Jeff Ulvedal, PGA Director of Golf Ptarmigan Country Club Humble Leader and Passionate Professional Led 16 Former Employees to Further Their Careers Jeff is a Colorado native whose roots in golf date back to the 1920′s and 1930′s. His grandfather was a PGA of America Golf Professional in Montana whose claim to fame was teaching Chief Two Guns White Calf (the model for the Buffalo Head nickel) how to play golf. Jeff’s career began in the mid 1990′s at Sedona Golf Resort and has worked at some of the finest facilities in Arizona and Colorado. Jeff’s family has a true love and appreciation for the outdoors. When they are not at work, school, or playing sports, they head for the hills! Ptarmigan Country Club seems to have a special formula for developing industry leaders and junior golfers alike. Ulvedal highlights that being at a facility where the ownership and membership like to watch people grow has created a special place for PGA of America Golf Professionals to thrive. Ptarmigan Country Club has also earned a nickname - The Farm - because of the staggering number of junior golfers who started playing there and then have moved on to play college golf and beyond. Junior golf has only grown since the staff has added PGA Jr League to the menu and expects the number of successful junior golfers to increase as time goes on.

.

Jeff describes his leadership style as “relational.” He wants to know about the person and cares about them and their success. Since coworkers spend so much time together while carrying out their responsibilities, he wants to make sure they are doing well both personally and professionally. Work-life balance is very important for Ulvedal and he shares that priority with his staff.

“If someone asked me Through his continued leadership and mentoring of others, 16 individuals what my favorite part who have previously worked for Jeff have gone on to positions such as Head Professional, Director of Golf and General Manager. “That’s as good as it gets; about being a PGA its fun to be a part of their lives” he noted when reflecting on those whose Professional is, without a lives he has positively impacted along the way. doubt, it is mentoring and helping people grow.“
