When it comes to choosing containers, you are best to invest in pieces that are going to last. Purchase some clear jars for all your washing powders and fabric softeners. This helps to keep track of how much you have left, as well as making your space look like something straight off Pinterest.

oing the laundry is easily one of the most dreaded household chores, but it doesn’t need to be. We have recently finished our laundry renovation – prior to completing it, we had our washing machine set up on our back deck. It felt like our house was going to take off every spin cycle, but at least our clothes were washed. What more could we need? Our little villa, unfortunately, doesn’t have much built-in storage, so when planning our laundry renovation, we wanted to add some extra storage space, in particular, a linen cupboard. We opted for a wall-hung linen cupboard to provide some space underneath to house our washing baskets as well as our brooms and mops down the side – out

of sight and out of the way. Our laundry isn’t the biggest; however, we made sure to make the most of the space we had. Having a front loader washing machine provided us with a generous sized useable bench space, perfect for sorting and folding washing. Adding an overhead cupboard is perfect for housing all our cleaning products, although not applicable to us, ensures that little hands won’t get hold of them. We didn’t want our new laundry to be used as a dumping ground for all the odd bits that didn’t belong anywhere else. We wanted to make sure that what we did have, had its place. We knew that we needed to find some storage solutions that were going to make this space neat, tidy and organised. moochstyle.com

When you’re organising containers, it’s a great time to cull back on all your excess linen and cleaning products. Do you really need 30 towels and ten sets of sheets for your spare bed?

Label Labelling your containers ensures that every item has a dedicated space and will be returned to that space.

Store Put everything away. It’s a great idea to have your most used items within reach for easy access. Seasonal items or little-used items can go up the top or at the back.
