Vernatun Publishing House

Vernatun is an up-and-coming publishing house founded in 2013 in Armenia. The name of the company (meaning upper room or garret in Armenian) refers to an Armenian influential literary study group and a collective of prominent Armenian writers of early 20th century, which used to held their intellectual meetings in the garret of Armenian significant writer Hovhannes Tumanyan's house. The core activity of Vernatun publishing house is composed of translated fiction and non-fiction books, as well as art catalogues. Vernatun is also the official partner of Literary Ark international festival that aims to develop cooperation among writers. A bilingual (Armenian and the original language) anthology of works reflecting participant writers' impressions of the festival and their visit to Armenia is published each year by Vernatun.
