From stunning sandstone cliffs, diverse flora, ancient indigenous rock art and abundance of wildlife. Each day you will explore different areas from lush oasis, fairyland moss gardens, rare giant ferns, ancient cabbage tree palms and the most spectacular scenery with amazing lookouts and crystal-clear swimming holes. Let’s not forget the prolific wildlife like the Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Whip Tailed Wallabies, Pied Currawongs, the Kookaburra, Bushtail Possums and Goannas. If you’re lucky you might even meet the local Emus, Broglas, Plains Turkey, Echidna, Platypus & Lizards throughout the Gorge.

DAY 6: Carnarvon to Brisbane

After a light breakfast it’s time to hit the road and travel

ITINERARY DAY 1: Arrive Brisbane*

Welcome to capital of Queensland; after checking into your accommodation, it’s time to head out and explore. Take a wander through South Bank, catch a river cat ferry, hire a bike or take the climb on the Story bridge. This river city has so much to offer.

DAY 2: Depart Brisbane

Departing early from Brisbane your adventure starts with a 4WD experience into the "Brigalow Belt” through to Chinchilla. Stopping for lunch (own expense) at Roma before setting off to your accommodation for the next 4 nights in Takarrakka location close to the Carnarvon National Park. Later this evening you will enjoy sunset at Platypus Pools followed by a BBQ dinner.

DAY 3-5: At Carnarvon

Over the next few days you will explore the rugger ranges of Queensland’s central highlands, Carnarvon Gorge.
