Even with ergonomic office chairs that provide sufficient back support and facilitate good posture, the load on the spine and hips will still take its toll.
OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS In addition to sitting for long hours, the daily use of handphones causes us to look downwards several times a day, which in turn causes stress and pressure on the discs in our neck and our trapezius muscles. This can lead to neck aches, which may often lead to migraines. Furthermore, in this post-COVID world that we are living in, we are stuck at home a lot more than usual. Hence many of us are spending a lot more time on our couches and beds, which are clearly not designed for working on. This too can intensify the pressure on our spines and the associated feeling of tightness.
