It is a pleasure to welcome you to our College course guide. Within the guide you will find a wide range of courses which are specifically designed to maximise your future career and/or university choices. Whatever your background and whatever level of study you begin, we are totally focused on your future and will work with you to ensure you are able to reach your goal. Our strong links with industry, business and universities, which provide a wealth of opportunities for our students, is in part why so many of our students go on to exciting careers with high earning potential or further study at top ranking universities. I hear many times from past students about how their time at Oaklands has made a significant and positive impact on their lives – and I am proud to say that many of our past students keep in touch with us and are still very much part of the Oaklands family. We’re fortunate to have two wonderful main campuses, one in Welwyn Garden City and one in St Albans, as well as a third, smaller campus in Borehamwood. Each has a different character and is shaped to provide a highly enjoyable student experience. We are also proud of our nationally recognised centres of excellence in the Creative Industries, Science & Technology, Sports, Hospitality and Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). This year we mark our hundredth year, building on a proud tradition of educating generations of people who are fulfilling their dreams all over the world, having been part of the Oaklands College community. We are very proud of all our past and current students’ successes.

The list is too large to mention in its entirety, but it includes the high proportion of our sporting academy students who go on to represent Great Britain, including four former students Daryll Neita, Reece Prescod, Ama Pipi and Celia Quansah who all competed at the Tokyo Olympic Games, our hospitality students who have careers in many of the country’s top restaurants and our creative industries students who work with some of the biggest global brands in the sector – to name but a handful. I would encourage you to come to one of our open days and get a sense of what it’s like to be a student here. We’re well known for our friendly atmosphere and highly supportive staff and this is one of the many reasons so many people choose to study with us.
