As the COVID-19 virus continues to spread in Orlando, the municipality is working to further expand vaccine opportunities to as many residents as possible. Part of this effort includes establishing mobile vaccination sites in neighborhoods.
Durante las próximas semanas, ocho centros vecinales en la ciudad de Orlando albergarán sitios de vacunación de un día, que ofrecerán las vacunas Pfizer y Johnson & Johnson. Over the next several weeks, eight neighborhood centers in the city of Orlando will host one-day vaccination sites, offering the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. We will also have one-day vaccination sites at the Orlando Police Headquarters, City Hall, and the Orlando Farmers Market in Lake Eola Park. “It is clear that the vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others from the virus and to end the pandemic in our community,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. "It is critical that those who are not vaccinated get the vaccine as soon as possible, therefore the City of Orlando is committed to working with our partners to ensure that the vaccine is accessible to all residents, especially in our neighborhoods." Residents 18 years of age or older are eligible to receive the vaccine. Children 12-17 years old can receive the Pfizer vaccine with the consent of a parent or guardian. It is not necessary to make an appointment. The #IGotMyShot mobile vaccination sites have been made possible through a partnership between the City of Orlando, the Orange County Government, and the Florida Department of Health in Orange County. Working outside the box

In an effort to allow businesses to utilize additional outdoor space as they prioritized social distancing during the pandemic, the downtown Orlando Parklet Pilot Program was created last
Parklets allow downtown businesses to expand their retail sales and restaurant seating operations into adjacent onstreet public parking spaces. Given the success of the parklet program and following other programs nationwide, the Orlando City Council and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) have approved the extension of the parklet program for an additional 3-years.
Nos fuimos a la calle El año pasado, en un esfuerzo por permitir que las empresas utilicen espacio al aire libre para fomentar el distanciamiento social durante la pandemia crearon el Programa Piloto Orlando Parklet en dowtown para ayudar a los negocios locales en su recuperación económica mientras combatíamos COVID-19.
