N o g a m e s l a s t w e e k a n d restrictions have meant no game u n f o r t u n a t e l y t h e b o r d e r again this week :(

15A's - East 30 defeated South 18 Best Players - Ambah Beveridge & Indi Dwyer Award Winners - (Athletes Foot) Indy Dwyer (Scroll Queen) Tahlia Geraghty (McDonalds) Ambah Beveridge

We were very excited to be back playing as a team after a few weeks off & come back to a great contest against South. Lisa Fyfe was outstanding in the defence end as was tenille in the attack line and both were awarded best players for their efforts.

A little slow to start, but we got into the game and put it all together. Jordy ran the centre superbly and had great feeding into the goalies with accurate vision. Tahlia has one of her best games on the defensive wing - turning over numerous balls and sending it back into goalies. Ambah drove hard with lovely front cuts in the goal circle and finished with some lovely shooting. overall a great team effort and was good to be back playing after 3 weeks off. keep working hard girls

After a good 4 weeks off due to COVID restrictions. We knew we were gonna be rough coming back onto the court! We worked through each quarter hard and south made us work for every ball. With a couple changes in the last quarter bringing on u17s Issy Lamb and u15s Indi Dwyer both girls played their hearts out and played so hard! As a team we played well considering the break. Very proud of the girls and their efforts.

The Western Border Netball Association has made a commitment to developing umpiring and coaching stocks in the competition and COVID has done nothing but throw up roadblocks to ensuring that development has been difficult in the past 18 months. Last year there was no opportunity to assess umpires and allow them to secure a badge but we have managed to have six umpires secured that C Badge accreditation in the past month. A huge congratulations to Lauren Cleary (Casterton Sandford); Rachel Jamieson (Casterton Sandford;

Gemma Hunt (East Gambier); Alex Quick (East Gambier); Amy Cram (West Gambier) and Tracy McShane (South Gambier). H av i n g s i x u m p i re s badged in one season is a record for the association and one we are proud of. For those still looking to be assessed we will be m a k i n g t h e u m p i re development a priority again in 2021 as well as t h e c o a c h i n g development which will also be easier once COVID restrictions stop interfering.

We knew at the start South were going to push us to the limits, which they did. But the girls all played very well to keep up until half time, the girl's fitness and decision making brought them down, where South ran away with the game. Keep fighting girls. C Grade - East 50 defeated South 36 Best Players - Sophie Drew & Alex Quick Award Winners - (Jens Hotel) Sophie Drew (Nourish Nook) Alex Quick (Salts of The Earth) Katie Gaffney After a long 4 weeks off it was great to get back out on the court and see everything we've been working on at training coming together. Proud of all of the girls and getting the win. 17s - East 46 defeated South 44 Best Players - Kate Dempsey & Amryn Bosko. Award Winners - (Fasta Pasta) Amryn Bosko (Beautie Studio) Kate Dempsey (F45) Issy Lamb A very consistent game by each and everyone one of you allowed us to stay right with south on the scoreboard. Playing so composed meant our confidence in each other grew and we pulled away a few goals and maintained this lead to take our first win. I am very proud of you all, but I'm not surprised with the win, you are all more than capable to hold your own this season. I am glad you were rewarded for your hard work!

After a very scatty first quarter - it was obvious that we hadn't played for a few weeks. Remember that we need to put the effort into our warm up as this is taken into the game. We settled and found our groove in the 2nd quarter Tonique had a great game in defense and was backed up by Grace controlling the defensive circle. Lille Lamb had a great game at WA and really put in a top effort to bring the ball down and feed her goalies and Ambah controlled the shooting circle superbly. Lets stay focused here and work hard at trainings as we approach the final series.
