Welcome to our community feature. We believe that here on the Sunshine Coast ‘community’ is a big part of who we are. This feature gives some of our local businesses an opportunity to give a shout out to some great businesses, charities and causes in our community and also an opportunity for them say thanks to their team and or clients. The feature gives you an insight into their philosophy on business, on mindset or on community. We are proud to be part of a community that really does look after each other, spending our dollars locally is an important part of that. Business Matters’ community philosophy is very much about encouraging you to understand that we truly believe that in both business and in life, ‘the more you give – the more you get’. We love helping local charities and causes and whilst we can’t help all of them all the time, we certainly pick some great ones to support each year. Our business philosophy is no doubt very obvious, we want to be the positive media, and it is intentional that you won’t read anything negative in the magazine, we want to inspire you by giving you motivation to take your business and life to the next level, and we believe that a big part of that is through connection. MINDSET PHILOSOPHY
One would think that after surfing for so many decades, I’d be able to balance on my surfboard without falling off. Unfortunately that isn’t the case. When the surf is large, the ability to cope with extended periods of being held under water is a fundamental survival skill. Fortunately, with the right training and some practice, ‘mind over matter‘ is of tremendous assistance in such circumstances. The ability to ‘relax’ under water while being tossed about like a rag doll and not to panic and needlessly expend valuable energy and air is truly a triumph of ‘mind over matter’.
