ANCIENT DESIGNS FOR MODERN HOMES

This impressive ‘v’ shaped floor pattern – believed to originate in Ancient Greece – can be found on uniforms worn by police officers and is commonly used in interior design and heraldry. Chevron flooring gives an illusion of width and length, and is a perfect option for smaller spaces.

Herringbone Early examples of herringbone design can be seen in the intricate jewellery of the Ancient Egyptian elite and in fabric originating in Ancient Italy. Named after its resemblance to the skeleton of a herring fish, the herringbone pattern consists of an arrangement of rectangles in a repetitive pattern which brings a sense of sophistication to any space.
