethereal with a touch of bohemian. I chose the venue because of its tranquillity, and with a mostly white theme, added texture in the form of tulle and pearls, said Jessica. As day turned to night, the entire party was transformed with magical fairy lights. Long picnic tables, dramatic candelabras and tall stalks of wheat were all part of the bohemian vibe, while the beautiful trees, ocean air and crashing waves in the background helped to ensure it was a party to remember.

classic+regal
Classic never goes out of style – despite having their wedding in an 18th century French chateau in the Loire Valley, the newlyweds opted for timeless looks that will last through the ages. Donning a lace bridal ball gown with a full skirt, the bride looked like Cinderella at the ball, with the groom as her Prince Charming. White roses and delicate green foliage provided a subtle yet elegant touch, as the chateau’s grand presence set the tone for the entire wedding – it was truly majestic, from the expansive gardens and topiaries surrounding the area, right down to the detailed architecture of the building.

CEREMONY Right before the newlyweds tied the knot, they incorporated a first look on the steps of the chateau – and it was clear that they were absolutely giddy and emotional with love! Later, in front of 80 of their friends and family who flew in from Saudi Arabia, they exchanged their vows and rings, the beautiful chateau in the background. It was a cosy ceremony, featuring a crescent floral arrangement with a mixture of baby’s breath, white roses, carnations and other flowers, as well as candles – definitely a romantic sight that would’ve taken your breath away.

RECEPTION The surrounding gardens of the chateau, which were immaculately kept and lush, came alive with the celebration of their love. Keeping things classic and elegant, the reception began with dinner at dusk (and summer meant a late and long sunset), which was served on long picnic tables with gorgeous white and green floral centrepieces, and gilded cutlery and tableware. The golden highlights certainly brought a regal touch to everything. Finally, the newlyweds had a caricature artist capture live the atmosphere and all of their guests, and like a true fairytale, ended the night with a spectacular firework show. Truly, this was a soirĂŠe to remember.

woodsy+rustic glam Classic white flowers with leafy greens gave the entire wedding a very simple yet elegant vibe, complete with little surprise elements such as wooden textures for a rustic feel and gilded décor for a touch of glamour. We love the wooden décor, especially the keepsake boxes for the bridal party with their intricate engravings and messages. The colours were kept subtle, such as the pale pink tones of the bridesmaids’ dresses. It was clear that this was a party celebrated by all. “We wanted our theme to be simple – less materials, and with the décor kept minimal and simple too. It’s to focus more on our connection and feelings of getting married, rather than the grandeur of things,” said Vira.

Khayangan Estate, Uluwatu, Bali
Boasting one of the best views in Bali, the Khayangan Estate in Uluwatu has a lush and grand alcove overlooking the ocean. What could be more romantic than saying yes to the love of your life against the backdrop of Mother Nature? Vira: “We fell in love with Khayangan Estate the first time we laid eyes on it. It was perfect. We wanted a rustic wedding, without too much décor, and this was the perfect venue for it. The estate in itself was already breathtakingly beautiful, with the wooden villas and the dreamy garden.” Opting for a destination wedding also meant that everyone could kick back and relax before the main event, such as going for a quick dip in the pool or bonding with each other at the spa.

CEREMONY A large wreath of white flowers and leafy greens framed the lovebirds as they said “I doâ€? in front of their close family and friends. With such a simple yet classic colour palette, details were introduced in the form of textures, such as some dried flowers, pinecones, and wooden furniture. Even the art and stationery for the invites had elements that were similar to the dĂŠcor. And then there was the bride, who looked absolutely resplendent in her intricately laced bridal gown.

RECEPTION When it came to celebrating the happy couple, the entire venue was turned into a magical, glamorous space, with fairy lights and elegant dÊcor. Keeping to the rustic theme of wooden glamour, the centrepieces were dramatic yet subtle. But the main event was how much the couple enjoyed celebrating their union with their friends and family – going so far as to give their guests a hangover pouch together with their wedding favours. The wedding favours were personalised to the bridal couple: a tote bag printed with a drawing of the lovebirds, filled with Balinese food (showcasing their love for food) and a Kaos Barong (a Balinese shirt).

With a venue like this, a garden party seemed like the best fitting theme: classic, yet dreamy and romantic. Only little subtle decorative elements were added while keeping things simple, such as mismatched dresses for the bridesmaids but in the same shade, and a vintage car for the couple to drive away in. Completing the look was the bride herself, looking absolutely magical with her regal headpiece and dramatic veil, paired with her delicate lace bridal gown and gorgeous bridal bouquet. “I’m not a huge fan of having things super orderly and perfect. I wanted a fresh garden look with loose giant flowers, soft pastel colours, and little bright blue flowers, said Mariana.

VENUE
Fattoria di Cinciano, Tuscany Mariana: “It was the first (and only) venue we saw, and we instantly fell in love with it. The venue has such amazing views and beautiful trees that I wanted to mimic its nature.” The Italian countryside has got to be some of Mother Nature’s best work, and Tuscany the jewel in the crown. From the rolling hills to the textured walls, narrow alleyways and cobbled streets, these are the views that have inspired centuries of painters and the artists to come. More than the view, Fattoria di Cinciano is also a vineyard, which meant the guests imbibed on the vineyard’s own Chianti and Pinot Grigio all night, while seated at long picnic tables underneath a massive sprawling tree.

RECEPTION As the happy couple celebrated their union with 200 of their guests, they also got to watch the sun set from their soirée, as the summer sun only goes down around 10pm. It was magical to witness the change of light over dinner. “Lighting is one of the most important parts in setting the atmosphere! I had my husband’s amazing groomsmen help me put up 40 glass balls with lights on the trees. It was so beautiful because you’d hardly notice them during the day but as the sun set, they intensified,” shared Mariana. With speeches from their loved ones, a tenor serenading the couple from the balcony, and the cutting of the cake which was freshly made in front of everyone, the perfect night was topped off with dancing, and so much joy and laughter.

white minimalist Destination weddings tend to be intimate ones, but more than that, it doubles as a holiday for all, with a very relaxed type of atmosphere. For these lovebirds from Poland, it was the groom’s dream to get married on a beach, so a beautiful place like Bali was all they needed. There was no décor required, thanks to the natural arch, panoramic views of the ocean, and rolling rice paddies that were already provided by Mother Nature. Anya: “We wanted a modest and minimalist wedding and a very family-centric ceremony. That was the most important thing for us. And it can be said that this was our main theme.” Instead of flowers or other details, everything was kept very simple, with both families all dressed in white.

CEREMONY Held in a cave by the beach, this wedding truly was intimate with just eight guests – four family members from each side watched as the bride and groom exchanged their vows and wedding rings. As Bali is known to be quite crowded, finding a beautiful spot on the beach with no tourists around might have been tricky. The newlyweds wanted someplace where it would be just the two of them and their families, and The Cove, which sits on a pristine private beach in West Bali, fit the bill perfectly. Providing them with panoramic views and total privacy, the exotic alcove was the ideal spot.

leven days, 7 hotels, countless flights, and enduring altitudes of up to 5,200m – this couple and their photography crew conquered Peru’s Rainbow Mountain and set foot on
the world’s largest salt flat in Bolivia to create this incredible engagement album. Few photographers would be able to attempt this, and for Oly of Metrophoto, it was his most challenging shoot to date. Who decided on the location and countries? Couple: We asked Oly where the best place to shoot was, or what his dream destinations were. We decided on the location but we asked Oly for all the best options. Photographer: This is probably one of the most unique places to shoot bridal portraits. To be able to shoot in Peru and Bolivia is one of my wildest dreams coming true. How many days did the entire photoshoot take? Couple: The entire trip was 11 days, including very long and multiple flights from Manila. How long did it take to plan this entire trip? Couple: We planned for eight months. What were some of the difficulties and challenges during the shoot? Photographer: This was the most difficult shoot I’ve ever done. We struggled with altitude sickness, especially at Rainbow Mountain, and the shoot almost didn’t happen.
