Key appointments for leading law firm Solid

growth for engineering company

A leading Midlands law firm has strengthened its private client team with four key appointments. Richard Dundee (Lead Partner), Siobhan Sibley (Senior Associate), Hannah Lloyd (Associate) and Michelle Harvey (Associate) have joined Leamington-based Wright Hassall.

Lenoch Engineering was established in 1961 as a jig and toolmaker to the automotive industry. Since then, it has continued to grow substantially, through a process of evolution and continual investment and acquisition, to add diversity to the portfolio of services that are offered.

The appointments are part of a major drive to develop its private client offering, which includes wills, tax planning, trusts and probate, estate and inheritance planning, and wealth management. The new arrivals bring a combined 47-years of experience in private client law and a proven pedigree for advising high-net worth individuals, couples and families.

Wright Hassall's Private Client Services Group has been strengthened with new appointments

Lenoch has become a multi-faced group of companies, covering a broad spectrum of industry, including some world class clients in the field of power generation, manufacturing, packaging, and distribution, automotive, utilities, offshore oil and gas, aviation, and renewable energy. Indeed, Lenoch also export larger scale projects to countries such as France, USA, China, and South Africa.

client team now elevates the practice group as the leading regional provider of private client services, and I am very much looking forward to working with all four of the new additions alongside the existing team.

Today, Lenoch delivers tangible 24/7 engineering solutions that play a crucial role in the success and sustainability of its client companies, and we are proud to be a Tier 1 business partner to many blue-chip clients.

“The recruits will enable us to bolster our wider private client offering, which includes services to take you through life’s journey for property, relationships, family business and future estate and succession planning.

Lenoch is known as a reliable, rapid response, short lead time “get the job done” commercial partner, with the know-how and resource to tackle the most challenging projects and provide solutions in quick time while adhering to ISO 9001 quality standards and has had solid growth year on year despite recent challenges.

Phil Wilding, Manager Partner, said: “This is a brilliant start to the new year. Investing in our private client offering has been a key priority for the business. “We wanted to build a strong, experienced and dynamic team who understand the issues that impact our current and future clients, and by adding Richard, Siobhan, Hannah and Michelle to our ranks, we have a team with fantastic breadth of experience and technical expertise to deal with any issue. “As a full-service law firm, we can problemsolve issues arising with future wealth, succession and ever-changing tax regimes, utilising the expertise across the business – whether that’s our agriculture or corporate team – to provide co-ordinated, considered solutions, going beyond what is ‘standard’.” Dundee joins from Wills & Trust Solicitors and brings with him a wealth of knowledge in all private client law, with a particular expertise in trust management.

Sibley handles a variety of private client matters including wills, powers of attorney, and estate and trust administration, and joins from Hancocks Solicitors. Lloyd arrives from Knights and possesses an in-depth knowledge on agriculture and equine issues and deals with trusts and probate, alongside corporate issues around wealth management and with a particular focus on high-net-worth individuals and complex estates Harvey has particular expertise in probate and administration of estates, joining from Wadsworth Solicitors. Gemma Carson, who continues as head of practice, added: “The strength of our private

“This investment into the team mirrors the growth we have seen across the company over the past couple of years, so this is a really positive start to 2024 for both us and our clients.”

Talbots Law heads to Worcester city centre with Scaiff LLP acquisition Next stop on Talbots Law’s expansion journey is Worcester after it announced its third acquisition in eight months.

“Annual fees are currently £1.2m and we expect these to increase to £2m by the end of 2024.” Scaiff LLP is the third acquisition made by Talbots Law in the last twelve months and follows the purchase of Sarginsons in Coventry and Wright Solicitors with offices in Dudley and Bewdley.

All 16 staff are being retained, with ambitious expansion plans already in place to recruit a further 10 solicitors and administrative employees over the course of the next twelve months. There will also be significant investment in sympathetically refurbishing the Grade II listed offices on Foregate Street.

Lenoch has seen major growth in the field of delivering Turnkey Projects to a number of world renown manufacturing companies involving cutting edge technologies and collaboration of a range of specialist providers.

He continued: “All this expertise is being retained and will be supplemented by the additional capacity and infrastructure we can offer and access to business services and dispute resolution legal advice.

The legal specialist, which has boosted its workforce to nearly 450 in 2023, has bought Scaiff LLP in a deal that sees it boast its first ever presence in the city centre.

Dave Hodgetts, who joined Talbots Law as Chief Executive in 2021, commented: “This acquisition gives us an immediate footprint in a city and area rich in potential.

The company continues to invest in its future by sponsoring a number of high calibre apprentices through college and providing relevant work experience in its workshops.

“Scaiff LLP has been operating here for more than 30 years and has a proven track record of offering family, personal injury, wills and probate and residential conveyancing services to local people.”

The M&A activity, combined with strong organic growth, has seen revenues rise from £22m to £24m in 2023, with a £30m target set for 2024. This will be achieved by further deals in strategically identified parts of the West Midlands and, longer-term, the possibility of moving into the East of the region.
