Same Again?
DEPUTY EDITOR: Joanne Harkness EDITORIAL MANAGER: James Sherry
It will be interesting to see how the ‘new’ Northern Ireland football team manager, Michael O’Neill, fairs this time around. I was slightly surprised when I heard that he had been reappointed. Although, when you think about it, the logic is pretty sound: he was very successful last time around so why not have more of the same? Also, he had lost his job at Championship side Stoke and the national team just happened to be without a manager at the same time (funny that). Anyway, I’m not totally sure whether going back is always the right thing to do but, as they say, ‘football is a funny old game’; we will see. O’Neill attended our Awards a few years back to pick up a Special Merit Award on behalf of the Northern Ireland men’s team. Hopefully we will have cause to invite him back in the coming years as a result of his team’s successes on the pitch. Which brings me neatly to the launch of the Ulster Tatler Awards 2023 and the Ulster Tatler Influential Women of the Year Awards 2023. If you turn to pages 92 and 52 respectively you will see that voting is now up and running for both events. As ever, we are keen to harvest as many votes as possible; please take a moment to do so for either or both. QUOTE FOR THE MONTH
