NYCC2017
25 YEARS OF SPAWN At NYCC 17, one of the most popular creators in comics history, Todd McFarlane, was making the rounds talking about his deal with Blumhouse Productions and his plans to release an R-rated, horror focused Spawn film. No new major announcements from Todd McFarlane Productions, but Todd talked about how proud he was for Spawn to be celebrating its 25th anniversary. While they talked a bit about a soft reboot of the character, a 25-year run of an independent book is one of the greatest accomplishments of modern times. —LV
HERE FOR THE CLUES Verizon sponsored a gallery of props from the new Star Wars movie, such as helmets, Finn’s backpack, blaster rifles, and models of the TIE silencer and Resistance bomber. Staff wore T-shirts asking who would be the last Jedi. I was not so hard up for answers to wait in the line. —MV
