Fitness Swim Contact: Dave Goodman goodman@sfu.ca Tue., Thu., Sat., 6:45-8 AM, AFC pool

The Fitness Swim Club provides a vehicle for swimmers to participate in a group swim workout. We generally swim 2,400 to 3,000 yards per workout, mostly freestyle. Some do more, a few do less. Workouts are suitable for master swimmers, triathletes and those who would just like to participate in swim workouts. Please ensure you have medical clearance to participate in vigorous physical activity prior to joining. We welcome new members.

Pilates Mary Ayers 520-638-7916 scov.pilates@gmail.com Mon., 3 PM, Thu., 1:30 PM, AFC/Studio

Understanding the principles of Pilates takes a little time and patience because some of the exercises are different from other forms of exercise, but they are fun, interesting and challenging. Pilates can actually become addictive. It teaches proper balance, breathing, focus on your core (your abdomen and back muscles) and movement control. The constant movement from one exercise to another results in developing more strength and stamina. Even your posture is improved. Joint flexibility and mobility increase. Two experienced instructors conduct the mat Pilates classes for us and will modify any of the moves for you, if necessary. The cost is only $8/class and the annual club dues are $20 pp. Please stop by and watch a class. Call Mary.

Tai Chi Co-chairs Alice Hutchison 520-329-8090 ahutchison87@gmail.com Cynthia Chaffee 520-342-6437 cynthiachaffee@mac.com Thu., 10-11:30 AM, AFC/Studio 1

Tai chi class will continue for registered students on Thursdays, 10-11:30 AM, AFC/Studio, through March 10 and led by tai chi masters, Jose Hernandez Rivera and Donna Drazenovich. At the request of the instructors, we are all to wear masks and participate in social distancing. A new 10-week class begins on Thursday, March 17. New students are welcome and asked to call Alice Hutchison for information or to register. Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that involves slow focused movements. Because of the benefits for balance, strength, and improved breathing, it is an exercise especially suitable for seniors.
