Friends – welcome, once more, to the precipice. You are about to enter a magical place full of stories, a mythical city soaring high in the sky, a society testament to love and unity. Arcadiana awaits you. What will you do? What winds will you ride? What songs will you sing, and what stories will you weave? Which will be the fruits of your labour, what precious memories made in your atelier? These things will not remain questions for much longer, friends, as we are all about to enter Arcadiana’s blue domain. But first, some important orders of business. To wit: a pitching of tents, a meeting of friends,
and a Gathering of likeminded souls on the hallowed fields of DreamVille. This, truly, is where your combined energy is first released, and a resonance established with the birdsong yonder, across the border to Tomorrowland itself. Feel it, this Thursday: your rapturous cries of joy, your singing along as one to the tunes springing loudly from the speakers – all of it, together, falling into tune with the fabulous sounds lying in wait for the rest of the weekend. It promises to be quite the ride, friends, when we come together and ascend.
Tomorrowland is where electronic music is taken to another, unprecedented level – so prepare to be lifted to new heights during three days of Adscendo. Over the course of this magical weekend, you will submerge yourself in performances by true legends including Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix and Lost Frequencies. This place, where you are right now, is also where you will witness the latest developments in club music; catch Indira Paganotto play her psytranceinfused beats, enjoy an acid-tinged live set by Reinier Zonneveld or surrender yourself to SPFDJ’s punishing techno… or choose another musical direction entirely. This weekend, not even the sky is the limit!
At DreamVille, some drinks are now served in reusable cups with a deposit system. Finished your drink?
Refund your cup at any DreamVille bar. No reusable cups are used on the festival site, so don’t bring your cups to the Holy Grounds!
What to do when you’re done reading this issue of Tomorrowland Today? It’s quite simple: pass it on to a fellow raver, take it home or dispose of it in the recycling bin. Your planet will be grateful!

THE TALES OF THE GUILDS
Thanks to the magic of Amare, the Golden Aurics and all the other birds, Arcadiana is held aloft in the sky, light as a feather forever. But the thing that makes this soaring city tick is its guilds: five associations of expert craftspeople working together to provide each other with food, housing, art, and all the other ingredients of a meaningful life. Now that you are welcomed into this harmonious domain, it’s decision time… How will you contribute? Which guild will you call home? Today, the Labourers’ Guild makes its case for you to join them.

LIQUID GOLD

First came the stages and the camping ground, but at long last, your favourite festival now even has its own vineyard. The grapes used for the Solo Vida sparkling wine come from a sacred place, a hidden gem, far away from the worries of daily life. Surrounded by mountains and a mysterious 10th-century castle full of old stories, Solo Vida finds its origin in a valley of unrivalled natural beauty. Produced with nothing but love, Solo Vida is a pleasure to the eye, a blessing to the nose and a feast on the palate. Order a box of Solo Vida (6 x 750ml for €195) or a single bottle of Solo Vida Reserva Premium in an exclusive Tomorrowlandsupervised gift packaging (750ml for €48) at www.solovida.com.
THE GRAND RETURN
THE GREATEST LIBRARY
Every year, again and again, the Mainstage instantly wows, brings out goosebumps and cues tears of joy. But did you know that it takes approximately two years to design and create one magical Mainstage?
This year, next to the Tomorrowland Store behind the Mainstage itself, you can find the exclusive Great Library Studios, an art gallery that gives you behind the scenes access to the design process. Here, you will find hand-drawn sketches, written storylines and ideas, and an exclusive insight into the craftsmanship of the creative team behind your beloved stage. You can even take a piece of festival history home with you, as some highly exclusive sketches are available onsite via a QR code. They will be safely shipped to your home address, so you don’t have to carry these precious pieces of art around for the rest of the weekend.
After a lengthy hiatus, the long-awaited return of Tomorrowland Brasil is finally around the corner. In 2015 and 2016, thousands of passionate music lovers from around the world gathered in Brazil already, eager to immerse themselves in the vibrant melodies and awe-inspiring stages for an unforgettable experience. And indeed, it was so unforgettable that the legend lives on until today.
Returning after six years, this year’s sold-out edition will once again take place in Parque Maeda, in the heart of Itu, São Paulo: a whimsical realm where nature’s embrace intertwines with the enchanting melodies of tomorrow. The line-up is as impressive as it is diverse, with top-tier DJs and cutting-edge decors and visuals casting spells of awe, urging visitors to live up to the tales of yore. It’s quite clear, then: from October 12-14, a celebration of music and togetherness will warm the hearts of the lucky ones down in sunny Brazil.
DESERT DREAMS
The land of the sun, Dubai, is where glamping meets festival vibes and where mouthwatering dishes meet enchanting encounters. Terra Solis can look back on an incredibly fulfilling first season, hosting adventurers from all over the world and welcoming artists like Paul Kalkbrenner, Kölsch and Patrice Bäumel to a music-filled oasis.
A MAGICAL MIRAGE
MAGIC ON IBIZA
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have forever changed Wednesday nights in Ibiza since they first set foot in Ushuaïa, the island’s most fabulous club. Aptly named after the capital city of Argentina’s remote Tierra del Fuego area, the open-air beach club is a sight to behold on any given day, but it becomes truly breathtaking when the two brothers hit the decks for some unparalleled dance floor entertainment under the creative supervision of your favourite festival, Tomorrowland. Should you start feeling homesick for the Holy Grounds later this summer, there is no reason to despair, as the Dimi & Mike takeover happens most Wednesdays at Ushuaïa until the 27th of September.
Hidden in plain sight in the middle of a desert landscape lies the mirage of Terra Solis. It’s like fate brought you to this slice of promised land, where travellers can escape the real world and catch their breath. As if you’ve landed in a fairytale, you can bathe in luxury in a private poolside cabin or immersive yourself in the glamping experience at one of the various oriental-chic abodes.
Terra Solis’ plentitude of Tomorrowland elements, from the lineup to the ambiance, will make the People of Tomorrow will feel right at home. Book a short or long term stay to truly get away from life’s hustle and bustle, or just drop by for a day at the pool. Vibe to all-day-every-day live DJs, hang out with old and new friends in the shisha lounge and grab a bite at the poolside restaurant. A day at this magical oasis will make you want to stay indefinitely, and sadly that’s not possible – but at least, you’ll leave with your energy reset to a higher frequency.

ADSCENDO 12
ADSCENDO, ARISE!
The story of Adscendo is also the story of Ro, Ameris, Tomas, and their mythical winged friends – the main characters in ‘The Rise of Adscendo’, the first ever full-length Tomorrowland novel, which records the events leading up to Arcadiana’s present society. This weekend, every day, we reveal a few pages of the book’s first chapter. If you want to experience the whole epic story – all 374 pages of it – the second printing of the book can be ordered through the online or onsite Tomorrowland Store, while copies last. And rumour has it this is only the first of many Tomorrowland Tales…
Part
CHAPTER ONE
The alarm bell hit Ro like a punch to the guts. She was on her feet running out of the mess hall before she even realised what was happening. As she raced to the muster point before the stone docking jetties on the heights of Mount Nest, the jolt of adrenaline made her heart pound in her throat.
“What is it?” Derren Loft shouted, his voice still bleary from sleep. How he’d been able to sleep was beyond her. Whenever she was on duty she couldn’t even close her eyes.
Emergency calls like this were common. No one slept for long. Seasoned hands didn’t even try.
“Calm yourself.” She dragged Derren along behind her in the right direction. He pulled himself free and glared at her in that way all the new Windriders learned to do pretty soon after they’d got to active duty. She was used to it by now. No one wanted too close an association with any member of the Swift family. “We’ll be there soon enough.”
“Yeah, but… what’s the shout? It’s barely dawn.”
Barely dawn or barely dusk, it didn’t matter. They were on call and that was that. She grabbed her flight jacket from the hook beside the gleaming brass pole and slipped into it. The flaps hung beneath her arms, pulling them down with the weight of the material. Plain, functional, lifesavers. The flight jacket felt like a second skin to her.
“All hands to stations,” the aeronaut called from their designated balloon and Ro jumped for the pole, wrapping her legs around its sleek surface as she slid into the gondola of the balloon.
Derren landed beside her with less grace. Trying not to be too obvious about it, she kept him upright to check he’d put the jacket on correctly. Another scowl told her he didn’t want her help. Great. Just great.
The balloon lurched upwards, loosening its tethers on the cliffs of Mount Nest, home of the Windriders’ Guild, and the highest point of the city of Arcadiana and its surrounding islands. As they rose, she gazed at her home, the walled city occupying the whole of the central island. Beyond it the ocean speckled with its attendant islands.
The gondola was higher than the Aviary in moments. The Aviary, the home of the Birdsingers, was the only Guildhouse which
reached almost as high as her own. Beneath them the city spread out with its spiderweb of irrigation channels, its slate roofs gleaming in the dawn. Gold decorations on the blue and red walls flickered into life with the sun.
The shadow of one of the soaring isles passed across the harbour beneath them and on out to the ocean. One of the higher ones, she figured, far above them, floating in the air. She squinted up but saw nothing except a shadow in the distance.
Dark and ominous, the huge floating mountains ranged across the sky, far above her island home, but they were beautiful as well, some bare rock, some covered in vegetation.
All around them balloons were rising, patterned and brightly decorated, lifting broad gondolas beneath them. It would look festive if she didn’t know that they were all Emergency Response teams.
A flock of gulls flew around the balloons and she glanced at the Birdsinger standing with the aeronaut on the raised dais in the centre of the gondola. Young, probably a friend of Saran’s, but not someone she knew. Her brother didn’t exactly socialise with her. He never had the time.
The Birdsinger said something to Windrider Gayle and pointed east. “Stand by,” Gayle shouted. Ro watched the osprey who aided him in his work rising high above them on an updraft and then dropping again to guide them. Gayle might have smiled—no more than a tightening of his grim mouth really—and then the balloon followed the bird and caught the breeze it had detected.
It didn’t take long to reach Ilana, an outer island in the archipelago.
Two balloons were already there, hovering over the crash site, and the crew looked like ants on the ground beneath them. Individual Windriders descended through the air, arms outstretched as they glided in formation with each other towards the scene. A third balloon was down, the great red and white punctured envelope billowing out across the field in which it had crashed like a blood-soaked flag. The gondola looked like kindling spread across the ground. There were boulders strewn across the scene.

MUSIC & ARTS FOR THE NEW GENERATION
The positive energy and love generated by the people attending the festival inspired Tomorrowland to found the Tomorrowland Foundation. The Foundation focuses on supporting non-profit organisations. They give young people living in poor communities the chance to express them-selves creatively through music, dance, and art, building up their self-esteem and independence in the process.
Last December, the Foundation teamed up with Kolkata (India)-based NGO Ek Tara. Together they opened a Tomorrowland Foundation Music & Arts School there, the second of its kind in the world, with the other one being in Nepal. This school offers classes in music, dance, arts, theatre and other visual and performing arts to girls and women living in the largest slum communities of the city. It gives vulnerable children a chance to express themselves creatively, work on their self-esteem, and create avenues to explore their talents and interests. All of these things, coupled with proper education, will hopefully enable these children to break out of the cycle of poverty and lead dignified lives as contributing members of society.
Thanks to your support, the Tomorrowland Foundation can give long-term support to organisations and is already planning the opening of new Music & Arts Schools all over the world, including new, yet-to-bedisclosed locations in Brazil and Africa. But the support that the Tomorrowland Foundation gives to its partners is not limited to financial means. They also help them spread the message of ‘Transforming the life of the poorest children and youngsters through education and empowerment’. With Tomorrowland championing this cause, hopefully, more and more people will work towards lifting children out of poverty.
DO SOMETHING GOOD TODAY, THAT TOMORROW WILL THANK YOU FOR
HOW TO CONTRIBUTE
The Tomorrowland Foundation is funded through various channels, and you can also contribute in different ways. You could buy an item from the Tomorrowland Foundation Collection at one of the Tomorrowland Stores onsite or in the webshop, for instance, or offer some of your leftover Pearls when requesting you refund. On top of that, there’s the option of giving a spontaneous donation via the Tomorrowland Foundation website: foundation.tomorrowland.com. Thank you!

TANTALISINGLY TASTY MEMORIES
Taste and memories share a profound connection. A single bite of a scrumptious dish can transport us back in time, unlocking a flood of nostalgic emotions. The tang of a foreign holiday beverage, the aroma of a home-cooked meal, or the sensation of a sweet summer festival weekend with your best friends — taste has the power to evoke vivid memories that linger in our hearts. Luckily, Tomorrowland provides you with all the Tastes of the World, so that not only you can look for dishes that taste just like home, but you can also set out on a tantalising adventure making new memories for your tastebuds.
ASIAN STREETFOOD BY CHEF TON
Tomorrowland’s own Mesa Restaurant is popping up on the Holy Grounds once again, this year at a new location overlooking the Mainstage. Mesa has invited Ghent-based chefs Eric Ivanidis and Marcelo Ballardin from Door73 to set up a culinary wonderland that will mix magic and taste like no other. With impressive views of the Mainstage, its foodsharing concept and elaborate cocktail menu will take you on a journey of flavours around the globe. From fusion cuisine that blends diverse culinary traditions to artistic presentations that are a feast to the eye, every dish is a work of edible art, whether you opt for a regular menu or the deluxe formula. The unique blend of music, food and views means this where strangers become friends over shared meals.
The word “baan” means home in Thai. When people want to know about our each other stories, they want to know about it; indeed, home is where the heart is. And no one knows that better than Chef Ton, the award-winning chef of Asia’s Best Restaurant 2023, ‘Le Du’ in Bangkok. Ton is the executive chef and owner of this 1 Michelin star, progressive Thai restaurant, and also runs ‘Baan’ as well as other venues. The culinary king of Asia developed a passion for cooking after growing up on his mother’s and grandmother’s delicious home-cooked meals, and locked that inspiration in his heart forever. At his Streetfood stand, you can get a delicious taste of hime!
Quiz time! How do you spell summer? Yes, that is B-B-Q, of course! With a commitment to quality ingredients, BRASA embodies a deep passion for exceptional grilled cuisine.
Hosted by De Laet & Van Haver, well-known throughout Belgium for their high-end Butcher’s Store, this BBQ experience delights festivalgoers with a mouthwatering array of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, all cooked to perfection over an open fire. Located at a spot surrounded by water, swimming in cosy beats and alluring scents, BRASA is summer vibes at their best.
GAGGAN ANAND
The internationally renowned, award-winning chef Gaggan Anand enjoyed his Tomorrowland debut so much that he couldn’t wait for this year’s edition. Surely, you too are happy to have him back, especially because he is bringing his new restaurant concept of Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh for you to try. Always on the high-end frontiers of Asian cuisine, Gaggan seamlessly mixes his Indian roots with the vibrant flavours of Mexican cooking: it’s a culinary marvel where spices from India dance with the zesty ingredients of Mexico in one harmonious fusion. Head to his foodstand at the Mesa Garden to try this explosion of worldly flavours that merge the rich traditions of both cultures into a symphony of taste.

SOLO VIDA SORBET
I scream, you scream, we all scream for Solo Vida ice cream! Especially after some sundrenched dancing, you might need a lick – be it to beat the heat or to instantly induce that particular kind of happiness that only a sweet, fresh sorbet can give you. Tomorrowland’s very own Solo Vida is a sparkling wine that embodies celebration and joy, perfect for toasting to special moments with friends. Mix this with the invigoratingly crisp and slightly tart taste of green apple, and you have a winning combination of refreshing flavours to make mouth-watering ice cream. Get your fix at one of the three ice cream stands around the festival site or at the Fountainbar.
PAPILLON COCKTAIL EXPERIENCE
Matthias Giroud’s new Papillon Cocktail
Experience elevates the art of mixology: right from the moment you put on your headphones, you are transported to a world of flavour and history. Knowledgeable mixologists whisper the origins, ingredients, and nuances of your cocktail into your ears. It’s a multisensory journey that allows you to appreciate not only the taste but also the story behind each sip. The Papillon Cocktail Experience creates a captivating fusion of tastes, education, and entertainment. And if you would prefer to order nothing but a splendid drink, the mixologists won’t disappoint, either.
MAMA SHABZ WINE BAR
To wine or not to wine, that is indeed a rhetorical question. Head to the Mesa Garden to immerse yourself in festival vibes in a unique way, at this haven for wine enthusiasts seeking enchanted tannins. Set against a backdrop of music, lights, and laughter, the Wine Boutique offers a sensory escape with each sip. Serving a la carte wines from all around the world, you will be transported on a journey of velvety reds, vibrant whites, and sparkling delights. The Wine Boutique is a sanctuary of joy and connection, where new friends and memories are made amidst the magic of liquid artistry.
Are you one of the lucky Global Journey travellers? Let Shabnam Syed pamper you on Detox Monday, then, because you didn’t think that detox meant you’d have to fast, did you? Chosen as Food Talent for the Remember the Name platform, Shabnam runs her own restaurant in Berlin called Mama Shabz. That sums it up best; mama-style homecooked food which brings the best of her Pakistani roots to the table. So if your body needs a remedy after a weekend of full-on partying, let Mama Shabz work her magic, and may her nutrient-rich concoctions heal your soul.
THE RITUALS OF TEA
If you prefer slow brew over a quick cuppa, and are lucky enough to have obtained a voucher, you can enjoy the serene experience of the Goodmorning Tea Ceremony, hosted by tea curator Farah Soeleimansjah. Delicate aromas fill the air, time slows down and warm flavours dance on the palate during a ritual based all around the age-old drink. Here, sipping a brew becomes soothing and invigorating at the same time. The ritualised pouring and steeping are like a mindfulness practice, where the sharing of tea is a bonding experience that creates a sense of harmony. If you have a voucher, gather at the Chill Out Bar at 10:30, from where you will be guided to the Secret Forest. It’s the right place for a moment to cherish and connect over a tranquil tea ceremony, together.
THE BEST OF BELGIUM
Proud to show off your Belgian roots to your newly made international friends? Or just looking to taste the best of Belgium now that you’re here? A myriad of local delicacies can be found at this quintessentially Belgian festival.
VAN TRICHT
KAASAFFINEURS
Kaasaffineurs van Tricht are master cheese affineurs, renowned for their exceptional and refined selections. Let them prove to you that Belgium, though sandwiched between heavyweights France and the Netherlands, is no lightweight of its own when it comes to all things cheese.
BALLS & GLORY
A long-time festival favourite, Balls & Glory brings its own unique take on Belgian cuisine in the form of large, delectable and handmade meatballs. With their crispy exterior and savoury, tender interior, these balls nourish the soul like only comfort food can.
SWA & MARIEKE
The question of French or Belgian is as old as fries themselves, but regardless of roots, you haven’t really experienced Belgium to its fullest if you haven’t dug into a lifesize portion of this yellow gold. Local legends Swa & Marieke bring the infamous ‘frituur-cultuur’ to life in a way that you simply cannot miss out on.
GAUFRES & WAFFLES
Brussels is the very heart of Belgium, and so it’s a fitting home to Gaufres & Waffles. Lifting the unassuming and quintessentially Belgian waffle to the status of ‘real meal’ with the help of chef Yves Mattagne, they have savoury and sweet takes on the Brussels waffle for you to try.

Available online as well as at the DreamVille Tomorrowland Store, its fragrance will make you relive your favourite festival moments again and again. With a diffuser and candles varying from small to XXL, this gourmet home fragrance has notes of lily of the valley and moss, referring to the legendary tale of the Elixir of Life. The stunning designs are silk-screen prints, reminiscent of the art nouveau style found around the Holy Grounds. And just like that, Baobab brings the fragrance and look of Tomorrowland to your home.

THE ADSCENDO BLUES
The colour blue is often associated with tranquillity; the depths of the ocean, the infinite expanse of the skies, and the serenity of gazing far beyond the horizon. It is a colour with deep spiritual meaning, believed to enhance intuition and inner peace. Perhaps it is no wonder that blue is also the colour of the Children of Amare, the Golden Aurics. With shades of midnight to turquoise and everything in between, their lush plumage can be found symbolised on the Adscendo Collection, which was inspired by this year’s theme. Boasting four different T-shirt designs, two sweatshirts, a hoodie and a cap, the Adscendo Collection is exclusively available this year only, making it the ultimate relic of your 2023 festival memories. Take home a piece in Adscendo blue, to beat the post-Tomorrowland blues!
WAVE FOR TOMORROW
As a universal symbol of unity, the Tomorrowland flag represents the spirit of its loving people. With its vibrant colours and futuristic design, the flag captures the essence of humanity: a mix of limitless love with a sprinkle of adventure and a dash of boundless imagination. Bringing home the Tomorrowland Flag is like taking a piece of magic, a symbol of unforgettable memories and incredible experiences. It serves as a constant reminder of a dream come true: celebrating music with the loving community that gathers here. And by buying it, you share: every flag sold financially supports Love Tomorrow initiatives.

Make the most of your time here by dropping by the Tomorrowland Store, so you can feel the quality of the items with your own hands and fall in love with your favourite piece. See the floorplans on p. 10 and 18 for locations, and p. 9 for the DreamVille Marketplace store opening hours. At the festival site, stores are opened all day.

WRISTBAND WORKINGS
Though a real collector’s item, your Tomorrowland bracelet grants you more than mere access to your favourite yearly gathering. As this is a cashless festival, your bracelet is also your sole tool to get your friends a round of drinks or to add unique items to your festival apparel collection. Dive into the workings of your wristband here!
When topped up, your cashless bracelet has the only valid local currency on it: Pearls. It is strongly advised to top up online to avoid queues. You can do so from the comfort of your DreamVille abode through your Tomorrowland account. There are also top-up booths on-site at both the festival as well as on DreamVille; you can always find them on the map.
COMING TOGETHER FOR TOMORROW
The Love Tomorrow Conference returns to Tomorrowland this year on July 27th between the two festival weekends. Love Tomorrow is a sustainability conference with inspiring talks, workshops, a fashion show, a sustainable job fair, and much more. Last year, this sustainability conference on the Freedom Stage was instantly sold out, and featured speakers such as Yuval Noah Harari, writer of international bestseller ‘Sapiens’. This year, speakers include historian Rutger Bregman, futurist Thomas Ermacora, mind medicine advocate Khaliya, Fantastic Fungi creator Louie Schwartzberg, and many more. Themes range from the environment and sustainability to physical and mental health, as well as technology and the future of our daily lives. This year, the Love Tomorrow Conference takes place at not one, but six locations around the Holy Grounds – almost half the festival site – making it a true festival of sustainability! Last year’s conference is streamable in full on the official Tomorrowland YouTube channel, and tickets for this year are still available at lovetomorrow.com.
THE RISE OF ADSCENDO
Tomorrowland has always had more of a narrative behind it than any other festival. From the sunken city of Planaxis to the futuristic fanfare of The Reflection of Love, every year the festival takes place in a unique world, full of characters, charms and quirks. Those worlds typically have way more stories to tell than even the Mainstage shows provide room for – and so, at long last, this year, the tale of Adscendo is also told in a full-length book. Written by Tomorrowland in collaboration with an international team of talented fantasy writers, you can order it through store.tomorrowland.com and at the onsite Tomorrowland Stores. Turn the pages and fall in love with Windrider Ro and her colourful cast of friends as they discover a world of Golden Aurics and magic, and come together to restore harmony to the realm. And once you’ve finished this, be sure to keep an eye out at your local bookstore for the Tomorrowland Trilogy scheduled for Fall 2024…
Pearls are only valid for one weekend and cannot be transferred to another weekend. Online topups will be automatically refunded post-festival for a transaction fee of 2 Pearls. If your first topup was on site, you can apply for a refund via a manual transaction form instead. Did you score pre-festival Bonus Pearls? Please know that these cannot be refunded, so you’d best make sure you spend them on something worthwhile while you’re still here!
GREASE IT GOOD
You’re hot, hotter, hottest - just not quite as hot as the searing sun, which is always liable to appear at unexpected moments. With Belgian weather, well, you never truly know. So come prepared and lather up before you go. Smear it thick, grease it good, protect your skin just like you should!
THE MAGIC OF THE MOUNTAINS
Have you ever experienced the true essence of winter? The third edition of Tomorrowland Winter took place earlier this year, and nothing says magic quite like celebrating life at a mountaintop with a flutter of snowflakes falling from the sky. With over 100 artists and festivalgoers from around the globe united on the mystical slopes of the French Alps, the Winter edition brings a truly unique festival experience. And the best news is that the story continues in 2024!
Whether you’re an expert skier or a novice boarder, or anything in between, the mountains have plenty to offer. Dance with a spectacular view at the highest stage at 3,330m, enjoy an extraordinary lunch in an actual ski lift restaurant, hit the easy or the expert slopes, join the daily ‘Start to DJ’ workshops and inspiring artist sessions at the Tomorrowland Academy, and see all your favourite Tomorrowland artists perform. Be part of the new frozen chapter and celebrate Winter from March 16 - 23, 2024; more info will be available from September on the official Tomorrowland website.
LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR
Tomorrowland is best enjoyed together, and being kind and respectful towards each other makes it all even better! Everyone is here for the same reasons – because they love great music and having a great time – so it should be pretty easy to get along. Remember to always be kind, smile and wave at your neighbour, but also to respect each other’s space and privacy. Clearing up after yourself is also generally appreciated by your fellow ravers, so please do so, and remember: putting your rubbish in the bin is more fun at Tomorrowland than it is at home!

What’s that, falling from the sky, you ask? It’s not a Golden Auric, it’s not an airplane... so what could it actually be, then? Prefer to get a little closer to the action? Head to the movement on the ground and join the Red Bull DreamVille Parade, which goes from the Marketplace to the Holy Grounds every day at 13:00 sharp. AMBER BROOS’ ESSENTIALS
Belgian up-and-comer Amber Broos dropped the massive techno track ‘Amok’ on Tomorrowland Music just a couple of weeks back. It comes highly recommended, as it’s a festival summer essential! But what is essential for the young DJ/producer herself this summer? We decided to just ask away.
What’s essential at Tomorrowland and what’s the best moment to use it?
“My rave boots. At Tomorrowland, you have to be able to dance all day and cover kilometers of the festival grounds without getting blisters. That’s why I always put on my rave boots, which are very comfortable and rugged. They can also withstand the rain. I recommend choosing shoes which you don’t mind being dirty by the next morning.”
What song is essential in your set? And why?
“DJ Hyperactive – ‘Wide Open (Len Faki DJ Edit)’. This is a song I have
been playing for a very long time. When I first heard it, I immediately fell in love with it. There is so much energy in the song and the audience always responds well to it. I can say it’s one of the tracks that helped define my style.”
What’s essential within the group of friends who are joining you to Tomorrowland? And why?
“A disposable camera. In my group of friends, we always take a disposable camera to festivals to have memories afterwards. Not only is it nice to capture the moment, it’s also a fun surprise whether the photos come out successful or not. The photos we have taken this way are truly legendary.”

DRUMCODE | ATMOSPHERE
The name Drumcode says it all: this is where you go if you like it heavy on the beat. Hosting Atmosphere today is one of Sweden’s longest established techno labels, founded in 1996 by Adam Beyer. Highlights on the program include Eli Brown, known for his gritty, twisted and dancefloor-tailored house productions; Oliver Heldens aka HI-LO versus Layton Giordani playing a nu-school techno set; and the uncrowned Dutch king of smooth techno, Joris Voorn. And the Drumcode line-up wouldn’t be complete without a smashing closing set by Mr. Beyer himself. If you love your techno, then definitely reserve a few hours for Atmosphere today.
STAGE HOSTINGS
SATURDAY 22 JULY
AFTERLIFE | FREEDOM
Berlin’s excellent Afterlife Records has grown to become one of the most incredible and most respected imprints when it comes to uplifting, mind-bending and tranceinfused techno. It’s a platform for music that truly takes your mind to another level, makes your feet go wonky, your head go woozy and your stomach feel bassy. They’re naturally bringing along some of the strongest artists from their stunning roster, one of them being Berlin-based producer Kevin de Vries, who recently released an excellent cut entitled ‘Gate’, together with Kölsch. Closing the stage are Afterlife label bosses Tale of Us themselves.
Q-DANCE | FREEDOM
Q-dance are the people behind Defqon.1, the world-famous festival celebrating the harder styles of electronic dance music. With their excellent approach to organising raves and festivals, they’ve played a key role in making hardstyle and hardcore hipper than they ever were before. Whereas gabber fans looked kind of wild in the 1990s, those fast & accurate beats are now welcomed by ravers of all sorts. So if you’re unfamiliar with these staggering BPMs, get yourself together and give it a try! Keep an eye out for sets by Frequencerz, Outsiders, MANDY, Brennan Heart and Angerfist.

RIDING THE AIRWAVES
Originally launched as a pop-up activation, One World Radio is now a household name. With live broadcasts from all Tomorrowland events, reruns of the best sets, interviews with all your favourite artists, and the best radio hosts, it has become a globally adored radio network with avid listeners from every electronic music genre. Coming at you live from the Holy Grounds again, One World Radio will broadcast from the onsite studio this year. This way, your friends can tune in from the comfort of their homes, your nan can vibe along real-time to your magical Tomorrowland experience, and you know where to go to get (very) close to your favourite DJs!
Come In Live
Wait, do you really know where to go, though? The One World Radio Studio is situated right next to the Rave Cave stage and has an open-door policy. Quite literally, as the hosts’ temporary abode is covered in posters saying ‘come in!’ Entrance is free, of course, and it not only allows you to take a peek behind the scenes of professional radio making, but it also lets you get nerve-wrackingly close to your musical heroes. Drop by and who knows who you might bump into!
People you can be sure to encounter, whatever else happens, are the three hosts. The always-chatty Adam K, the ever-chill Justin Wilkes, and the newest addition to the team, Ben Malone, take turns in getting the latest musical scoops from artists about to hit the stage and capturing the ultimate highs of those who have just finished their sets. You can even be part of the radio interviews yourself by dropping your questions via the One World Radio website, app or social media pages. And the app and website streams are not just the go-to way to feel present for those who aren’t physically here, they’re also the only way to experience The Gathering for all without DreamVille access.
Hosts with the Most
Familiar to many already, the One World Radio hosts have been an active part of the Tomorrowland community for years. They are the voices (and faces) of the global broadcasts, but also performing DJs themselves. When they aren’t on the ones and twos on the radio studio mic, you can catch them turning up the volume in a different way – behind the decks at a Tomorrowland stage.

Ben Malone
The newest addition to the One World Radio team is Ben Malone. Though he has been the host of the ‘Your Friday’ and ‘Your Weekend’ radio shows since last year, this will be his first time hosting live from the Holy Grounds. Let’s catch up with him to find out how excited he is about hearing Tomorrowland veterans’ as well as new artists’ Adscendo journeys.
Hi Ben! Tell us a little about your One World Radio shows.
“I host ‘Your Friday’, which is the kickoff of the weekend with the very best current and new Tomorrowland anthems from all over the world, and a real focus on new and developing artists. On Saturdays and Sundays, I host Your Weekend, where we cover everything from old to new stuff. We relive moments from the Tomorrowland Mainstage and bring a variety of classics, new stuff, and everything in between.”
How do you feel about your live Tomorrowland broadcasting debut?
“I’m super excited. I think it’s gonna be quite intense because there are loads of artists who will be dropping into the studio, and with live radio, you never know what’s gonna happen, right? It’ll be interesting to see how that all pieces together, but I have no doubt it’s going be a really exciting weekend of broadcasting from the festival. We will have some of the biggest artists in the world
as well as a lot of new artists dropping by the studio. As this is the first weekend for both the veterans and the new ones, it’ll be fun to capture everyone’s initial reaction to seeing the Mainstage for the first time! It will be lovely to give listeners exclusive access to exactly what is going down on each stage as and when it’s happening, right in the moment. It is the best way to be involved for people who can’t be here themselves.”
Anything specific that you are really looking forward to, or that you are hoping for?
“I think for me, my bucket list interview artists would be Eric Prydz and Anyma, who’s one half of Tale of Us. I love Eric Prydz because he has held a special place in my heart since the first time I ever went to Ibiza. I went to his headline show on the last night of my trip and he played an incredible set, and he’s been a real icon for me ever since. It was the first time I’d ever really heard more progressive music in a live capacity. It blew my mind and just made me fall in love with dance music. Like Eric, Anyma always brings an incredible visual experience as well. His vision and what he has created in the last 12 months is really special. Fingers crossed I’ll get to have a chat with him!”

THE GATHERING DESCEND INTO THE MADNESS
Here we are, finally – at the very edge of the Holy Grounds. You have come from far and wide to witness the story of Adscendo, to be free like a bird, to fly like an eagle and simply to have the greatest of all times. Setting up camp early is always a great idea, especially at Tomorrowland’s campground, DreamVille, as it enables you to start the pre-partying right now! You’ll have a great warm-up and you’ll get a first taste of the madness at the very first official rave here in Boom: The Gathering.
When you imagine a pre-party you would probably think of a modest event, a place where you hug your friends and have a first drink, nod your head to the music and try out a few first moves. Those things are certainly all possible at The Gathering, of course, but expect a lot more than a tiny little dance or you’ll be in shock for the rest of your weekend. With a capacity of 30,000 ravers, The Gathering is a festival in its own right. It is where you will bump into fellow People of Tomorrow whom you met last year, or never before. It is where old friendships are renewed and where new pals are made to the soundtrack of highly energetic beats, driving basslines and euphoric melodies. The Gathering, in other words, is Tomorrowland in a
nutshell, with a line-up so sweet you might mistake it for honey. One set to definitely look forward to is Maxim Lany’s, an artist whose deep and hypnotic productions have been widely supported by the likes of Solomun, Tale of Us, Kölsch and Agoria. The Gathering is also an excellent place to sample what’s great about Belgian rave music: young and gifted DJs from the country including DJ Kaspa and wonder child Amber Broos draw inspiration from the ecstatic, pumping 1990s, and it’s easy to hear those influences in their sets. So while some may want to sit back and relax on the campsite after such a long journey, we recommend you sort yourself out as soon as possible and gather your friends to head to the Gathering.
MEET ME MIDDLE RIGHT
Whilst The Gathering is a big rave, it isn’t as big as the Tomorrowland festival grounds. It is therefore a relatively suitable place to first meet up with your friends from back home or abroad. In other words, it’s the ideal site for hellos and hugs (or footshakes and elbow bumps, if you’re still into those!). Our tip of the day is to pick a landmark and turn it into your designated meetup area. This approach will save you a lot of trouble when your battery runs flat. And don’t all say “meet me front left,” or it’ll get too crowded down there!

FIRST TIME’S A CHARM
There’s a bunch of them on the line-up every single year: artists who have never set foot on the Holy Grounds before. Just imagine what it feels like: being a DJ and facing crowds as massive as the ones here at Tomorrowland, for the first time in your career, perhaps having only recently graduated from the Tomorrowland Academy... scary! But once the nerves are shaken off, a fresh, hyped-up DJ entertaining an equally thrilled bunch of ravers from all the corners of the world, how good is that? What unites these DJs and what sets them apart from each other? Let’s find out.
Anyma is the latest alter ego of Matteo Milleri, one half of illustrious Italian techno duo Tale of Us, who run the Afterlife label together. For this project, Matteo mixes his melodic techno with cutting-edge animations created with NFTs. Expect to see and hear something radically new.
CHET FAKER FOLAMOUR LF SYSTEM
With a discography crossing over into a variety of genres including soul, triphop, and electronica, Australian singer-songwriter Chet Faker is a jack of all trades. Tomorrowland has booked him to work the decks this Sunday, and history tells us that his DJ sets are even more energetic than his live shows.
With a name that resonates like a love anthem, it’s clear that Folamour knows exactly what the people crave! Hailing from France, this talented DJ infuses vibrant disco with an ample dose of house grooves, resulting in laid-back but propulsive club tracks. If you’re in the mood for an infusion of good vibes, Folamour is your ultimate sonic cupid.

Working as the UK label manager for Armin van Buuren’s Armada Music, and as One World Radio host, Ben Malone naturally comes across lots of new great music: an excellent position for a DJ! Besides trance, Ben also plays out the best of house and smooth techno – he’s a great, influential tastemaker, in other words.
Jan Berendsen aka Jengi is a creative whirlwind when it comes to DJ’ing. Despite still being young, it is plain to see that Jengi draws from a wide range of influences for his ever-entertaining DJ sets. Expect danceable house cuts, spiced up with incredibly sexy vocals.
One of the fastest rising heroes within the tech house scene is Dutchborn Mau P, who grew up in a groove-loving family who inspired him to take on multiple musical instruments. Mau’s debut single ‘Drugs from Amsterdam’ received a rework from Reinier Zonneveld. What a way to start a career!
Amapiano is one of the breakthrough club genres of the moment and Unruly Phoenix, who participated in last year’s Tomorrowland Academy, is one of the key ambassadors of this steamy, suspenseful sound that first came to prominence on South African dance floors. Catch her play at the magical CORE stage.
Levi Weidmann aka Cryex started producing raw hardstyle at the tender age of 12. His first release came out in 2020, before he got picked up by Q-dance Records, who released his track ‘Why Always Me’, and he also remixed Act of Rage’s ‘Gangster for Life’. Things are looking great for Cryex!
Belgian artist Maze plays dark and heavy breaks that will impress anyone who is into the more heavy and intense side of electronic music. Nothing like standard drum & bass, what Maze does is close to apocalyptic... but it’s a good, liberating, sweat-it-all-out and feel reborn kind of apocalypse.
One of the most exciting and prolific producers in the raw hardstyle scene, Boray has been hyping up his performance tomorrow at Youphoria for a while now. Check out his recent cuts ‘Get Loose’ and ‘Rave Zone’, two absolute belters that are set to smash up the psychedelic mushroom-themed Youphoria stage.
One of the bigger first-timers this year, HoneyLuv will play anything from deep, vocal house to driving, heady techno. She started the year well, being announced as Future Star of 2023 on BBC Radio 1 by Danny Howard. Having remixed Seth Troxler, Annie Mac and Melle Brown, HoneyLuv certainly is one to watch.
Korolova’s smooth and rolling sets are unlike anyone else’s. Always absorbed in the music she plays, her mix of techno and progressive beats is irresistible. Add to that a sparse but powerful use of mesmerising vocals, and you’ve got the Korolova sound in a nutshell right there.

An hours-long stretch of music blended together by the world’s most accomplished DJs on a great sound system with lots of space to dance and chill: that’s Tomorrowland’s Daybreak Sessions for you. Every session is different, and today’s edition will definitely set itself apart from any other one you’ve witnessed before. On this Friday morning, the sounds of the mysterious goldenfaced German boy wonder going by the name of Claptone will serve as your wake-up call.
There’s a lot of mystery surrounding the gifted deep house DJ, whose productions were once wonderfully described by Mixmag as “crisply produced and effortlessly infectious.” Quite prophetically, a bird-like shape started appearing at global raves years before the first rumours about Adscendo came into being. Claptone’s beak puzzled the scientific minds of biologists around the world, as its shape, resembling an inverted horn, was never-before-seen by anyone with any knowledge about feathered creatures. Mythical observations aside, it’s good to know that the artist is responsible for some of the best chilledout yet bassy house music to be heard on global dance floors right now. The wide variety of highend vocalists who’ve contributed to his work only further enhance the sunny vibe of the music. With features by Peter, Bjorn and John, Jay-Jay Johanson, and Boxer Rebellion’s Nathan Nicholson, and remixes of work by the likes of Gregory Porter, Claptone’s delicate output is the perfect, easygoing soundtrack to start the day with.

ölsch
Danish producer Rune Reilly Kölsch, known for his uplifting and energetic hybrid house and techno sets, has been a very regular guest at Tomorrowland since his first appearance in 2017. Never seen in public without his fedora hat, he is hard to miss when he enters the booth. Kölsch dedicated his upcoming album ‘I Talk to Water’ to his late father, whose voice can be heard on several tracks. We had a chat with Rune about what the record means to him, collaborations, influences and – last but not least – his particular taste for headwear.
Rune, you have a new album coming out in October, can you tell us a little about it? What’s the idea behind it and the vibe?
“The album is about my father’s passing twenty years ago. He was a singer and songwriter, but he never released any music. During the pandemic I found some of his old recordings, and decided to produce music around them. And so, on my new album, there are several songs featuring my dad, 20 years after his passing. It feels very special to be able to release my father’s voice that long after he is gone.
The album is called ‘I Talk to Water’ and the title refers to my dad’s ashes being spread out across the sea. Whenever I need a moment with him, I talk to water. This all may sound like a dark theme, but actually my dad’s passing became a driving force for me. It’s a source of energy, something that I have used to shape my life.”
Do you have a history with the band? As in, did you listen to it a lot in the past?
“Skateboarding shaped my younger years. Actually, a lot of my inspiration in visuals, music and mentality stems from that. We would religiously listen to Jane’s Addiction when we went skating back then. It really is a full circle moment.”
What was Perry’s reaction when the idea was mentioned – was he familiar with your music as well?
“He has an incredible taste in music and has been following our scene for years. Also, he had recently lost a dear friend, and completely understood the ‘talk to water’ reference. It was a beautiful moment, bringing two worlds together.”
Did the collaboration make you want to work with more singers outside of your own genre? And who would be your dream artist to collaborate with?
“I’ve always loved working with artists outside of our genre. It’s one of my main sources of inspiration. There is so much amazing art and music out there, so why not? My dream artist for a collab would be Robyn, Bon Iver or Christine and the Queens.”
exhausting to live up to commercial expectations. Majors are not a place for art.”
Can you tell us something about your hats? How many do you have? Do you have a favourite one? And do you ever leave the house without one?
“I only wear the fedora when I’m performing. The silhouette reminds me of film noir. I’ve got around thirty of them at home. But soon there will be more: I’ve started working on a Kölsch hat, so keep an eye out for my website! They will be for sale soon.”
OK, but only if you give up a secret. Name a track that you will 100% play at Tomorrowland and why?
“I will play ‘Gate’, my collab with Kevin de Vries, for sure. It was actually conceived at Tomorrowland Winter, so it is very special to me.”
And what’s a favourite of yours from the early days of house and techno?
The album features a collab with Jane’s Addiction lead singer Perry Farrell. How did that come about?
“I randomly met a friend of Perry’s and learned that he is crazy about electronic music. Perry was already working on several electronic songs, so the team asked if we wanted to do something together. Obviously, I said yes!”
You’ve been releasing music on Kompakt Records since 2010. That’s kind of unusual in the industry. What’s your relationship with the label?
“Kompakt is family to me. Michael Mayer was the first one to believe in me back then, so I feel Kompakt is my home. They always give me absolute freedom and encourage me to experiment. I’ve released on major labels before, and it was mentally
“My absolute favourite techno track of all time is Galaxy to Galaxy’s ‘Journey of the Dragon’. It encompasses everything I love about electronic music. It has so much emotion. Every time I encounter someone who doubts there is emotion in techno, I play them that piece. It usually shuts them up. I can safely say it has changed my life.”

DAYBREAK SESSIONS
LAIDBACK LUKE PRESENTS WAYBACK LUKE
MAINSTAGE | 12:00
A huge soundsystem, plenty of space to ease peacefully into the day or jump around as you like, and one of the most knowledgeable and skilful DJs on the planet to provide you with the soundtrack... that’s today’s Daybreak Session with Laidback Luke for you. Laidback Luke’s love for electronic music goes a long way back, and he’s kind enough to teach us a little rave lesson today at Tomorrowland’s magical Mainstage.
Probably the most admired EDM DJ among underground music heads, there’s a reason for the peculiar position between the mainstream and indie scenes that Laidback Luke holds. He first started getting into dance music during the early nineties when various genres of electronic music including techno, trance and house were championed at the very same raves. The sounds soon started to become associated with different scenes and fan bases with widely diverging lifestyles, even views on life. Not a fan of these pigeonholing practices, Luke never lost the old, versatile approach to loving and playing music, so when EDM came along, he also embraced the grandness of that sound. Due to his extensive musical knowledge, Laidback Luke’s sets are stuffed with goodies from all genres and eras, with various intensities and tempos. Too experienced to be bothered about going with the latest trends for the sake of it, Luke plays whatever he sees fit. Luke’s love for electronic music is stronger than ever, and that’s why this performance is set to be a one-of-a-kind Daybreak Session that is not to be missed.

FOCUS ON SATURDAY INCREDIBLE ALL EARLY BIRDS COME
SATURDAY
22.07.2023
imitri Vegas & ike Mike
DJ’ing is a trade of entertainment, and Dimi and Mike understand this principle like no other. They avoid sticking to any particular genre of EDM in order to always keep their sound interesting. Besides incorporating touches of house, electro and big room in their music, they are also influenced by hip-hop and reggaeton, to name but a few genres out of the ordinary. Looking at their consistent delivery of dance floor anthems throughout the years, it makes total sense that Tomorrowland is unthinkable without prime-time performances by the Thivalos brothers. We talked to them about musical progression, their club night in Ibiza and - importantly - where to get Greek food on Tomorrowland.
How does it feel to still be doing this: the Tomorrowland mainstage in 2023, after so many times?
Dimitri: “What can I say, it’s always amazing. Every year we’re both blown away because Tomorrowland never fails to impress and if anything, it just gets better with age.”
Mike: “It’s always the wildest show of the summer for us. There’s this tangible energy about Tomorrowland that starts to build in anticipation months before the festival happens, and then once it finally arrives, it’s just insane.”
Looking back on the past ten or twenty years, how do you feel the sound of music has evolved genre-wise, energy-wise? In other words: what worked back then and what works well right now?
Mike: “Our shows have always been a diverse mix of sounds. Go back ten years and we were right in the thick of the big room era, and even before that we used elements of progressive, electro and house music. But a lot of these styles still appear throughout our sets today.”
Dimitri: “Yeah, we’ve never stayed in just one lane when it comes to genres. You only have to look back and compare tracks like ‘Liquid Skies’ and ‘Momentum’, then later ‘Mammoth’ and ‘Find
Tomorrow (Ocarina)’ to see that. In more recent years our sound has broadened further still with influences of hip hop, pop and reggaeton creeping in. All of it has worked well for us – and now we have travelled back again to the early days of our careers with a lot more up-tempo, rave-era sounds and beats.”
How do you see the sound develop in the near to midterm future?
Dimitri: “We’ll definitely be diving deeper into the 1990’s-inspired rave sound we’ve been messing around with. I think people might be quite surprised when they hear our set this year. We’re also working on an album that will be very ‘90s inspired – we’re having a lot of fun with it!”
Techno is becoming more and more popular.
DJs like Hardwell, Nicky Romero and Afrojack are all keen on the genre. What are your thoughts on techno?
Mike: “There’s a pretty wide spectrum of what people consider techno. For some, it’s a super uptempo interpretation of the older harder styles, for others it’s leaning more towards trance and progressive sounds and even towards psytrance. I think in the past the world placed everything from big room to electronic dance, house, progressive and electro under the umbrella of EDM. Currently most of the slightly less mainstream genres are being called techno or melodic techno.”
What’s your favourite food at Tomorrowland?
Dimitri: “We have our own Greek Gyros stand called ‘Lemoni’ on the festival grounds… I would 100% recommend it!”
Can you explain to people who have never seen you perform before why they should definitely come see your set?
Dimitri: “Nothing compares to Tomorrowland. The energy and spectacle of the Mainstage is an intense feeling of emotion, joy and craziness. Prepare to be blown away, because every year, we always try to make it a bigger and better show than ever before, and this year is going to be the biggest one yet.”
Like always, you guys are curating a weekly club night at Ushuaïa Ibiza together with Tomorrowland. What’s the concept for the night, what can people expect?
Dimitri: “The concept for our Ushuaïa parties is to bring the Tomorrowland vibe to Ibiza. As everyone knows, Tomorrowland stands for next-level production and we stand for a next-level party… so you know what to expect when we bring all that to the craziest outdoor club in the world! We push the boundaries at this insane outdoor stage and our Wednesdays have become one of the busiest nights on the island. Ushuaïa truly is an amazing venue and the perfect playground for us – we have a blast every week!”

With a brand-new album in the pipeline, it is an exciting time to see and hear Felix de Laet aka Lost Frequencies perform at Tomorrowland. Working on full lengths is among the things he truly loves in life, Felix has told us before, as he sees it as the ultimate format for self-expression. His new single ‘The Feeling’ comes with a touch of country music, to which he’s added generous doses of melody and energy. If this is only the beginning of a new sound, we can’t wait to hear what he’s got in store for us on stage. Let’s hear it for the Belgian boy wonder of electronic music!
You are one of the very few artists playing Tomorrowland no less than three times. How does that feel?
“I love the combination of both playing on the Mainstage and also curating my own Lost Frequencies and Friends stage. Tomorrowland feels like home to me. My connection to the festival and the team, especially being a Belgian artist, runs very deep, and it’s a dream to return every year.”
Can you tell us about three tracks you’ve recently discovered which you play in your DJ sets, and why you love them so much?
“ANOTR & Abel Balder’s ‘Relax My Eyes’ comes to mind first. This is a huge track that has an amazing vocal from Abel Balder. It gives me that laid-back summer feeling, but it also gets everyone excited in the club. Svenn also did a super cool bootleg that I’ve been playing lately!”
selecting tracks for my DJ sets. I enjoy blending peak time tracks like this one with house edits and my own original releases to showcase a variety of what I’m a fan of as an artist personally. It also serves as a way to present a variety of tracks to the audience in my sets. I love the vocal on this one!”
You played Tomorrowland Winter last March. Can you tell us a little about that experience?
“I enjoy Tomorrowland Winter because there is no other winter festival doing it as well as Tomorrowland. In the French Alps, an amazing setting, they have the best artists performing, in a location like no other. I think the team really took the idea and ethos of the original Tomorrowland to a unique place. I played after sunset on the Mainstage, so it felt like the audience really dropped their inhibitions and were ready to let loose. It was one of my stand-out sets of the year for sure.”
Techno has become very popular, with Hardwell playing a techno set during Tomorrowland last year, for example. Can we expect a flirt with techno from you at some point?
touches. I am hoping to release the album later this year, but I can’t say too much at the moment! My new single ‘The Feeling’ is out now though, revealing my love of country, and combining it with a more pop-ready sound that I love. The record will also feature some collaborations with new artists I’m enjoying working with, as well as some party tracks, of course!”
You’ve had a few super catchy hits, real earworms that featured some great vocalists. Who would be your dream vocalist if you could name anyone on the planet, and why?
“I’m an absolute fan of Labrinth. He’s an amazing singer, songwriter and performer. So it would be insane to work with him.”
What will you be doing at Tomorrowland when you’re not performing? Do you have any tips for great things to do?
“Then there’s KREAM – ‘Sweat’, a moody deep house track on Spinnin’ Deep. This one comes with a progressive melody that I could have on repeat non-stop, it’s just too good!”
“And for a third one I’d pick HotLap ft. Doddy –‘Set You Free’. I like taking things a bit deeper when
“I’m a huge fan of techno, but personally I like to go progressive or deeper when I experiment with more club-ready sounds.”
The latest rumour is you’ve been working on a new album. Can you tell us a little about the process of creation and about what to expect?
“We are still in the stages of adding some final
“Where do I start?! I recommend seeing as many different stages as you can – the festival is one of the best in the world and for good reason. Every stage has a different vibe, a different vision and of course, a different sound. Go out of your comfort zone and experience exactly what Tomorrowland is all about! The food on-site is also amazing, especially if you’re camping at DreamVille. Don’t waste a moment, and I hope to see you around!”
