MATURE CONTENT Most of the con is geared toward adult fans. Kal tried to engage, but he wasn’t really about to hang out in the lounge or articulate #whyiread when he could get back home to play video games. Before BookCon, Luis had been wondering why no restaurants have turkey burgers. Then Kal stopped to talk to the rep at Action Burger. Turkey burgers are on their menu. People are supposed to come for the comics, sci-fi, and thousands of retro video games, but I’m more interested in the deep fried waffle and pretzel burgers. Kal doesn’t remember talking to this guy—or thinking some of these T-shirts were the funniest thing ever. At right is a still of him asking me if I remember seeing the shirts 2 minutes earlier: Not just lazy—super lazy! And at the time he told me that he is the kitten saying one more chapter, but now he thinks the tees look like every con. —MV
