Opportunities in the Arts
O’FallonTheatreWorks presents The Man from Earth Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 20-22 and 27-29 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; 2 p.m. matinees on Sunday The Man from Earth is a play by Jerome Bixby and was adapted from the 2007 science fiction film of the same name. The story follows the history professor John Oldman and his sudden decision to leave the university and move away. Concerned for their friend, many other colleagues of John’s from the university come to visit his home and give him a going away party; but their true intention is to discover why he has decided to leave. Little do they know that the truth they’re seeking is not one they wish to uncover. The Man from Earth delves deep into the human condition. It depicts how real people react to something that challenges their very morals and if they can put them aside in the name of friendship and truth.
