around the world. In an update to its list of Leadership Principles, bringing the
total to 16, the company added two new entries in July 2021. The first, “strive to be Earth’s best employer,” says that Amazon leaders work to “create a safer, more productive, higher performing, more diverse, and more just work
environment.” The second, focused on scaling sensibly and responsibly, notes “we are big, we impact the world, and we are far from perfect.” Andy Jassy,
who took over as CEO after Jeff Bezos stepped down, hopes to bring about a new employee-first and responsible future for Amazon.
