Only a few experiences reveal the majesty of nature as does the Black Sun phenomenon (a murmuration of starlings). It is breathtaking to see the large flocks of hundreds of thousands of starlings, whether they are dancing in the evening sky or simply gathering to find a place for the night among the reeds. During the spring and autumn migration of these birds this fascinating sight may be seen in many places along the Wadden Sea, and you might well be lucky to encounter the flocks. But taking one of the many arranged tours with a nature guide is a good idea, the starlings often change resting places, and local knowledge is needed to forecast the current locations.
