What is a typical day like in your life?

For me a typical day starts at 5:30 Am, where I meditate and plan my agenda for the day, I make sure that I don’t skip the gym any day because I’m a firm believer in a healthy body constitutes a healthy mind I enjoy preparing breakfast, I love to experiment with new recipes every day, then I usually head for my shoot or promotion and I make sure that I’m always on time because I value time more than anything else, then I usually connect with my team over lunch with whom I’m launching my line of accessories very soon I try to wind up my other meetings by 5 pm as usually my evening is occupied with spending time with family and my acting classes

What does it take to be successful in the field you excel in?

I have always aspired to be an actress and in the world of cinema, success holds a unique definition for every individual, for me success is all about creating an impact on society through my cinematic work I believe diligence and honestly to oneself are key factors to success in any field and the same applies to the field of acting as well

What’s the funniest incident that happened to you?

A couple of my friends and I decided to go out for lunch and couldn’t figure out where, so we started looking up some cool rooftop restaurants so we could get some cute pictures We landed in one beautiful looking place by the lake, we decided to get there dressed all cute. Turns out we got catfished by the restaurant strangely It was a super mediocre buffet place with children running around throwing food and their moms trying to get hold of them. We kept asking them to show us to the rooftop restaurant and they pointed at a kid with ice cream on his shirt with a super straight face. We decided to leave and go to a cafe which we knew was legit this time I know in my heart I’m never trusting Zomato again By this point, all of us were starving and I ordered a baked fish. As it got there and I made everyone wait before they touched their food to click pictures for the gram, I dug into my plate of baked fish and guess what, I mean there was no fish it was just a bowl of cream I called him back to ask where the fish was and he said “I’m sorry ma’am let me get you the fish” just to come back and say I’m sorry we ran out of baked fish

What do you do in your free time?

For me time is an asset, whenever I am blessed with the privilege of some free time, I try to take care of street dogs and provide them with a home, which you can often see on my social handles. Other than that, I sleep and sometimes have “Me time” where I read a book, rejuvenate and get maximum sleep I value time more than money, so I carefully take care of the time I have.

Are you into spirituality?

Yes, I believe in the power of the universe, I consider myself to be a very spiritual person and that is what has made me start my own accessory line where I’m creating fashion statements made out of healing crystals, marrying fashion with spiritual healing. I have personally benefited from reiki healing and crystal therapy

Which is your favorite place in India and abroad where you would like to travel?

There are multiple favorite places in India but I would love to visit Ladakh, Kerala, northeast, Udaipur. Actually, I would love to visit all the places in our country if I get a chance, talking about abroad, I want to do a world tour where I visit all places.

What inspires and motivates you?

People in my life, starting from my parents to my friends When I see my social media every day some or the other thing inspire and motivates us, I look up to every individual who push themselves through hardships and who never give up My mom is my biggest inspiration

If you are given a genie and have to make 2 wishes what will you wish?

If I had 2 wishes I would ask for a world with complete safety for women and second would be for my dog to speak.

What’s your daily dose of happiness?

Coming back to my dog, playing with him is my daily dose of happiness

If you are left in a supermarket and asked to pick up only 3 things what would you pick?

I would probably pick coffee, a bag of chips and chocolates

MOTHER'S DAY SPECIAL

The word mother is synonymous with unconditional love, multitaskers, role model, and more importantly a daughter's best friend. Relationships between a mother and daughter have evolved with the passing of time. There is the conventional stern demeanour that exists, but acceptance and understanding are increasing by a threshold with every up-and-coming generation. Personally, I have grown up in an environment that allows me to share not only the memories that make me happy but the anxieties that I come across, with my mother without a sense of judgement. An open dialogue is the need of the hour to make a relationship stronger in this generation. There are obviously limitations that come across and my mom always tells me that ‘when you become a mother you will understand’ I am sure that every girl has heard this line at least once in their life! So this one’s to all the mothers out there, may the bond with your children grow even stronger and don’t forget to pamper yourself because self-care is as important as caring for your family. Were there any similarities between you and your daughter as a child?

My husband jokingly calls me and my daughter "me and mini me" as we both have bangs and look quite similar today. When I reflect on my childhood, I see a lot of myself in my daughter. Like her, I had bangs when I was a child too. We were outgoing and vocal about our thoughts We never held back from speaking our minds and were always eager to express ourselves.

One thing to keep in mind is that each generation of children is exposed to different experiences and opportunities, which can impact their achievements For example, I do not remember much about my accomplishments at 11 , but my daughter has already published a book of poems called "Undiscovered". It's amazing to see the potential and talent that children today possess and how they are way ahead of where we were at their age Overall, it's important to recognize and appreciate the similarities and differences between ourselves and our children. By understanding their unique personalities, interests, and experiences, we can support and guide them towards achieving their own goals and aspirations

Advice you would have given your younger self about motherhood?

Firstly, prioritize self-care. Being a mother is a tough job and it can be easy to neglect one's own needs while taking care of a child. But it's essential to remember th at taking care of oneself is equally important as taking care of the child. Secondly, don't hesitate to ask for help when needed.

Motherhood can be overwhelming at times and asking for help can make a world of difference Reach out to family, friends, or even hire a babysitter to give yourself a break. This can help relieve some of the stress of motherhood and allow you to recharge your batteries which is beneficial for both the mother and child.

What’s the key to raising strong women in today’s environment?

As a mother to a daughter, I strongly believe that raising strong women in today's environment involves exposing them to strong female role models. Personally, this is something I am passionate about, which led me to co-author a book called "The Dot That Went For A Walk" featuring stories of 51 women role models Showing your daughter women who have achieved great things can inspire her and give her the confidence to pursue her own dreams.

Also, it's crucial to instill in young girls the belief that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to and that they have the power to make a positive impact in the world. Encouraging independence and self-confidence can help build their sense of agency.

Creating a supportive environment is also essential Encouraging open communication and actively listening to their concerns and feelings, validating their experiences and emotions, can help build their self-esteem and resilience.

What is something you and your daughter bond over?

My daughter and I have a strong bond over our shared love for exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. We have been traveling as a family since she was two and have been fortunate enough to visit many amazing destinations around the world. Whether it's walking the walls of Dubrovnik Old Town in Croatia, experiencing Patagonia, or even enjoying the sauna in Finland among others

However, our strongest bond is formed when we visit galleries and museums to see art. I get super excited to share art with her and hear from her what she likes and dislikes about each piece. Our visits to various museums and art galleries have been some of our most cherished moments together, and we always come away from each visit feeling enriched and inspired.

What is your favourite memory together?

Oh, it's impossible to pick just one favourite memory! My daughter and I have had so many amazing experiences together. But, if I had to choose, I'd say that visiting the Museum of Modern art MoMa in New York was definitely one of the highlights Tamaara was particularly excited to see the original works of some of her favourite artists like Frida Kahlo and Salvador Dali, as she had only seen their work in books before. It was so fun to see the excitement in her eyes as we walked through the galleries and discussed the art and stories behind each piece. I loved hearing my daughter's perspective on the different pieces, and seeing how her appreciation for art was developing. It was a truly special moment to share with her and one that I'll always treasure

Were there any similarities between you and your daughters as a child?

I’m a mother of 2 daughters. Mishika just turned 2 and Miraaya just turned 7 months. As for features, my older one is a copy of my husband and I feel the younger one is like me. All mothers want their daughters to have some similarities with them after carrying them for 9 months but mostly they go on the fathers

Advice you would have given your younger self about motherhood

Don't do any less than what you can really do. Don’t limit yourself.

What’s the key to raising strong women in today’s environment?

Firstly, I hate the word scared I want them to experience everything, they should fall for them to get up stronger. In today’s day and age, I want to encourage them to pursue whatever they like, and have a voice in making decisions. will tell them to believe in themselves and be confident, and I will stand along every path. would want them to be free and share every tiny little detail of their life same as I do with my mom should never care what other people think and talk

What is something you and your daughters’ bond over?

It’s the outings, cuddles, story time, and water. We are all water babies, and I am also a kid when it comes to playing with water lol

What is your favourite memory together?

The most wonderful memory till now is when I held them in my hand for the first time and when Mishika held Miraaya for the first time, we have many more years to create lovely and beautiful memories together Being a mother of 2 girls who are 2 under 2 the less of an age gap between them, we will be the best of friends.

Were there any similarities between you and your son as a child?

One thing about us that is quite similar today and when he was younger is that we both view the world as a happy place filled with rainbows and butterflies. And, although there are many things we enjoy doing together, our shared love of desserts and ice creams stands out and we always have a super tough time controlling our sweet tooth!

Advice you would have given your younger self about motherhood

Try being more pally towards your kids rather than establishing authority as a parent. It would help you understand them better and encourage them to confide in you about any issues they face as life unfolds

What’s the key to raising strong women in today’s environment?

Daughters truly are the future and carrier of our legacies. The key to raising a strong woman is to show her how to be one! Be your best self when you’re around her and rest will follow suit.

What is something you and your son bond over?

We bond over movies and books and basically anything that includes storytelling because it gives some reality to our imagination.

What is your favourite memory together?

Scuba diving together this summer definitely has to be my favourite memory with him. The freedom of swimming around in any direction- even upside down if we wanted to is something we both cherish!

MANSI VUPALLA

Were there any similarities between you and twins as a child?

My children have some of my taste buds, they individually like different things that I enjoy Especially my son has a sweet tooth just like me and is super proactive about last minute plans and has an inclination with dad about sports. My daughter is a multitasker and micro manager just like me!

Advice you would have given your younger self about motherhood

It's important to appreciate every stage of your child's development and pay attention to their subtle cues and communication, as they can reveal a lot Remember to stay positive and not worry too much because things have a way of working out in the end. Above all, I would advise my younger self not to be overprotective or micromanage my child's every move like a helicopter mom

What’s the key to raising strong children in today’s environment?

The important thing is to keep our children informed and aware of their surroundings so that they can handle any challenges that come their way with greater ease In this modern era, kids are highly intelligent and quick learners, so we should treat them as mature individuals. Secondly, we must not put too much emphasis on success and teach them to embrace failure as an essential part of life's journey. Encouraging them to move forward despite setbacks will help them build resilience and a positive outlook on life.

What is something you and your twins’ bond over?

My daughter and I enjoy bonding over cooking together, and she also loves helping me out with my work by assisting with candle-making or fabric selection. She is interested in what I do and often expresses a desire to become a businesswoman like me. On the other hand, my son and I bond over quizzes, board games, and reading books together.

What is your favorite memory together?

One of my recent favorite memories was dancing with my kids at a sangeet party. It was heartwarming to see us coordinating and having fun together. Another special memory was hosting an art party for their seventh birthday this April We invited our loved ones and indulged in an art therapy session, which they enjoyed immensely. It was an important event for us, especially after the pandemic's tiresome situation Witnessing their happy smiles was the main agenda, and it was a delightful experience for everyone

Were there any similarities betw daughter as a child?

We exhibit similar behaviour and similar stubbornness has led to a past. Apart from that, we have a organising things and we both ha dancing.

Advice you would have given you motherhood

Respect yourself, that’s the advic younger self. Everything you do, a make, your successes and your fa related to how you feel about you yourself and live with confidence that. Respecting yourself holds th success and living a happy life

What’s the key to raising strong women in today’s environment?

Encourage your daughter to pursue a passion Let her have a voice in making decisions Encourage her to take physical risks

What is something you and your daughter bond over?

We definitely love dancing together and also bond over giving fashion tips and advice to others more than actually shopping

What is your favorite memory together?

As a mother, I have experienced many memorable moments with my children, but one that stands out the most is when my two kids, your brother and you, surprised me with a special gift It was a beautiful Sunday morning, and I was lounging on the couch, sipping my coffee, when my two little ones came running into the room, grinning from ear to ear. At first, I was taken aback and wondered what they were up to, but then they handed me a neatly wrapped gift. I opened it with curiosity and found a handmade card that read "Best Mom Ever." The only thing I look forward to during the summer season are mangoes. I'm not picky with the innumerable varieties the king of fruits offers us, because I've always preferred the classic Benishan/Banginapalli. It's not just easily available and affordable, but many delectable desserts are created out of this particular variety. Talking about desserts, the mango and cream cake at Conçu has been a go-to favourite for ages. My all-time favourite variant Mango will be Suvarnarekha, most prominently seen in Vizag and Andhra but also available across Telugu states. It looks distinctive from the other usual mango varieties. It has a yellow body and a maroon-toned blush around the tip. In the north, it is often referred to as Sundari. A full, ripe suvarnarekha is still firm, and a gentle squeeze brings out the chunky, juicy pulp, which is yum. I usually get my stash of these mangoes from Vizag or the roadside places in KPHB, especially in the lane beside Nexus.

It is obvious that with every changing season, our skin tries to adapt to the new climate, resulting in drastic changes in the texture, feel, and healthiness of our skin. Some of my go-to products for summer are vitamin C serum and sunscreen. My preferred brands for these products would be the Aqualogica sunscreen and the minimalist vitamin C serum.

There’s usually a stigma with men using skincare, but if you ask me, it's just skin, and there's no harm if you're willing to be a little careful with it. The visual effects as well as the action sequences are one to watch out for.
