Panthers Claw Past Hawks 36-29 In Opener

On a night where turnovers and penalties kept tripping up the Panthers, the legs of Zach Ayers carried Perryville to a 36-29 victory

against visiting North Harford in their season-opener. The senior all-purpose running back, wide receiver, defensive back, kicker, and punter had a huge night for the Panthers.

As if an offensive touchdown and interception returned for a touchdown wasn’t enough, Ayers scooped up a botched snap on an extra point and ran it in, converted a fake punt for

a first down, kicked all the extra points for the evening, did the punting and on two remarkable plays ran down breakaway Hawk players, who had 20-yard leads, to stop touchdowns – one re-

sulting in a turnover.

“Zach is Mr. Do Everything for us,” said Head Coach Sean Sandora about Ayers, “He really did a good job over the summer preparing his body to never come

off the field.”

Elkton Overcomes 17 Point Deficit To Defeat Rising Sun

ELKTON-Facing an 18-point

deficit to visiting Rising Sun midway through the second quarter, Elkton remained confident that it would not only get back into the game but also earn the victory.

That confidence was warranted as the Golden Elks stormed past the

Tigers to earn a 40-38 victory behind quarterback Eli Latshaw’s five touchdown passes, including the goahead score to Isaiah Huffstutler with four minutes remaining, in non-divisional UCBAC football action Friday night.

“Honestly, I knew we had it the whole time,” Latshaw, who also threw for

346 yards, said. “They gave us their best effort, and we just responded. We all just stayed together, and we all were ready.”

Rising Sun jumped out to a 17-0 lead just 5:19 into the game thanks to touchdown runs by Mason Testerman and Gannon Russsell and a 24 yard field goal by Russell.

Despite the large deficit early in the game, Elkton head coach Matt Feeney remained calm on the sideline because he had confidence that the closeknit uint would find a way to bounce back.

Facing Havre De Grace this week, the Panthers led the entire game with a score of 7-0, shut out by senior goalie, Lawrencia “LJ” Jennings. With 18 seconds left on the clock, the Warriors got a penalty stroke. Determined to keep the score 7-0, on the officials whistle, LJ leapt into the upper right hand corner to defend the cage with a beautiful stick stop and shut out the Warriors.

Bohemia Manor Eagles shut down the Kent County Trojans 48-0

CHESAPEAKE CITY, MD - The Bohemia Manor Eagles started of the 2022 Football Season the same way they did last year with strong game against the neighboring Kent County High School Trojans.

Senior Quarterback Angel Granado went 6-9 passing for 108 yards with one TD. Leading Granado’s receiving corp was Senior Deavon Jones with 4 catches and 94 yards. Senior Jake Koehler had one catch on the evening for nine yards and Junior TE An-

drew Swyka had one catch forfive yards.

On the ground, Jake Koehler led the group of six Running Backs who would get carries on Friday night. Koehler had nine carries for 106 yards and three TDs. QB Angel Granado, Junior D’mari King and Senior FB Ayden Frost would also rush for TDs.

The Eagles offense put up 333 total yards in the 48-0 win over the Trojans. Koehler led the team in tackles with four while Ayden

Frost recorded the only sack on the night. The Eagles Defense was tough for the Trojans to get past allowing only 68 yards rushing on 19 carries (3.6 avg) and 29 yards passing and only four completions. Kent County put up 107 yards of total offense and was unable to find the endzone in each of their drives. Next up for the Eagles will be another home stand against the Patterson Mill Huskies.

The Hawks evened the score early in the 3rd quarter on a 52-yard touchdown run by Kent Holcombe on 4th-and-two. Holcombe almost took down Perryville Friday night with several lengthy returns that gave North Harford premium field position to start drives.

It was Ayers’ pick 6 that

broke the game open in the third quarter for the Panthers. Perryville followed that up with a running touchdown from Ethen Gunter to give the home team a 14-point lead and put the game out of reach for the Hawks. Gunter had 20 carries on the night for 166 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. Ayers had five carries for 46 yards, two receptions for 20 yards and was 5-for-5 in PATs. Kyle Richards added two receptions for the Panthers for 61 yards and a touchdown catch. Quarterback

Rob Siek tossed two touchdowns and threw two interceptions on the night. For Perryville defensively, Sydney Phillips led the team with nine tackles, Ayers had five tackles and Cy McCall and Kyle Huth accounted for four tackles each. Huth and Ayers each had interceptions for the Panthers. Perryville next faces Joppatowne this Friday night at home at 7 p.m. in a matchup of teams who started winning their season openers.

Elkton Overcomes 17 Point Deficit To Defeat Rising Sun

I just know that these guys won’t ever quit. They won’t because … for each other. That’s just a testament to the character of those men.”

The Golden Elks got on the board on the ensuing possession when Latshaw connected on quick strike to Huffstutler for 55yard score to make it 17-6, but the Tigers responded with a three-

yard touchdown by Russell early in the second quarter to make it 24-6.

Elkton got itself back in the game with a short touchdown run from Tyreke Kane and a long 71-yard touchdown pass to D. J. Piner, making it 24-18 with 4:19 left in the second quarter.

Russell scored his third touchdown of the first half on the next possession to give Rising Sun a lead. That 13-point lead was cut to five as Latshaw connected with Jaden Nichols for a 28-yard strike to make it 31-26 with less than a minute left in the first half.

Golden Elk head coach Matt Feeney had nothing but praise for the Tigers’ offense, particularly Russell, who finished the game with 247 yards on 36 carries and four touchdowns.

“They have dudes over there. They make blocks. They’re running our guys over. Gannon Russell is a Guy. He’s a Guy, man. We felt that dude tonight,” Feeney said “You can come in with a gameplan, but the boys start playing ball. They were making plays.”

Rising Sun held onto its 31-26 lead until the final play of the third quarter when Latshaw connected with Huffstutler for a 13-yard touchdown pass, and the Golden Elks made it a three-point game at 34-31 when they converted the ensuing two-point conversion.

The Tigers regained the lead when they capped off a 8-play, 49-yard drive with a Russell five-yard touchdown run with 5:58 remaining, and the successful extra-point gave Rising Sun a

38-34 lead.

“They retook the lead, but we wanted it back,” Huffstutler said of Elkton’s mindset after the Tigers’ go-ahead touchdown. “That’s the mentality. We’re not going to take the foot off the game, and we’re going to keep going and going. That’s exactly what we did.”

The Golden Elks did not waste time getting into scoring position as they got to the endzone in four plays, scoring on a 21-yard touchdown connection between Latshaw and Huffstutler with four minutes remaining to make it 4038.

Huffstutler made an adjustment to his route on the eventual winning score as he noticed the Rising Sun safety had strong coverage on the play.

“The funny thing is that we called a route that I didn’t do correctly, but I saw the safety had really good coverage on me,” Huffstutler, who caught six passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns, said. “I ran my own thing just to help my team out. There was great coverage on me, but I had to make sure to be myself and win for my team.”

VARSITY ROSTER:

“They blitz every single play. They brought six, and their linebacker went to the bubble, and their safety almost made a great play,” Latshaw added. “Huffy (Huffstutler) made a great play, caught it and got the touchdown.”

The Tigers got to the Elkton 34 on the ensuing possession, but the Golden Elk defense did not break, forcing an interception on a desperation pass on fourth down

and 22 to seal the victory.

“You know, yes. A walk usually gets egos inflated. Listen, we knew we weren’t getting a walk. We never get a walk with Rising Sun,” Feeney said of the victory. “It’s going to be four quarters. Like I said, it’s going to be who has the ball last. We got lucky that they had the ball last, and we made a play.”

The biggest takeaway Tiger head coach Clem Vaughan said his team can learn from their tough defeat is to learn how to put games away. “How to finish. When you have somebody on the ropes, you really have to finish. We’re there. We’re that close. We just need to finish,” Vaughan said.

Indians Drop Season Opener to Mustangs 34-7 After Costly Penalties

BEL AIR, MD - Coming off a 1-9 season last year, the North East Indians looked to erase the memories of last season with a big win on Friday at C. Milton Wright against the Mustangs. The Indians looked good in the first quarter and were able to contain the Mustangs offense and kept their opponent out of the endzone. The Indians were able to move the ball and were gaining confidence.

The Indians would lose three of their starters to unsportsmanlike conduct penalties when a fight broke out on the field at the end of the first quarter. Those three players would seem to be key parts to the Indians early success as the team lost its momentum from the first quarter and the

home team Mustangs would start to pull away and quickly started to put the game out of reach for the Indians.

A late score would put the Indians on the scoreboard but that would be too late for the Indians to rally and they end up with the 34-7 loss.

First-year QB, Senior Luke Keefer would pass for 122 yards going 10-20 with one TD and one INT. Keefer also would lead the team in rushing picking up 34 yards on nine carries.

Garrette Kirby and Mason Boyd both rushed for 17 yards on five carries each. DJ Anthony would get 16 yards on five carries.

Marcus Rivera caught one pass for 46 yards and had the only

TD of the game. Evan England would snatch 4 passes for 41 yards.

The Indians put up 215 total yards of offense with 122 in the air and 93 yards rushing.

Standouts on defense were #8 Collin Fulks who had 10 total tackles in the game with eight of those solo tackles. RJ Boyd #5 had 12 Total Tackles.

Next up for the Indians is a trip to Fallston for an unusual Saturday game at 12noon on September 10 at Fallston High School.

The Indians will host their Home Opener on Friday September 16 against the Joppatowne Mariners.

RYLEE LENZ AND A NEW GROUP OF EAGLES LOOK TO MAKE A PLAYOFF RUN AGAIN THIS YEAR

CHESAPEAKE CITY, MD - How will the Bo Manor Eagles top a 15-3 season that included a ninegame win streak, eight shut-outs, 1A East Region Championship, and a trip to the State Semifinals?

Simple, do it again. It won’t come without challenges however, as the Eagles graduated five seniors including Player of the Year Margaret McGlothlin. “It’s kind of a wave, you know you’re going to miss them tremendously, but there’s always someone next. It’s the nature of high school…kids graduate, and you have to move on” explained head coach Sabrina Larmer.

Sophomore Hannah Beck could be that “someone next” since putting a lot of work into her off season. She’ll attempt to fill some big shoes as she moves

up from JV into the setter role for the Eagles. Joining Beck at setter will be freshman Abby Wilson, who Larmer envisions big things for, “(She) showed the tenacity I needed to see in a setter. She’ll be developing over the next couple of years and has a bright future.”

Entering her eleventh season as the Eagles’ head coach, Larmer still hasn’t nailed down captains, but you’ll see some familiar faces returning to the court. All-County libero, Julia Holmes, is back for her senior year to command the defense after finishing second in the county with 238 digs, while All-County middle Rylee Lenz moves over to outside hitter for her senior year after registering 163 kills and 36 blocks a season before. In addition to Lenz, senior Simone Mattucci is looking to

make an impact in her final season as an Eagle. Other notable players to watch for is sophomore Hadlee Ham who was the lone freshman last year. “Hadlee has the experience of playing on a highly competitive varsity team despite being a younger player and knows what the expectations are so that she can pass that on to the other younger varsity players” says Lamar. The Eagles’ season kicks off August 30th at Edgewood, but the real challenge comes when they face the Bel Air Bobcats at home on September 9th and again on the road October 6th — the Bobcats handed Bo Manor their only two regular season losses a year ago. It’s shaping up to be another thrilling season for the Eagles, with anticipation of another deep playoff run.

GOLDEN ELKS LOOKING TO REPEAT 12-4 WINNING SEASON OF LAST YEAR

ELKTON, MD - The Elkton Golden Elks are coming off a memorable 2021 season, finishing 12-4 to capture a first-round bye, but ultimately losing to county foe Rising Sun in 2A East Region Semifinals. Let’s not forget, the Elks also had a remarkable 11 game win streak, including four matches with game five wins while on their quest for playoffs. However, losing such impactful players like All-County setter Mikayla Jefferson could mean major adjustments for the Elks.

Second year head coach Kim Brown will rely heavily on not just her seniors, but the juniors as well. “I’m looking forward to having

some juniors step into leadership roles that we can hopefully carry through to the next season... but I have some great seniors who work incredibly hard,” said Brown. Nevertheless, seniors Sophie Camphausen and Mya Ewing have demonstrated what it takes to lead the Elks this year. Keep your eyes peeled for junior Danielle Rogers as she takes over the duties in the middle. “Her improvement over the summer is incredible, I’m really looking forward to what she brings” Brown said of Rogers. Junior Danielle Davis is also looking to make an impact in the back row for the Elks.

“She’s willing to hustle and give up her body for every play,” said Brown. Overall, there is optimism for another winning season and continuing to improve the serving facet of their game, “we have some great servers on the team and are hopeful that will take us a long way.” The Golden Elks open their season against the Bo Manor Eagles on September 7th but matchups against the North East Indians should be something to watch for as they both exchanged wins on the road last season, including a thrilling game five win for the Elks.

PERRYVILLE LOOKS TO EXPERIENCED SENIORS TO LEAD TEAM INTO PLAYOFF RUN

PERRYVILLE, MD - While 2021 had its challenges for many teams, the Perryville Panthers just couldn’t catch a break. Between a covid outbreak on the team, injuries to key players, and the task of fitting in makeup games to an already tough schedule, Perryville still generated a playoff appearance in the 1A East Region Semifinals. This year, it’s a fresh start for the Panthers and they are ready for it. “Right now, everyone is healthy and we’re playing really well together” said Matt Borrelli, who is entering his tenth year as head coach. “There’s a lot of good energy, they’re all so supportive of each other and working really

hard.”

With the loss of two All-County players to the roster, Borrelli is looking for his seniors to provide the necessary qualities to lead a successful team this year. Captains Emily Burchett and Erica Schoerner are expected to take on that responsibility for their final season as Panthers. “Emily is our libero and she played travel ball over the offseason. She’s really improved so we’re going to count on her a lot in the backrow” Borrelli explained. Keep an eye out for other players like junior Ryleigh Racine and senior Riley Jackson, both expected to take swings as outside

Setters Melina Christofano and Alyxia Green are slated to round out the offense and distribute the ball to their teammates. Perryville opens the season against the Aberdeen Eagles on August 30th but it’s the inner county matchups to watch for as the Panthers look to redeem themselves against county foes like Bo Manor and Rising Sun, two talented teams they had to play back-to-back in the second half of the season last year. Anticipate a tighter match this go around.

LOOKING TO LEAD TEAM PAST REGIONALS IN 2022

RISING SUN - It was a slow start for Rising Sun last season, but once things clicked, the Tigers came out swinging. Finishing 8-9 overall, including a trip to the 2A East Region Finals, Rising Sun found some much needed late season success, going 7-3 in their final ten games.

After graduating three All-County players, second year head coach Logan Bowers is relying heavily on the seniors for leadership, “our juniors who are now

seniors this year, I’m really counting on them to step up.” Captains Bella Brumfield, Mollee Fraker, and Madison Weil are expected to run the team in their final year as Tigers. “I’m looking for Mollee to have a really good year on the right side” Bowers noted. “I’ve also got a couple of juniors that were brought up who I think are going to fit in very well, defensively.”

On the offensive side, look for junior Addison Pierce and sophomore Kendra Watters to

THE GOAL IS CLEAR FOR THIS YEARS LADY TITANS

NORTH EAST, MD - The Tome Titans are coming off a 10-7 season, finishing second in the Mid-Atlantic Independent League, but what may be most memorable from a year ago was the championship match against MIL rival, Tri-State Christian Academy. In an undeniably thrilling game, the Titans came up two points short of knocking off the Crusaders and spoiling their home court victory. But it’s a new season and Tome is fully prepared to showcase why they are expected to be a top contender in the MIL once again. “The goal hasn’t changed,” said head coach Chris Spencer, “we want to run that trophy back to Tome.”

Returning a majority of

the roster is certainly a great start. All-County setter Alivia Carrillo will take the helm as captain after leading the Titans in aces, digs, and assists last season. Joining Carrillo at captain will be junior Katy Bullerman who finished top five in the county for kills and notched an All-County Honorable Mention for her sophomore year. Add libero Lily Cronin to your watch list— the sophomore captain made great progress in the offseason. “Lily took huge strides during our club season and has established herself as a leader,” said Spencer, who’s entering his seventh season as head coach, “I’m really looking for her to step up in the back row this year.”

Another familiar face returning to the lineup is All-County hitter Grace Bradfield. The sophomore made quite a name for herself as a freshman, leading her team in kills while finishing fourth overall in the county. Bradfield and the rest of the Tome Titans will begin their quest back to the MIL Championship on September 6th, playing county rival West Nottingham Academy on the road. Other notable games to watch for include a match at home against the North East Indians on September 27th and of course, the rematch against MIL champions Tri-State Christian Academy at home September 23rd and on the road October 18th.

ELKTON, MD - Tri-State Christian Academy plans to continue where they left off after an incredible 2021 campaign, capturing the Mid-Atlantic Independent League Championship and finishing the season with an impressive 20-1 record.

Despite graduating All-County setter Skylar Klinger, the Crusaders are stacked with players ready to step into the role at any given time.

“We have six or seven girls who can jump in at any point to set. It’s a good problem to have,” said first year head coach Andy Mussaw. While the setter position is

not set in stone, you can count on another productive season from All-County hitter Baylie Thomas.

“She makes something out of every set that comes her way” remarked Mussaw. Thomas will lead her team as co-captain alongside honorable mention Etta Harris. “Etta is such a stand-up player, she’s also very volleyball focused” Mussaw noted. Harris will return to middle while All-County player Jules Harris will move over to offside, utilizing her blocking skills more efficiently. Mussaw also sees big things for senior Hope

Pfadt as she transitions to the middle after taking many of her swings on the offside position last season. The Crusaders begin their season September 8th versus Harford Christian School but there’s no doubt, the matches to watch for will be against The Tome School on September 23rd and October 18th. With a ton of talent and experience returning, look for Tri-State Christian to make a trip back to the MIL playoffs this November. “They’re already a great team” said Mussaw, “I want to challenge them even more.”

RAMS READY TO REBUILD WITH NEW COACH

COLORA, MD - The West Nottingham Rams are ready to rebuild after taking a huge hit to their roster due to graduation. Losing seven seniors including all three of their 2021 captains, the Rams are ready to move forward with a new coach and new players. Finishing 6-11 last season, interim head coach Laura Bienkowski is prepared to take it one day at a time.

“Losing seven seniors was a bit of a hit, however we have some outstanding freshmen this year that

are rounding out the team nicely” Bienkowski noted.

The Rams will be led by a pair of seniors, Jenniah Odige and Avian Josephs, who will be expected to demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to be a successful player, both on and off the court. Odige and Josephs are the only two returning players on the roster from a year before. Other players to watch include freshman RJ Bass and Casey Bienkowski.

West Nottingham kicks off their season at home on September 6th when they face county and MIL rival Tome Titans. Just three short days later, the Rams will travel to play Tri-State Christian Academy for another division matchup. With only nine players on the roster and little varsity exposure, this season could be a learning experience for the Rams’ underclassmen, which will only ready them for years of future success on the court.

Cecil’s Lady Seahawks lose to College of Southern Maryland 0-3

lege looked to add another victory to its ledger in its MDJuco volleyball contest against visiting College of Southern Maryland Thursday evening.

The Seahawks struggled to find any kind of consistency throughout the match as they fell to Hawks in straight sets (25-14, 2522, 25-19) to drop their record to 1-1 on the season.

“I think with 100% certainty we could have beaten them. Now, they’re a very strong team,” Cecil head coach Eden Barton said. “They were hitting it to spots we weren’t making adjustments to get to. It’s simply where you go on the court, and when we moved up, they would hit it over your head.”

The Seahawks came out with high energy and played Southern Maryland close during the first half of the first game, trailing 11-9 after twenty points, but the Hawks started to find empty places on the court to hit to, closing the frame on a 14-5 surge to earn a 2514 win and a 1-0 lead in the match.

Barton liked the way Cecil came out to start the first game, but a few errors in the middle of the first game seemed to put the Seahawks in a hole in which they did not recover from. “They came out hard. They came out with energy. I think we had some unforeseeable errors, and that turned into one then two then three points, which they really

couldn’t come back from,” Barton said. “They came back from it in the last ten points, but when you lose your energy in the beginning, it’s tough to regain it.”

The Hawks built off the momentum from the end of the first game to jump out to a 7-2 lead, but Cecil responded with its best stretch of volleyball as the went on a 15-5 run to take a 17-12 lead, forcing Southern Maryland to call timeout.

After the timeout, the Hawks bounced back, however, with a 13-5 game-closing run to win the set and increase their lead to 2-0 in the match.

Southern Maryland completed the sweep in the third game as they built a 10-5 lead and slowly pulled away from there to earn a 25-16 victory.

Barton believes that the Seahawks can learn from this game and apply it for the remainder of the season.

“In this game, you have to go back to the basics. Where is your base on the court? Where do you have to be all of the time? What are you looking at on the other side?,” Barton said. “Sometimes, when you get in the heat of the game and play, you don’t do that and get all clustered up in the center. Then, you lose your focus and have to reset. Going forward, it’s something you can always work on and really zone in on getting back to basics.”

Cecil got a teamhigh 11 kills and 12 digs while Skylar Klingler tallied 17 assists.

Even though the Gators ended up losing the fight, Barton inspired her former teammates. She continues to be a leader on the field and never gives up. Having her field hockey family cheering her on in the stands, despite the tough loss, Harley walked off the field with a smile on her face. “There’s our tiger!”,

some girls yelled. “That’s my goalie!”, others cheered. Cheering on Barton to start their season, the girls are ready for their first home game on Thursday against Harford Tech. Freshman on the team having not played with Barton, were able to see firsthand that once a tiger, always a tiger!

The stands were packed with excitement at Calvert Regional Park this past Saturday, as the Cecil Wolfpack took on many visiting teams from Harford and Baltimore County. The Cecil Wolfpack Cheer Squads kept the crowds hype with exciting routines, even joining the fans in crowd at one point.

The day kicked off with Flag Football and 6U taking on the Edgewood Rams at home, while 7U were on the road at Glasgow High School. Julian Taylor led the team in rushing and tackles with a 40 yard run.

Jayden Hernandez had several good runs as well in the 24-0 loss to the Delaware Wildcats.

9U hosted Perry Hall Gators in an exciting

10U hosted North Harford Hawks in a 28-6 victory. Durai Baker, Julian Cruz and Tavian Shamblin-West all contributed a touch down each in the big win. Gio Guina also had a key tackle that led to a recovery by LA Laws.

11U dominated Perry Hall Gators in a huge 40-6 victory. Armonee Minter-Caulk led her team with 2 TDs and two 2-point conversions. Noah Coursey and Justice Davis-Jackson both contributed touchdowns, with Evan Achuff having a pick-6 interception leading to a TD.

12U took on the defending league champs, Middle River Renegades in a 13-0 loss. Dallas Thompson led the team with three catches and a 50 yard run on a forced fumble.

14U had a big 2514 win over the Emmorton Buccaneers, to seal the final game of the night.

Makai Richmond, Zayd Fareed, Kalief Roberts and AJ Brooks all made big plays leading to touchdowns. Micah Johnson also had a couple key sacks in the exciting victory under the lights. Be sure to check out the Cecil County Wolfpack upcoming games happening on Saturday, September 10th. The Alpha Cheerleaders will be on the road with the 14U team to take on the Middle River Renegades in a big matchup this week.

CECIL COUNTY PARKS & RECREATION EVENTS CALENDAR

Car Show - 1st Annual

Cecil County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring their first annual Car Show to be held on September 24th at the Cecil Arena. Co-sponsored by Passion 4 Pavement, Car, Truck and Bike Club, vehicles of all kinds can register for this show, running from 10am to 3pm. Day of Vehicle check in is from 9am - 1pm. Food, Music, 50/50’s, as well as up to 500 vehicles of all shapes, sizes and years. Parking will be at Rising Sun High School with all the festivities taking place at the Cecil Arena, 2706 North East Road in North East Maryland. We’ll have over 100 trophies and over 700 paved spots on location. Awards will be given to the top 100 vehicles. Adult Soccer- Fall League

The Adult Indoor Soccer League will be a competitive league playing games on Sundays, beginning October 2nd at the Cecil Arena.Games will be played on Sunday nights beginning between 6:00 – 10:00pm depending on the number of teams registered by the deadline. Rosters, with a signed waiver for each player, and $400 registration are due before teams will be scheduled. The Team Captain/Representative must COMPLETE the Adult Soccer League Waiver/Roster

Form online before submitting payment. Teams will also pay ref fees of $20 per game given to staff onsite. If your team cannot make your scheduled game, and did not give a timely notice your team will have to pay for the refs time. Youth Kickball League

Cecil County Parks and Recreation will be hosting a Youth Kickball League this Fall! The season begins with practices starting in September and games starting September 13th. Players must register individually and teams will be randomly selected. Teams are co-ed and will practice once a week. Practice times and days will be determined by each individual coach. Registration fee is $40. Players will receive a team colored shirt. Games will be played on Tuesday nights at the Rising Sun Community Center Baseball Fields. There will be two age divisions: 8-9 years old and 1012 years old. There will be a cap of 45 players per age division. There will be a 6 week regular season schedule followed by playoffs. Elementary Movers- Soccer

Elementary Movers Soccer will be offered for 6 weeks this fall in various Elementary Schools across Cecil County. Movers will consist of six (6) weeks of practices, one (1) practice per week, with a Play Day at the end of the program. Practices will run from dismissal until 5:00pm at the school. Practice will be held weekly on Mondays. End of Season Play Day scheduled for November 19th at Calvert Regional Park. Rising Sun Fall Wrestling Open Clinic

The Rising Sun Junior Wrestling program will host fall clinics starting on Monday, September 12 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at the Rising Sun High School Wrestling Room and will continue every Monday night. Parks and Rec Cornhole League

Get your cornhole on! Our Cornhole League will run for six weeks followed by a one week playoff and will play Thursday evenings from 6-7pm at the Field 13 behind the Cecil Arena starting September 22nd. Participants can sign-up in teams of 2-3 players and must be 16 years old to play. Cost is $30 per participant. *Participants will need to park along the side of the Cecil Arena and use the pedestrian walkway to get to Field 13.
