The Leisure Traveller wins luxury travel award The Leisure Traveller, based on Station Road, won Best Midlands Travel Agent 2023 at the Azure Luxury Travel Awards Gala dinner held at the Iconic Browns Hotel in the heart of London. Helen and Tracy from The Leisure Traveller accepted the award on behalf of the agency owner Lynne who was away on holiday in Jordan at the time. On her return to the office, Lynne said: “After the terrible time during the Covid pandemic, where our office was closed for almost 18 months and we really didn’t know whether we would still have a business, it is It is a great honour to receive this award. “I am very proud that my team have been recognised for their hard work and commitment to the travel industry. Helen, Anita and Tracy pride themselves on their high customer service, they have great knowledge of destinations and travel and always go above and beyond to give clients the holiday they dream of.” The Leisure Traveller, which will be celebrating 15 years of business in the Village, are based in the offices on Station Road, above Domino’s.
Ashorne Hill takes home two prestigious awards! Ashorne Hill has won two prestigious awards for Conference Centre of the Year and Unique Venue of the Year at the 2023 Famtastic Rocks Awards. The awards ceremony, which recognises professionals in the hospitality and events industry, took place at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, in a glamorous evening of celebration. The judges recognised Ashorne Hill’s unique blend of history with a modern hi-tech, hi-touch environment for meetings, training, and events, with its platinum ECOsmart accreditation and in-house team of learning and development managers as outstanding. West Midlands consultancy expands Stratford-upon-Avon team Planning, design and development consultancy Marrons has further bolstered its Stratford-upon-Avon team with the appointment of Jack Barnes as an Assistant Planner.
Jack will primarily be based at Marrons’ Stratford-upon-Avon hub but will be working with clients nationally. The Stratford-upon-Avon team, which has more than doubled in size in 12 months, takes the lead in developing Marrons’ offering in the area, providing services including securing planning permission for development and promoting greenfield and brownfield land to meet future housing and employment needs.
Jack has joined Marrons from Cassidy + Ashton, where he worked on a range of planning statements, application types and site visits. He has also recently completed a master’s degree in civic design, town and regional planning, at the University of Liverpool. Following a significant increase in demand for planning services in the West Midlands, in his new role, Jack will be responsible for helping to secure planning permissions for developers, landowners and homeowners. Jack said: “Marrons is an excellent consultancy that is making a significant impact in the industry. I was attracted to Marrons because of its wide-ranging client base, array of different types of work, and its flexible and modern company culture.
“I am excited to contribute to the growth and success of the consultancy in the West Midlands through taking on more responsibility and working with clients directly to help them overcome their planning challenges, while also working towards my RTPI chartership.”

The mission? To spend their Corporate Social Responsibility day turning a drab perimeter fence and a few lonely outdoor benches into works of art that would make Picasso jealous.
