Arrival to London. Home to his Royal Highness, King Charles IIII. Over the next few days, you will be exploring royal hot spots in London and its area. A private black cab will pick you up at the airport and takes you to your hotel in London. Enjoy your free time in the afternoon. We suggest a relaxing walk around St. James Park and Hyde Park. Maybe you can even have a quick look around the world-famous luxury department store, Harrods. 4x overnights in central London.

DAY 3:

Today you will have free time until the early afternoon. That’s when you will be joining a half day excursion to Windsor where you will be visiting the imposing castle. It is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the World and has been family home to British kings and queens. The late Queen Elisabeth II spent many weekends here.

Cross the Westminster Bridge for a stunning view over Big Ben and Westminster Palace.

DAY 2:

Windsor Castle

Today you will pass various sites that are playing an important role in the history of the Royal Family. Start with the traditional ‘Changing the Guard’ ceremony at the Buckingham Palace (usually daily at 10:45). You will also see the balcony, which is being used for public occasions. Continue your tour to the Royal Mews. It’s a working branch of the Royal house and responsible for all royal road travel, by car, horse and carriage. Your next destination should be the ‘Queens Gallery’ an impressive art exhibition of more than 450 works. Also, you shouldn’t miss the St. James Palace which was built by the Tudor king Henry VIII. Nearby, you will also find the worldwide oldest hat store ‘Lock & Co Hatters’. The family-owned business is a royal warrant holder and

You will start in the Eastern part of London. Take a stroll through the Royal Exchange. A luxury shopping centre from the 16. Century. It’s also a place where royal proclamations (such as the death of a monarch) are read out by a herald. You will continue towards Tower Bridge. DAY 5: COTSWOLDS – CREAM TEA

DAY 1: LONDON AREA

Continue your journey towards Stratford-upon-Avon/ Warwickshire, ca. 130km drive. Plan your route through the beautiful and romantic area of the Cotswolds and enjoy a traditional English Cream Tea. Visit Burton-on-theWater, a scenic Cotswold village, often called Venice of the Cotswolds and walk along the traditional stone buildings that the Cotswolds area is renowned for. Garden lovers should visit Painswick Rococco Gardens, a 18th century garden with café in the nearby area of Stroud. 2x overnights in the Stratford-upon-Avon/Warwickshire area.

DAY 2: EXPLORE THE CAPITAL

Explore the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare. Take a walk down the pedestrianised Henley Street where there are many cafes and local shops to enjoy and visit the birthplace of the famous bard himself, Shakespeare. There are five Shakespeare houses in total, 3 of which are in the town itself and they are wonderfully preserved and offer fascinating insights into the life of Shakespeare and his family. Take a River walk (ca. 2km – 1 hours) and visit Holy Trinity church where William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway are buried.

Arrive in London and head to your accommodation where you will stay for the first two nights of your tour. Depending on your arrival time, we recommend a visit Hampton Court Palace, a grade 1 listed royal palace located in the London borough of Richmond upon Thames. Building of this Tudor palace commenced in 1515 for Cardinal Wolsey, the chief minister of Henry VIII, and it is set amongst acres of beautiful gardens. Alternatively, visit Windsor Great Park to visit the Valley Gardens, Virginia Water or nearby Runnymede, where the historic Magna Carta was sealed over 800 years ago. 2x overnights in the London area. Head into central London for the day. From museums and architecture, to its modern food and music scene, there really is something for everyone in this cosmopolitan city. Talk a walk along the Thames from Westminster to see Tower Bridge, passing by the famous ‘The Shard’, the UK’s tallest building. Enjoy the wonderful food in Chinatown and explore nearby Soho.

DAY 3: SALISBURY – STONEHENGE – BRISTOL

Drive southwest to the Bath/Bristol area, ca. 180km from London. We recommend planning your journey via Salisbury to visit its wonderful cathedral, a masterpiece of the early Gothic style. A piece of the original Magna Carta can also be viewed. The UNESCO site of Stonehenge, the famous prehistoric site on Salisbury Plain, is on the way too and visits must be prebooked to gain access to the site. Plan a stop at the Cheddar Cheese Gorge, one of the last remaining cheddar cheese companies driving to your next accommodation. 2x overnights in the Bath/Bristol area.

DAY 4: ROMAN BATHS

Use this day to explore the Roman City of Bath, also known as the most beautiful City in South England and a world heritage site. Bath was named after its Roman-built baths and a visit (included) to the Roman Baths and Pump Room are very worthwhile or you can walk around the beautiful Georgian architecture on the Royal Crescent.

DAY 6: STRATFORD-UPON-AVON

DAY 7: OXFORD – BLENHEIM PALACE – LONDON

Return to the London area, a drive of circa 220km. En-route, a stop to visit Blenheim Palace is included, birthplace of Winston Churchill or drive to the famous city of Oxford, a city that revolves around its famous ‘University of Oxford’ first established in the 12th century. The architecture of the city has led it to be called ‘the City of Dreaming Spires’ and whether exploring the many historic buildings, museums and colleges or taking in the modern shopping and eating facilities the city has a lot to offer. For shopping lovers, a stop at the Bicester Outlet Centre is highly recommended. 1x overnight in the London area.

DAY 8: WINDSOR

Time permitting, we recommend a visit to the town of Royal Windsor with is magnificent Castle. Queen Elizabeth II spent many weekends here. Compact and picturesque, the town becomes a hive of activity in the summer months. Journey to London airport, ca. 50km for your return flight.

SELF-DRIVE TRIP DAY 1: ARRIVE IN GREAT BRITAIN

DISCOVER KENT

Start your journey crossing the English Channel by either ferry or train. Head to your accommodation. You might have some time to explore the surroundings and enjoy the tranquillity of the ‘Garden of England’. Walk along the White Cliffs of Dover to soak in stunning views, on clean sun-filled days you will be able to see France. 4x overnights in the Kent area

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Medieval and Tudor times. Nowadays, you will be able to see the majestic black swans who have just recently returned to Leeds Castle. In the afternoon, we recommend an excursion to Whitstable. The quaint coastal town is particularly famous for locally harvested oysters and a wide selection of seafood. Today you will be visiting the historic city of Canterbury and it’s UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Canterbury Cathedral. Take a stroll around the small alleys where you can marvel at the half-timbered houses and the lovely boutiques, or you can enjoy a short cruise on the Great Stour River. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local pub. Continue towards the award-winning coast of Kent. Quaint, quirky and one of the most charming coastal towns in Kent, Deal, is worth a visit.

DAY 4: EXPLORE KENT BY E-BIKE

Brace yourself for a day full of colourful impressions by exploring the countryside by E-Bike. Take a ride through the prettiest Kentish country lanes and visit historic villages, gardens or castles. Stop at English Vineyards or Cider Farm’s to get a taste of Kent’s great produce. The e-bike rental company will provide maps and is happy to help with any route suggestions.

Start by exploring the Snowdonia National Park, the outdoor adventure capital of North Wales. Take the Snowdon Railway to the top of Mount Snowdon to enjoy breath taking views and walks. Alternatively, Caernarfon Castle, an impressive middle ages fortress is well worth a visit. Not far from Caernarfon, you will find a relatively small town with the longest name in the UK. Do you dare saying its name: ‘Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndro’ without stopping for breath?

DAY 4: DEVIL’S BRIDGE – PORTMEIRION – ST DAVID’S

Stop near Aberystwyth, in order to visit the Devil’s Bridge, made famous by poet William Wordsworth. A slice of Welsh cake and tea / coffee is included. En-route to the Chester area (150km) you could stop in visit Liverpool, time permitting. Liverpool is a vibrant city with plenty to explore. You could visit The Beatles Story, which charts the ‘fab four’s’ roaring success, take a LFC Stadium Tour in this city of football, see the beautiful cathedral with its architectural treasure or visit the British Music Experience. Liverpool is diverse and promises an exciting visit. DAY 3: SNOWDONIA NATIONAL PARK – ISLE OF ANGLESEY

Explore the Snowdonia National Park, the outdoor adventure capital of North Wales. Take the Snowdon Railway to the top of Mount Snowdon to enjoy breath taking views and walks. If you don’t want to take the train you can also walk to the summit. Depending on your fitness level it will take around 5 – 7 hours return. Alternatively, the Isle of Anglesey is a lovely outing, with the opportunity to walk parts of the Welsh Coast Path Way to South Stack Lighthouse.

DAY 6: WELSH COAST PATH – ST DAVID’S

Explore the Welsh Coast Path with stunning views. This part of the Welsh Coast Path has been voted the second most beautiful Coastal Walk in the World. Just beyond the city limits are extensive lush forests and plenty of farming and agricultural land that are inhabited by a vast array of wildlife. Drive 387 km towards the north of Iceland to the village of Akureyri. In the morning drive 36 kms north to Dalvik to go on Arctic Sea Tours, a 3-hour whale watching boat tour. During the tour you could potentially encounter the great humpback whale, some white-beaked dolphins, the small harbour porpoises and even the majestic blue whale, fin whales or killer whales. The whale watching takes place in the picturesque landscape of Eyjafjordur followed by sea fishing inside the majestic mountains of Tröllaskagi just short of the Arctic Circle. DAY 5: KIRKJUBÆJARKLAUSTUR – VIK

Drive 76 km to Vik to join the Katlatrack 2-3 hours fast track ice cave tour. Our Katlatrack Team will meet you at our meeting point in Vik Iceland. You will then embark on a beautiful and exciting super Jeep ride to the secret area of one of our 13 glaciers. The super jeep ride will last 30-60 minutes. Once at the glacier area, you will borrow gear (helmet, headlamp, and crampons) and our local guide will do an educational brief on safety, what to expect, etc. You will take a short hike through an amazing glacier area towards the natural ice cave. Our guide will always choose the most accessible and safe path. As the glacier constantly changes, the path may differ day to day, same as the look of the ice cave. After the ice cave tour, we recommend going to the Reynisfjara Beach and Black Sand Beach which is famous for its volcanic sand and enormous basalt stacks. Return to your hotel in Vik. DAY 7: SELFOSS – REYKJAVIK

Drive 139 km back to Reykjavik, stopping en route by the famous Blue Lagoon where you will be treated to a ‘Comfort Package’. Blue Lagoon is Iceland’s most unique and popular attraction. Guests enjoy bathing and relaxing in geothermal seawater, known for its positive effects on the skin. DAY 1: COPENHAGEN ARRIVAL

Copenhagen is described as one of the world´s best cities for cycling, therefore, prepare to explore the vibrant city by bike. See the beautiful sights of Copenhagen via one of the modern bike bridges, such as the Inner Harbour Bridge or the Lille Langebro, to the creative district Reffen and further to CopenHill. The futuristic recreational hill is on top of a new resource handling centre and it can be climbed by foot on a sunny day. Water enthusiasts will love a Green Kayak tour through the city. Paddlers can collect rubbish on the way, and receive discounts on the trip if they help clean up the canals while enjoying the city from the water.

DAY 3: COPENHAGEN – GOTHENBURG

Today venture via train over the famous Øresund Bridge and along the west coast of Sweden to Gothenburg. The city has received the EU Capitals of Smart Tourism Award 2020 and was named the world’s most sustainable city by the Global Destination Sustainability Index. To the west of the city is the Gothenburg Archipelago, which comprises of more than 20 islands. A number of ferries, which are included in the public transport ticket price, sail to the Swedish islands which are worth a visit no matter the weather. DAY 4: GOTHENBURG – ÖDESHOG

COMBINATION TRIP DAY 1: BERGEN

Arrive in Bergen and transfer by private car to your hotel. After check in you will depart for a 2-hour private guided walking tour. You will walk past the King Haakon’s Hall, the Rosenkranz Tower, Bryggen (a row of Hanseatic timbered houses with characteristic pointed gables facing the harbour), the bustling Fish and Flower Market, the City Park, and the Grieghall - Bergen’s concert hall. 3x overnight in the area of Bergen

DAY 2: BERGEN

Today you will enjoy a 3.5-hour private guided hiking tour (7 – 9km) on Mt. Fløyen including a return trip with the Funicular Train. The Fløibanen funicular in Bergen is one of Norway’s best-known attractions. At the top you can enjoy fantastic views of the city. Above Mt Fløyen your guide will take you through untouched terrain, reaching some higher summits with amazing views of Bergen and the ocean surrounding it.
