This hybrid class combines the deep stretching and fascial release of Yin Yoga with the deep relaxation of Restorative Yoga. Class may include gentle warmup movements, fascial release using massage balls, Yin postures that are held for long periods of time to encourage the slow and safe opening of connective tissues, supported restorative postures to soothe the nervous system, and guided meditation. Feldenkrais® group classes use slow, mindful movements to achieve powerful effects in terms of strength, flexibility, and holistic integration of body and mind. Unique to Feldenkrais is the focus on daily functional movement such as sitting, walking, standing and lifting. Improving the quality of movement, unnecessary muscular tensions throughout the body can reorganize and release. Changes occur through neuromuscular repatterning that happens in these lessons.
