President's Message
Winding Down on 2023 - Time for Refueling and Reflecting Dear Fellow Colorado PGA Members, I hope that everyone is beginning to see some light at the end of a long and prosperous summer of golf. I remember fondly when myself and my colleagues would anxiously await the turn of the calendar to “Septober” which signaled a chance to exhale and enjoy beautiful Colorado in the Fall. Your section team and officers are already planning our visit to our new Home of the PGA in Frisco, TX for the Annual Meeting in November. Wow time flies… Congratulations to all of the 2023 Section Award Winners profiled in this edition. We would love to have any of our members attend the awards banquet at Cherry Hills on October 27th. Reach out to the Section Office for additional details. A special congratulations to Bob Doyle as this is his third time winning Golf Professional of the Year. His time spent as our interim Executive Director was invaluable to the Board and our Section staff. He deserves the highest commendation for his service to our section over the years. The Fall Section Business Meeting is coming up on October 23rd at Heritage Eagle Bend. The day will begin with education from Doctor Norris on leadership and teamwork and then lead into our business meeting and golf. We will be officially welcoming Andrew Shuck and Ben Pennymon as new Board of Directors and thanking Andy Benson and Luke Brosterhous for their Board service. We are seeing great growth in our associate program both locally and nationally. We are seeing the highest Associate enrollment numbers in over 10 years. In the Colorado Section, our Associate numbers increased 26% YOY. Finally, we need your help! Please ensure you take a few moments to complete the Member Survey as we look to shape the short-term and long-term of the Section at our Board Planning Session in December. Feedback from the members is critical to this process. No Summit would be complete without thanking our AMAZING staff and all of our volunteer Board members for their work on your behalf in 2023.
