Page 16

RESILIENCE, VULNERABILITY & CREATIVE EXPRESSION By Taryn Gaudin HAVING JUST WRITTEN, SELF-PUBLISHED AND RELEASED MY FIRST BOOK ‘BODY CONSCIOUS: A WOMAN’S GUIDE TO HOLISTIC PELVIC HEALTH AND FEMININE EMBODIMENT’ I KNOW HOW RESILIENT A WOMAN NEEDS TO BE TO MOVE THROUGH THE DISCOMFORT AND VULNERABILITY OF SHARING HER HEARTS WORK.

T

he writing process itself is full of moments of self-doubt – wondering if this work is valuable, will anyone even read this?, and if they do what will they think of it? Within the pages of Body Conscious I share on topics that are often considered too delicate to talk about – like sexuality, intimacy, pelvic health and femininity. Sharing this book feels raw and exposed. So how do I move past that so that I can share this creative expression with the world?

Connect back to my why: Sharing conversations about women’s health, in particular opening dialogue around topics that are often considered taboo, so that women can feel whole and connected to their body is my why. When I connect to my why, the vulnerability doesn’t dissipate – but it feels so worth it.
