CHIEF MINISTER’S WELCOME

Andrew Barr MLA ACT Chief Minister

Canberra enters 2022 with a renewed sense of optimism. The COVID-19 pandemic has delivered its fair share of challenges, not only faced by our city but cities across the country. However, the ACT’s strong health and economic responses – including our world-leading vaccination rates – can give planners and visitors the confidence to converge in Canberra. The nation’s capital continues to have a reputation as one of Australia’s best cities to meet in, thanks to our diverse and dynamic intersection of government, science, education, research, the arts and business. Visitors may find more than they expect in Canberra, with everything from world-leading institutions to award-winning hospitality venues. There is no shortage of things to do in our city – and something to suit every interest or taste. Getting here and getting around has never been easier with a range of transport options, hotels, businesses, dining options and retail precincts to choose from. Canberra Convention Bureau looks forward to working with you to ensure a successful event in the ACT. Canberra has emerged from 2021 stronger together and we look forward to welcoming you to meet in – and explore – our region.
