Green 4 Motor company drive 100 miles and raise money to plant 100 trees celebrating World EV Day

MPG Continue Sponsorship for 23/24 Coventry Rugby is delighted to announce that our sponsorship with MPG will be continuing into the 2023/24 season. MPG UK are a local business, based in Coventry, that sell and repair electrical motors, pumps, gearboxes and fan units. They are trusted by businesses both locally and nationally to keep important machinery running after breakdown or damage, repairing or replacing parts in “double-quick time”. Managing Director of MPG UK, Steve Phillips: “As a local Coventry company, we are delighted to continue our corporate sponsorship with Coventry Rugby Club in

On September 9th, 2023, to celebrate World EV day, the Green 4 team took part in a 100-mile EnviroDrive in the Mazda MX-30 from the Gridserve Charging Station in Braintree to the Gridserve Charging Station in Norwich. The team wanted to raise awareness of how easy living with an electric car can be, as well as raising some muchneeded funds to plants 100 trees to offset emissions. The journey started off early on a Saturday morning, this is where the team first got to meet the others taking part in the EnviroDrive, as well as a look around the charging station for the first time. The drive itself was a bit of a competition to see which team could complete the route in the most “fuel” efficient and environmentally friendly way, while coming first! The MX-30 was charged on a fast 350kW charger within 40 minutes so after a quick refreshment and an explore of one of Europe's first dedicated EV charging stations, we were ready to set out on the 100-mile journey. We got off to a rocky start with our navigator struggling to adjust to the new rally style way of navigating, but once the basics had been established, we started to make good progress to the halfway point.

Upon catching up with the other drivers and reaching the halfway point, we arrived at a beautiful airfield, and observed a fantastic Glider Aircraft take to the skies, although none of the team fancied putting themselves forward for a go. After some light refreshments we hopped back into the car for the last 40 miles of the trip, staying on track we made it all the way to the charging station in Norwich and got

For every mile we travelled, we also wanted to raise £1 to donate to the Just One Tree charity, who will plant a tree for every £1 raised. Green 4 Motor Company will then match all the money raised.

Packaging specialist PurePac has ditched paper-based vehicle checks and boosted efficiency with an integrated trio of TruTac systems. The firm specialises in supplying recycled and reconditioned packaging products to the food and drink, perfumery, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, among others, and has a zero packaging-to-landfill promise. Its fleet comprises four rigid trucks and one articulated unit, and it has made extensive use of TruTac’s TruChecks daily walkaround app since adopting it in April this year. “We’re trying to make everything paperless here to be as environmentally friendly as we can, so getting the vehicle checks all done through the app was one of the most

important things for us,” says PurePac’s Warehouse and Logistics Manager, Chris Brady. “The drivers have very quickly settled into it and realised how easy it is to navigate. It saves them time, because they haven’t got to worry about writing stuff down or ticking boxes – they just do it as they go around the vehicle.” The company has consulted extensively with its drivers and tailored the app to suit their requirements, which is one of the unique features of the TruChecks system. “We can personalise it, which is a very good feature,” says Chris. “Because every vehicle is different, I’ve sat down with the drivers and got their input about what they

“TruLocation creates a huge advantage for me as the transport manager, because it makes it easier to plan the afternoon,” says Chris. “It’s definitely easier for me to manage my time and the drivers’, because when I look at it and see how far away they are, I can have another vehicle ready for them, or I can make a decision as to whether I’ll have time to unload and reload that vehicle. “When I know they’re 45 minutes away, I can plan accordingly, and as soon as they get back, they change the card over, do a vehicle check, and off they go. It’s just made things a lot more efficient, and means we get the most out of a day.”
