Giving beyond what you have
BUILDING FOR GENERATIONS
In this Decade of Expansion, it takes all Trinitarians to come together with their Vision Faith Promises to build a home for the generations to come!
THE VISION FAITH PROMISE
WHAT IS A FAITH PROMISE? WHERE DOES MY VISION FAITH PROMISE GO?
• A commitment, made in faith, between you and God.
• A time to ask the Lord how much
He wants you to give towards a specific area of His Kingdom-work (e.g., Trinity’s Vision).
• An opportunity for God to provide to others through you.
A Faith Promise is not based on the finances you already have. A Faith Promise is based on the figure God has impressed upon your heart and with continued faith to believe that He will provide the amount in the year.
Every fulfilled Vision Faith Promise goes into Trinity’s Building Fund, a restricted fund “established to finance the acquisition, redevelopment, retrofitting, additions and alterations, renovation, improvement, and repair and maintenance of buildings, properties, plant and equipment, furnishings, fittings, and fixtures required for the purposes of the Church.”
HOW DO I MAKE A VISION FAITH PROMISE?

REAL LIFE MIRACLES
WHEN WE BUILD GOD’S HOUSE, HE BUILDS OURS
BY SHIREEN KRIPLANI
When the season of COVID-19 pandemic could have been tumultuous for many people, but it was a time that God used to bring about restoration for Trinitarian Michelle Wong, and her household. Let us hear from her as she shares her testimony.
God has blessed me with an amazing family and a great career where I traveled frequently during pre-COVID-19 days. I thought I was a good Christian who did the necessary like going to church and occasionally reading God’s Word.
THE ROAD BACK TO GOD
When Covid-19 first hit in 2020, I was grounded because of Circuit Breaker restrictions. God had my full attention. Unsuspectingly, God started to speak to me gently to become a member of Trinity Christian Centre. His words to me were, “I am calling each of my tribes back to battle and will bless them. You need to become a member of Trinity.”
It was not until this nudge from God that I felt the urgency to become a member. The process of going through New Life courses and joining a Connect Group (CG) felt like a disruption to my schedule. However, God was patient with me, His words resounded repeatedly. Eventually, I obeyed, and a personal revival was taking place.
MAKING TIME FOR HIM
I had no idea what God was about to do in my life. He introduced me to a CG where believers are so generous in love and spirit. Every week, they helped me draw closer to Jesus. Growing together in the CG, I was reminded to:
- pray for my loved ones - live in His new mercies every morning - bring all my cares and concerns to Him - be in a fellowship of believers who gather to worship God
Tears started flowing. The longing to be in His presence grew. I had a deep desire to attend church onsite and worship Him in His sanctuary. When the call for helpers in DiscoveryLand came, I was overjoyed to join as a volunteer.
WHEN GOD BLESSES, HE MEANS IT
I experienced God's blessings in a season of personal transformation. God had bigger plans for me and my household. In August 2021, Pastor Dominic Yeo preached on Build God's House, and He will Build Yours. I never thought this would be so real to us.
For many years, we desired to sell our house and upgrade to a bigger space. Nothing happened until in September 2021, unexpectedly, God prompted us to look around. We were introduced to a property agent who was different from the rest. She refrained from the usual industry banter and did not she rush us. Instead, she listened.
A couple of weeks after listing for sale, the agent brought us an offer that was beyond what we asked. Praise the Lord!
In retrospect, I realized God had stopped us from spending unnecessarily on any small-scale house renovation, which would be redundant when we move to a new house. God cared for us meticulously.
My faith was stretched as I trusted God to guide us on the right house to buy. Many worries and doubts began to engulf us. Within a month of selling, God delivered. He opened the door to a property we had always loved. It was at a right time and price too.
STRETCHING OUR FAITH AS A HOUSEHOLD
God challenged me to increase my Faith Promise. He did not need my money but wanted to increase my faith. Fearfully, I asked the Lord how much more I should be giving.
His answer came through my daughter, Sophie, at DiscoveryLand. She told me that she committed double of what she was giving. By faith, I did the same.
Shortly after, we faced a cash flow problem for the new house. We had overlooked some cash requirements for the purchase. Mentally, I had exhausted all avenues.
But I prayed that God would provide the funds without a loan, and again He did not fail us.
Miraculously, He revealed an area in my stock investment that had multiplied in the last five years. When I cashed that in, it was MORE than sufficient, a promise from God that came through when He said to me, “I will open my storehouses and pour out my blessings.” This experience brought my pre-believing husband closer to Jesus as divine intervention was evident. He was open to praying and declaring God's hand of grace over our situation.
GOD'S BLESSINGS CONTINUED
The next challenge was we needed to rent for a couple of months while the new house underwent renovation. In our first viewing, the agent informed us of the sudden surge in demand. My earthly self then panicked and started overthinking. Again, God patiently told me to turn my heart and focus unto Him. He assured me that He would provide a house for me and my household.
Truly, God opened the door to a rental house that fulfilled ALL we needed. It was near to our daughter's school. It was fully furnished and there was no penalty for short-term rental. I could not hide my bursting excitement to want to praise God and His goodness.
AFFIRMATION OF HIS BLESSINGS
After experiencing miracle after miracle, I penned down with the opening words about restoration on December 19, 2021. With divine convergence, Pastor Dominic Yeo preached on Restoration at Watchnight Service. Indeed, God's restorative power was at work. His goodness in my life is undeniable.
DELIVERY OF HIS BLESSINGS
Now, I wake up every day in awe of this beautiful new home God has blessed us with. He has orchestrated every detail and worked out His purposes mysteriously in our lives as mentioned in Psalm 77:19, “Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.“
There is so much more Jesus is doing for us as I continue to believe Him for:
- The salvation of my loved ones - Being an impact in the workplace - Bringing more unsaved into His Kingdom
It says in Psalm 127:1, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”
Like how God restored and built my faith, family and life, may you allow Him who gives everyone life and breath and everything else (Acts 17:25) to restore and build you to greater than before.
BUILDING FOR GENERATIONS
While early Trinitarians had their faith stretched to believe for a place to call home, Trinitarians today will soon have four properties to call home.
The journey of the generations before us are more than just historical information. The victorious breakthroughs of the past are evidence of a God who loves to astound His people with His divine provision and miraculous ways. Once you think it is time to settle and enjoy the facilities, you stop building for generations. 1970 TO 1980
When it was decided that we would purchase our own property to build our own church, it was decided that the board should take the lead to make their Faith Promise at the board meeting as a step of faith from the leadership of the church. I had never been involved in such an ‘exercise’ before. Looking back, it was a step of faith and a prophetic act that the board took to set the tone of how we as a church would go about building God’s church. ” For years, we were constantly on the move. We rented various premises for our services and programs – Hillcrest Rd, Ewe Boon Rd, Hotel Equatorial, RELC, Singapore American School, NTUC Conference Hall, World Trade Centre, and more. Whenever these rented premises had other functions, we would scramble to find other locations for service – not forgetting the need to carry, set up, and strike set the audio-visual equipment, musical instruments, and chairs week in week out. It was a tedious process, but Trinitarians served with great commitment and heart, to build a church for people to encounter God and experience transformation.
ONCE YOU THINK IT IS TIME TO SETTLE AND ENJOY THE FACILITIES, YOU STOP BUILDING FOR GENERATIONS. BUILDING FOR GENERATIONS In 1981, two plots of land at 21 and 1981 23 Adam Road were listed at more than S$2 million – a hefty sum of money in those days. But we proceeded in faith with a down payment not knowing where the rest of the finances were going to come from. 1988 Banks were reluctant to finance us as TO it would be bad PR if they had to sue 1992 a religious institution. To show the banks that we were serious and committed to paying off the loan, Trinitarians mortgage their assets with the church to show banks that we have collateral. What a display of incredible unity and determination to build a home for Trinitarians! We got our bank loan and construction of 21 Adam Road commenced in 1988. In 1990, the building at 21 Adam Road was completed. In 1992, we paid off the building and celebrated with a symbolic act of burning the mortgage papers.
When we purchased Trinity@Adam, we did not have enough money in our bank account. But Trinitarians rose to the call to give toward building God’s house. The young congregation gave sacrificially. People gave hard cash, their savings and even mortgaged their homes. ”
Danny Yeo, former board member who served in the building committee for our first three buildings
WHEN WE STOP BUILDING, WE STOP GROWING!
1993 TO 1996
1993 TO 1996
Construction of 23 Adam Road commenced in 1993. When completed in 1995, we had our 1,000-seat auditorium. God used the new auditorium in a powerful way in 1996 when Trinity produced an evangelistic production “Heaven’s Gates & Hell Flames”. God moved mightily in hearts then. The run was extended from one to four weeks. More than 17,000 people attended the production and 4,700 people made decisions to follow Christ. It was not long before Trinity was presented with the opportunity to purchase three adjacent freehold properties on Lavender Street. Completed in the year 2000, Trinity@Lavender served as an additional worship center for Trinity until 2006.
Since then, Trinity@Lavender has been made available to churches in need of facilities. Trinity@Lavender also serves as headquarters to Care Community Services Society (our social arm), as well as a location for our local church plant to grow.
After we paid up the loan for Trinity@Adam, I recall saying to Pastor Dowdy (rather cheerfully) that we don’t need to take Vision Faith Promises anymore! She rebuked me, saying, ‘Raymond! ” When we stop building, we stop growing!
This statement set the foundation for former board member Raymond Leong whenever he wrestled with going forward with new building projects
1998 TO 1999
As soon as we paid off the loan for Trinity@Lavender, a large plot of freehold
BUILDING FOR land along Paya Lebar Road became available for tender in 1998. After much prayer, the board came to a figure of S$19.1 million to bid for the tender. Our God-inspired bid was a whisker higher than the second-highest bid. GENERATIONS We won the tender without paying more than needed. From S$12 million for the entire project at Trinity@Lavender to $19.1 million for the land – once again, God challenged Trinitarians to stretch their faith to see what He will do. The price of S$19.1 million may seem like a manageable amount today, but back then, it was a staggering amount. If you think we had a fat bank account – we did not. We only have enough to pay for the initial down payment for the purchase of the land at Paya Lebar. Construction costs were yet to be factored in. But Trinitarians pressed in and gave of their widow’s mite to build for the future generations! 2003 We experienced breakthroughs in TO 2011 provision. In 2003, we paid off the land loan for Trinity@Paya Lebar. Our bankers were very surprised because we took out a 10-year loan, but fully repaid it off in four years. God always outdoes Himself. We continued to take a 15-year bank loan for the construction of the building at Trinity@Paya Lebar. In 2011, God surpassed all our expectations when we fully paid up for Trinity@Paya Lebar in under five years! We experienced breakthroughs in growth. With the opening of Trinity@Paya Lebar, we multiplied worship centers in 2007 – “1 church, 2 centers, 3-nitarians” was our chant then. The multiplication required Trinitarians to uproot from a familiar place to a new place. As we abandoned familiarity and comfort zones, God added to our numbers exponentially. From 4,000 to 5,000 when we first multiplied into two centers, to 6,500 when the Sanctuary (phase 2 of Trinity@Paya Lebar) opened in December 2009.
What amazes me is not just the few Trinitarians who gave in the hundreds of thousands but the many Trinitarians who gave of their widow’s mite believing in leaving a lasting legacy. Trinitarians were giving extravagantly despite periods of economic downturns. ”
Khong Yew Cheong, board member since 2005
2017 TO 2019
“Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us…,“ Declared Lead Pastor Dominic Yeo at the 2017 Watchnight Service as he read from 2 Kings 6. God rolled out a blueprint for a Decade of Expansion for Trinity.
Beginning with Trinity@Bukit Batok in July 2017, God opened the doors for us to establish regional centers across Asia in quick succession. In November 2017, Trinity@Jakarta began worship services. In October 2018, God opened doors in Bangkok, Thailand and we launched Trinity@Bangkok. And in 2019, we launched Trinity@Orchard and Trinity@CBD reaching targeted groups of people.
“We’ve got the land,” exclaimed Pastor Dominic Yeo in June 2019. Doors opened for Trinity to purchase land again and God stretched our faith again to undertake two building developments and multiple facility rentals.
2012 TO 2016
Even though we were now debt-free, we continued to give of our Vision Faith Promises. It was now time to redevelop our first home, Trinity@Adam.
“3-nitarians, 2-gether, in 1 place” was our new chant as we shuttered Trinity@Adam and worshiped together as one church.

Trinity@Choa Chu Kang is now being developed, and is targeted to be ready for Trinitarians worshipping at Trinity@Bukit Batok to occupy in 2023. Amid border closures and worship venue shutdowns because of the global pandemic, the Decade of Expansion was still in motion. In July 2020, Trinity@Melbourne launched as an online church.
The breakthrough faith for a permanent home is in our DNA. Today, our regional centers in Trinity@Bangkok and Trinity@Jakarta have places to call home. Trinity@Melbourne are living their “semi-nomadic” days now, renting a hotel, but we believe they will soon have a place to call home!
1 CHURCH, 2 GATHER IN, 3 CENTERS
With Trinity@Adam reopening in January 2023, it's time to get ready for multiplication into three centers. We may have been through center multiplication before, but God is going to do it better than before - that's His Restorative Power!

GOD IS GOING TO DO IT BETTER THAN BEFORE!
RECALLING THE PROPHETIC WORDS SPOKEN OVER TRINITY
God is far from done with Trinity. Building for Generations means making room for the harvest. As you read these prophetic words, arise in faith to respond to them. It is time to restore a passion for souls. It is time to restore Soul-winning for Jesus.
Church, I got to tell you right now, I see in the Spirit. I see all of the streets leading to Trinity filled with traffic as people are being drawn in the Spirit by the Father’s love. I tell you,
if you build it, people will come.
Craig Lauterbach July 19, 1998 There is a number of nations that you need to plant into in quick succession in the Spirit, and not just Asia.
There’s coming an acceleration in the Spirit to this church. And brakes are not part of the mechanism.
New leaders will be young. New leaders are going to be vibrant, dynamic. God showed me a hand with spears in them. And those six spears have been sovereignly sharpened.
God has a great work for this church. A great work for this church. Let God stretch you. Allow yourself to be put in situations where you are stretched.
Rev Kerry Southey June 10, 1998
A big church like this one, as you push and give birth, should come forth another big church.
From this church can come a thousand more churches.
Many, many churches are to come forth from this church. Don’t be happy with yourselves. God is calling you to bear fruit.
Rev Dag Heward-Mills June 6, 2019
And the Lord says,
I am going to bring a great revival of My Spirit to the youth of this church.
And they are going to affect the schools of the land. For there will be a day when I am going to sweep by My Spirit through the Secondary Schools of this land. And I am going to bring thousands and thousands and thousands into My Kingdom. I am going to build the children center so that children can be trained.
And the Lord says, I am going to give this church not one warehouse but warehouses. For I hear the word – property, property, property.
Rev Cindy Jacobs June 24, 2001 And I sense in my spirit that what you’re going to see is a rapid growth, and it is not going to be transfer growth. But it’s going to be growth out of conversion. You’re going to see people come into the Kingdom. And as a result of the growth that God is going to give you, you’ve got to expand.
I believe that God is orchestrating these things because He is preparing you for a great harvest.
And so, God says,
Listen! It’s time for expansion! You are expanding for the sake of the harvest.
But you cannot see it in terms of saying, let’s just buy another facility. You have to see it in terms of souls.
The bottom line is souls.
We want to see as many souls get saved in Singapore and then establish a base right here to go to the nations.
Rev Ché Ahn February 20, 2000
