MTS SAMPLES FOUR ROSES On Wednesday, Jan. 22, members of the Mark Twain Society and their friends gathered at the Downtown Clubhouse for a night of bourbon, cigars and camaraderie. Whiskey Ambassador Dan Gardner gave a presentation on Four Roses as well as the overall bourbon industry.

CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK’S DAY WITH MTS Join the Mark Twain Society for a night of Irish whiskey tastings on Wednesday, March 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Price includes tasting of whiskey profiles, cigars provided by Gerard Ezvan of Jon’s Pipe Shop, hors d’oeuvres and garage parking.

FOREVER YOUNG TO FEATURE “THEY WILL RUN” Attend at the Forever Young Club meeting this month to hear a fascinating story of local history. Authors Molly Butterworth and Thomas Eyssell will present their book “They Will Run: The Golden Age of the Automobile in St. Louis.” Since the late 1800s, St. Louis has been home to dozens of automobile makers and numerous manufacturers, large and small. In their book, they describe how St. Louis might have become the center of the automotive industry instead of Detroit were it not for a few quirks in history.
