Cavers Family Wins BMO Award C2 Charolais, the Cavers Family (Jeff, Jackie, Keegan, Fischer and Lukas), of La Riviere, Manitoba, were recipients of one of six BMO Farm Family Awards at the 2022 Royal Manitoba Winter Fair. The BMO Farm Family Award recognizes families who make contributions to the agricultural community and demonstrate a strong commitment and passion to the agricultural way of life. The award focuses on families who utilize new technology, efficiencies and sustainability to grow and build their business while being active community volunteers. C2 Charolais currently manages over 150 purebred Charolais, as well as a commercial herd. The Cavers practice an intense rotational grazing plan, which has increased their grazing capacity in the Pembina Valley. They host their annual bull sale on the farm each year. The Cavers were the 2020 Manitoba Charolais Ambassadors of the Year, 2017 Manitoba Charolais Breeder of the Year and the 2018 CCYA Honouree Award Winners. Jeff is Past President of the MCA and is currently serving as a director for the Canadian Charolais Association, while Jackie is the current Youth Adult Advisor for the MJCA.
