A leading Midlands communications agency has signed up as a partner to the region’s biggest economic conference – and it will see the return of its media hub to the event.

He said: “We’ve attended and worked at the conference every year for the past two decades as part of our ongoing relationship with the Chamber and we are really pleased to sign up as media partner for the event in 2023. “It will mean our media hub will be present again where we’ll carry out interviews with speakers and delegates,

which will lead to the production of a post event video, as well as providing social media updates throughout the day.

County Council, and Julie Nugent, chief executive of Coventry City Council, in an interview session with Chamber chief executive Corin Crane.

“We will also arrange interviews with members of the media who are in attendance and provide high-quality, professional photography from the event.

There will also be Business & Economic and Future Workforce panel sessions during the conference, which are expected to be attended by more than 250 business leaders and decisionmakers.

“The Chamber is a valued client of PLMR Advent and this year’s theme of ‘Doing Business with Purpose’ is something that fits with the wider PLMR Group’s ethos of being a force for good and working with companies and organisations who make a positive difference to society and to the economy. “It should be another fantastic event.” The Chamber has announced multiaward-winning broadcaster Clive Myrie as its keynote speaker. The event will also hear from Monica Fogarty, chief executive of Warwickshire

Corin said: “We’re really pleased to have PLMR Advent on board as our media partners again. “Our Annual Business & Economic Conference is our biggest event of the year and it’s great to have Lee and the team at PLMR supporting us to bring added profile to the day.” The conference is being delivered in partnership with PET-Xi Training, Prime Accountants Group, Eskuta and Make Venues – Woodland Grange.

Renewables specialist helps prestigious golf course land major tournament A renewable energy specialist based in Coventry has helped a prestigious golf course score a hole in one as it was announced as the host of a major tournament. Green Energy Technical Services Ltd, known as GET Services, has installed solar panels and EV (Electric Vehicle) chargers at Royal Birkdale Golf Club, in Southport. The golf club’s green energy credentials were one of the factors which helped it win its bid to host the 154th Open Championship in 2026, which resulted in the business gaining attention from stars including Justin Rose and Gary Lineker. The club is one of a number GET Services’ highprofile clients, with others including Heart of England Co-operative, Hilton Garden Inn, and the largest online retailer in the world, as well as local authorities such as Coventry City Council. GET Services was launched in 2017 by Russ Smith and his business partner Kevin Gurney, who have both worked in the renewable energy sector since 2010. It has a team of 12 staff, supported by a pool of trusted subcontractors, and offers a range of services including solar panels, energy storage, EV chargers and solar car ports. It works with businesses in a variety of sectors right across the UK, having previously completed projects spanning from the north of Scotland to the south coast, while still maintaining a strong presence in the Midlands. One of GET Services’ USPs is an online portal which provides clients with daily updates which track the progress of a project, advise on any inspections that have taken place and provide details of any visitors that have been on-site.

Russ said: “We are extremely proud of how we have grown and continue to grow the business – with one of our latest achievements being supporting Royal Birkdale Golf Club with its successful bid to host The Open in 2026. “Most of our work comes from word-of-mouth recommendations, and we work with a large number of high-profile companies. “We have also worked on some of the largest commercial developments in the country and have been heavily involved with domestic framework agreements. “Our flagship projects over the last couple of years have been working with the largest online retailer in the world where we have installed 34,500 solar panels which can generate more than 11 megawatts of energy per annum. “Given the rising energy costs, solar energy not only provides green power but offers a very good return on investment. On some of the bigger sites we have worked on, customers can expect to make their money back on their investment within around three to five years, and the average solar panel has a 25-year lifespan.

“With EV charging, solar is also a very good product to sit alongside this as it can generate the power to support the car charging. “We conduct a complete energy review for clients and can support any business with their renewable energy needs.” Further information about GET Services is available by visiting https://getservices.uk/
