Very strange laws on (cough, cough) Sex from around the globe!

Men aren’t allowed to kiss their wives’ breasts in Florida. (Don’t be a boob man in Florida, you’ll be massivly out of luck).

Muslims are banned from looking at the genitals of a corpse. This also applies to undertakers. The sex organs of the deceased must be covered with a brick or piece of wood at all times. (A brick??)

There are men in Guam whose full-time job is to travel the countryside and deflower young virgins, who pay them for the privilege of having sex for the first time Reason: under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for virgins to marry. (Let's just think for a minute; is there any job anywhere else in the world that even comes close to this?)

In China, women are prohibited from walking around a hotel room in the nude. (The bathroom isn’t off limits though luckly...)

The penalty for masturbation in Indonesia is decapitation. (Much worse than "going blind!")

In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. The husband's illicit lover, on the other hand, may be killed in any manner desired . (Ah! Justice!)

Very strange laws on (cough, cough) Sex from around the globe!

In Cali, Colombia, a woman may only have sex with her husband, and the first time this happens, her mother must be in the room to witness the act. (Makes one shudder at the thought.)

In Santa Cruz, Bolivia, it is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman and her daughter at the same time (I presume this was a big enough problem that they had to pass this law?)

In Maryland, it is illegal to sell condoms from vending machines with one exception: Prophylactics may be dispensed from a vending machine only "in places where alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises." (Is this a great country or what? Well . . . not as great as Guam!)

If you couldn’t find the condoms in the first place and are now having a baby in Denmark... Citizens have to select baby names from a list of 7,000 government-approved names. If parents wish to diverge from the list, they must seek approval from the government. About 1,100 novel names are assessed every year and 15% to 20% of them are rejected. (Eccentric celebrity baby names like Apple and Saint wouldn't be aloud in Denmark.)

Very strange laws on (cough, cough) Sex from around the globe!

In Bhutan, most of the buildings are adorned with erect penises. The small country nestled in the Himalayans is not for the prudish... Fly to Bhutan and you'll be surrounded by murals of floating phalluses. To the predominantly Buddhist population, the male organ is a symbol of fertility and wards off evil spirits. (A floating phalluse?)

Topless saleswomen are legal in Liverpool, England but only in tropical fish stores. (But of course!)

You can’t have sex on a parked motorcycle in London. Does this mean it’s ok to have sex on a moving motorcycle in London?

In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death. (Like THAT makes sense.)

In France... An 18th century French prostitute could be spared punishment if she were willing to join the opera. This explains a lot!

In Bakersfield, California... We know it’s difficult to resist but you can not, we repeat CAN NOT, have sex with Satan unless you’re wearing a condom. So if you fancy doing the dirty to the Devil, make sure you have a condom in you’re wallet....

VALENTINES DAY FOR SINGLE FRIENDS IN UNDER 10 MINUTES

Five Top Tips

Valentine's Day is traditionally a day for loved ones to celebrate their love for each other. However, not everyone is in a relationship each year when Valentine's Day rolls around. Just because you don't have a significant other on Valentine's Day does not mean you can't have a great Valentine's Day. Spending Valentine's Day with a friend can be a wonderful way to spend the day and keep both of you from feeling left out on this holiday. This article will focus on some ideas for spending Valentine's Day with a friend.

1)GO OUT TO MOVIES

We all know what “Netflix and Chill” means, so that’s not on the agenda. Instead, going out to the movies can be a great way for friends to spend Valentine's Day. Going to the movies is not one of the most popular activities on Valentine's Day so you will likely not have to worry about long queues or shows being sold out. If couples do choose to go to the movies, they are likely to flock to romantic movies so you and your friend can avoid the crowds by choosing a comedy or a science fiction movie you have been wanting to see.

24

2) TEN PIN BOWLING

Another fun way to spend Valentine's Day with a friend is to get dressed up and go bowling. Bowling can be a lot of fun and it is not normally an activity couples tend to favour for Valentine's Day. Try getting dressed up as if you were on a date and head to the local bowling alley. You will not only be having a lot of fun but you will also be making the activity seem more special. You can also try dressing for a specific theme such as the 50s or the 80s for your bowling outing.

3) DINNER AWAY FROM THE COUPLES

You might be spending Valentine's Day with a friend instead of a boyfriend or girlfriend but you still have to eat dinner on Valentine's Day. Just because Valentine's Day is traditionally for couples, doesn't mean you and your friend can’t go out for a great dinner together on Valentine's Day. Try a new casual dining restaurant if you want to try to avoid romance!

4) VOLUNTEER FOR A DAY

If you and your friend are looking for something to do on Valentine's Day, try volunteering your time and talents! Whether at your local hospital, nursing home or neighbourhood animal shelter, lean into what you’re passionate about and offer the gift of compassionate service. You will likely leave feeling as though you have made a difference in the lives of others which is a great way to spend Valentine's Day.

5) REPAIR THE THING THAT CHRONICALLY IRRITATES YOU

The loose hinge on your bedroom door, the hideous stain on your bathroom wall, or the anarchic clutter at your work desk. Whatever it is, as an act of self-love, you and your friend should make a list of what you have been putting off for 18 months and then go to each others house and carve out some time to remedy the annoyance and give your spaces a clean sweep this Valentine's Day.

SOME NOT SO ROMANTIC THOUGHTS ON LOVE & MARRIAGE!

• Getting married is very much like going to a continental restaurant with friends. You order what you want, then when you see what the other fellow has, you wish you had ordered that.

• At the cocktail party, one woman said to another, “Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?” The other replied, “Yes I am, I married the wrong man.”

• Man is incomplete until he is married. Then he is really finished.

• A little boy asked his father, “Daddy, how much does it cost to get married?” And the father replied, “I don't know, son, I'm still paying for it.”

• After a quarrel, a wife said to her husband, “You know, I was a fool when I married you.” The husband replied, “Yes, dear, but I was in love and didn't notice it.”

• A man inserted an advert in the classifieds: ‘Wife wanted’. Next day he received a hundred letters. They all said the same thing: “You can have mine.”

• When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be sure of one thing: either the car is new or the wife.

• When a man steals your wife, there is no better revenge than to let him keep her.

When Albert Einstein was making the rounds of the speaker's circuit, he usually found himself eagerly longing to get back to his laboratory work. One night as they were driving to yet another dinner, Einstein mentioned to his chauffeur (a man who somewhat resembled Einstein in looks & manner) that he was tired of speechmaking.

"I have and idea, boss," his chauffeur said. "I've heard you give this speech so many times. I'll bet I could give it for you."

Einstein laughed loudly and said, "Why not? Let's do it!"

When they arrive at the dinner, Einstein donned the chauffeur's cap and jacket and sat in the back of the room. The chauffeur gave a beautiful rendition of Einstein's speech and even answered a few questions expertly.

Then a supremely pompous professor asked an extremely esoteric question about anti-matter formation, digressing here and there to let everyone in the audience know that he was nobody's fool.

Without missing a beat, the chauffeur fixed the professor with a steely stare and said, "Sir, the answer to that question is so simple that I will let my chauffeur, who is sitting in the back, answer it for me."

IT’s A FUNNY OLD WORLD!

A VERY FRISKY WIFE...

One day, a man came home and was greeted by his wife dressed in stunningly sexy lingerie. "Tiemeup,"shepurred,"Andyoucando anything you want." So he tied her up and went golfing.

A VERY DISTRESSED MAN...

Whilst attending a funeral of a very distant relative, Michael heard a sobbing from a nearby grave followed by the words....

“Why did you have to die? Why did you have to die?”

So Michael made his way over to the grave and said to a very distressed man

“I am sorry for your loss, was it your wife?”

“No said the man tearfully – Why did you have to die?”

Michael asked, “Was it your brother or your sister?”

“No said the man tearfully... Why did you have to die?”

Michael asked, “Was it one of your parents?”

“No said the man tearfully – Why did you have to die?”

Michael asked, “Was it a close friend?”

“No said the man tearfully – Why did you have to die?”

Michael said “forgive me for asking, but if it wasn’t your wife, it wasn’t your brother or sister and it wasn’t a friend, then who died?”

The man turned and said – “My wife’s first husband!”

PASSION CAKE

INGREDIENTS

• 300g Plain flour

• 1 tsp Baking powder

• 2 tsp Bicarbonate of soda

• ¼ tsp Salt

• 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon

• 1 tsp Ground mixed spice

• 100g Golden caster sugar

• 150g Light soft brown sugar

• 250ml Sunflower oil

• 3 medium free-range eggs

• 435ml Pineapple canned in juice, drained and 3 tbsp juice reserved, fruit finely chopped

METHOD

• 1 tsp Vanilla bean paste

• 4 Small carrots (about 300g), grated

• 50g Desiccated coconut

• 60g Walnuts, finely chopped FOR THE ICING

• 250g Unsalted butter, softened

• 200g Icing sugar

• 280g Full-fat cream cheese

• Juice 1 lemon

Unsprayed edible flowers, such as pansies, rose petals or dahlias, to decorate (optional). You can also use rosemary sprigs and/or shaved white chocolate...

STEP 1: Heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas 4. Sift the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt and spices into a large mixing bowl, then stir in the sugars. STEP 2: Combine the oil, eggs, 3 tbsp reserved pineapple juice and vanilla in a small bowl, then stir into the flour mixture. Add the carrots, desiccated coconut, walnuts and chopped pineapple, then mix thoroughly. STEP 3: Divide the batter equally between the prepared tins, then bake for 40-45 minutes until golden, risen and springy to the touch. Remove from the oven and leave in the tin for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and leave to cool completely. STEP 4: To make the icing, mix together the butter and icing sugar in a bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the cream cheese and lemon juice, then beat again until combined and smooth. (Alternatively, whizz everything in a food processor.)

STEP 5: Spread a third of the icing over one cooled sponge, then top with the second sponge. Spread the rest of the icing on top of the cake and all over the sides. Using the edge of a palette knife, scrape the icing around the edge of the cake until you see the sponge coming through. Leave a thick layer of icing on top of the cake. Put the cake in the fridge to firm up for at least 30 minutes or until ready to eat. Take out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving, decorate with edible flowers, if you like, then slice to serve.

A RESTAURANT CLAIMING TO BE RATED NO1.

FOR MARBELLA ROASTS?

THOUGHT WE’D INVESTIGATE….!

Built in 1985, Aloha Pueblo is a lovely urbanisation a few minutes to the north of Puerto Banus designed in the style of a classic Spanish Andalusian town. It's charming and colourful, featuring buildings, archways, water fountains and cobbled streets that really give it quite a magical feel and a wonderful setting to enjoy a social eating moment.

Within the community of apartments and town houses you will discover some hidden gems frequented by residents and “those in the know” such as, bars, restaurants, as well as a bank and a beauty salon, Well, in fact, there is no longer a bank as the old BBVA bank is now a welcoming, stylish restaurant featuring a vault acting as a wine safe, and a cash machine, so it still is, sort of, a Bank… just this one, El Banco, serves food, drink and hospitality in addition to bank notes.

El Banco, positioned on a prominent corner, boasts two terraces with sea views. As you enter, you discover a unique style of industrial bank, dressed with greenery, and decorated in a fresh, modern, yet vintage look which recalls the hallmarks of the old bank but giving it a welcoming, comfortable and cosy feel. Hospitality is provided in abundance with enthusiastic, energetic and efficient service, a big smile, a big hello and a big welcome really goes a long way and you just know you’re going to enjoy the experience from the get go.

The menu represents the best of both worlds offering a contemporary Tapas menu, although it should really be rationes due to the generous portion sizes, and also some international classics from steaks to fish and chips to roasts. Matched with a well stocked back bar and a solid selection of wines matching the dishes, on first impressions, it’s all quite well rounded and considered.

As it was a Sunday, my dining partner and I opted for a combination of a Tapas and a Roast. Pil Pil is a good test of any restaurant, as they do tend to vary in texture, flavour and spice, so we selected a Prawn Pil Pil to share, and I was drawn to the profound claims of the Argentinian Roast Beef (I’ll come back to that) whilst my comrade opted for the roasted chicken.

NUEVA ANDALUCIA 54
La Cala de Mijas

Music played unobtrusively, the drink order of a Hendricks Tonic, was served and properly dressed together with my choice of a cold beer. Our food order was taken, and our conversation flowed, even though the TV was showing sport, it didn’t ruin the atmosphere or the ambience.

Opting for a glass of house red to accompany our meal, which was smooth and not heavy, the Pil Pil arrived, sizzling, with some delicious bread. We dunked. The Pil Pil was perfect for two people with varying taste buds for spice… I like it very spicy, my sharer not so much… it balanced so we

were both happy, so I guess it’s perfect for flavour over chilli. The prawns were just right, not bullets of rubber as you find so many times.. So a great start…

The roasts arrived brimming on the plates, and accompanied by a surprise extra jug of gravy, Everything was cooked to perfection, beef, soft, plentiful and pink, the chicken succulent, crispy skin and a lot of it, crispy yet fluffy roast potatoes, roasted parsnips was a fave and the Yorkies & cauliflower cheese on the side were perfect too!

I also opted to add a side of mash… and I was delighted it was real, fluffy and seasoned correctly. The only disappointment was that when I finished the plate, I felt moorish!

Booking is recommended, and I can see why, it was busy with a great mix of couples, families and small tables of friends, and it was dog friendly. We shall return again and again. We would give El Banco a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Well Being GOODBYE TO GETTING OLDER

AGE CAN BE JUST A NUMBER IF YOU FOLLOW THE BRILLIANTLY SIMPLE LIFE ADVICE BELOW... SO HOW IS IT THAT WE ALL KNOW SOME PEOPLE WHO SEEM ‘OLD’ BEYOND THEIR YEARS, YET OTHERS SEEM TO HAVE A DORIAN GRAY-STYLE PORTRAIT IN THE ATTIC AND BARELY AGE AT ALL? AFTER ALL, THERE’S NO DENYING THAT THE AGEING PROCESS EXISTS. FOR MOST OF US, IT ACTUALLY STARTS IN OUR LATE 20S, AFTER OUR INITIAL BURST OF GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. ONCE WE PEAK, WE MUST ALL FACE A VERY GRADUAL PHYSICAL DECLINE.

AGE REALLY IS JUST A NUMBER:

First, let’s start by addressing how you feel about your true age, whatever it may be. Do you tend to scoff when others tell you: ‘you’re only as old as you feel’? Well, you may have to think again. Because one important element which can make us seem and feel much older than we really are is the social and psychological effect of passing a landmark birthday, such as your 60th or 70th. Some people seem to crumple and give up.

BOOST YOUR ENERGY LEVELS (IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT BE HONEST & ADDRESS THE ISSUE):

Your metabolism is the rate at which the body’s energy from food and oxygen is produced and used, and it is true that it slows a bit as we grow older. To know whether or not you need to lose weight, look in a mirror and BE HONEST! Some people are fortunate and lose weight after retirement as they are no longer tied to desk work, or hours of commuting by car or train, but others may find the pounds start to pile on. As a general rule, remember your weight at the age of 30 and aim for that as your target.

NO EXCUSES FOR NOT STARTING NOW...

Let’s imagine you’re in your 50s or 60s and feel perfectly OK. Even if you develop some long-term condition, fitness remains crucial because disease may reduce your ability to remain as active as you were before.

THE THREE GOLDEN RULES:

No matter what age you are, it’s seldom too late to start regaining some of your youthful energy, strength, flexibility and appearance. There are three crucial elements that will increase your chances of having a relatively trouble-free and independent old age.

• You have to become fitter... Even if you already have one or more long-term conditions.

• You must actively reduce your risk of developing disease

• You need to adopt a positive attitude to life, its problems and opportunities.

A FEW AGE RELATED FACTS YOU MAY NOT EXPECT!

• Optimists DO live longer: Looking on the bright side of life increases your life span.

• Walk 20 minutes a day to live longer: Huge study reveals the benefits of a brisk walk.

• How a couple of glasses of red could help you live longer: A substance found in grapes can protect against age-related diseases.

SOME ODDLY HORRIBLE BUT INTERESTING FACTS…

HANNIBAL LECTER: In the movie Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Lecter never blinks. Apparently, Anthony Hopkins watched a video of Charles Manson being interviewed and he didn’t blink. Acting at its finest.

WANT TO GROW A BEARD FASTER? Think about sex. Since facial hair is largely governed by the production of testosterone, even the anticipation of sex will help you grow a beard faster.

OVERDOSING ON CHOCOLATE: A lethal dose of chocolate is 22 pounds… or 40 Cadburys Dairy Milk bars!

CLEOPATRA: She lived closer in time to the moon landing than to the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

GIRAFFES: A male giraffe will headbutt a female in the bladder until she urinates, then taste her urine to determine whether she is ovulating.

GOOSEBUMPS: Dead people can still get them.

HONEY: Forget the sell by date honey doesn’t go off... You could probably still eat 3000-year-old

honey if you wanted to.

MCDONALDS: McDonalds calls frequent buyers of their food “heavy users.” Ironic!

MOSQUITOS: It would take 1,200,000 mosquitoes, each sucking once, to completely drain the average human of blood.

PLASTIC SURGERY: Worldwide, the United States undergoes the most plastic surgery procedures. Next in line is Mexico then Brazil...

PORN: Surprise, surprise. For every “normal'”webpage, there are five porn pages.

SLEEPING: You burn more calories sleeping than you do watching television.

TURTLES: The Australian Fitzroy river turtle and the North American eastern painted turtle, breathe through their bottoms. Both turtles can breathe through their mouths if they so chose.

TWITTER: In the US the CIA read about 5 million tweets a day, looking for any signs of terrorism. To be honest they are probably just checking Donald Trumps! But be careful what you say!

HELP FOR HORSES

The Andalusian Rescue Centre for Horses and Donkeys (ARCH) is open to the public on Sunday mornings from 10.00am until 2pm. Visitors can meet the current rescue cases and volunteers are happy to share their many and varied stories and talk about the work of the charity. Children (and adults) can pet and groom the gentler donkeys and ponies.

Situated between Coin and Alhaurin el Grande, the Centre was founded 13 years ago and since then has saved the lives of countless abused or abandoned equines. Volunteers come from many walks of life, all age groups and many nationalities – sharing a common passion for horses. Although ARCH works closely with the Spanish authorities (most of the animals rescued come through SEPRONA, the animal welfare arm of the Guardia Civil, or from the local Police), the charity depends on donations, fund raising and on the income from its charity shop in Alhaurin el Grande.

Being involved in rescuing animals is a never-ending and frequently a heart-rending task. As ARCH President Jill Newman-Rogers says “You grieve for the ones you cannot save and then you have to move on to the ones you can. If you lose the battle then at least you know you tried and gave them loving care for their last days.”

But there are many happy endings. Take Tormenta (Storm), for instance...

IT’SELECTRIC…

take a look at the top five on the market.

BMW iX is the company's tech flagship. it features an elegant interior and premium tech integrations. This midsize SUV is spacious, comfortable, surprisingly efficient and ridiculously agile for its size. If you can get past its slightly polarizing design, you may just fall in love with this electric BMW.

The Audi e-tron GT is the sister car to the Porsche Taycan... based on the same VW Group J1 platform and containing much of the same technology – albeit wrapped in an extremely different package. It’s not the first pure-electric Audi of course, that title goes to its ever-growing line-up of e-tron SUVs, but it’s definitely very exciting.

That Hyundai is now confident enough to put a car as bold-looking as the Ioniq 5 on sale is impressive. But the fact this retro XXL hot hatch bodywork conceals one of the most complete family EVs money can buy is remarkable. If Hyundai can maintain this momentum behind the upcoming members of the Ioniq family, then the likes of VW’s ID cars and even Mercedes’s EQ clan ought to be extremely worried.

The Tesla model 3 has been in production since mid-2017, nothing on the market has yet managed to beat it on all fronts. While not without flaws, it is quite simply one of the most interesting, compelling cars in the world right now.

1

Porsche’s Taycan Cross has all the features of a estate car but with extra vava voom. Mechanically, the Cross Turismo is largely identical to the Taycan. The Cross Turismo is the most complete fast estate available today in our option. Not the biggest or most practical by a long chalk, but in terms of its breadth of ability and fulfilling the role it sets out for itself, it is brilliant.
