DANIEL JIANG JUNIOR SAN MARCOS JOINED FRESHMAN YR WHAT PROMPTED YOU TO JOIN KEY CLUB? During my freshman year, a lot of my friends signed up for Key Club and I joined with them. I also saw a lot of upperclassmen posting about Key Club which intrigued the majority of freshmen to see what Key Club was all about. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ASPECT OF KEY CLUB? My favorite aspect of Key Club is meeting people who share the same passion of helping the community. At service events and meetings, I usually meet incredibly interesting people and I end up having a lot in common with them. This has led me to make plenty of friends through Key Club due to the initial commonality of loving to give back. HOW HAVE YOU GROWN BECAUSE OF KEY CLUB? I have grown for the better thanks to Key Club. Not only have my social skills developed tremendously due to leadership roles, but I’ve fostered a sense of enjoyment in giving back to my community. The feeling of fulfilment when participating in service events is a wonderful feeling that I will carry with me past my high school years. I would have never believed that community service is fun and enjoyable if I wasn’t in Key Club. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE EXPERIENCE FROM KEY CLUB? I think my favorite Key Club experience is running a booth at the Horse Heritage Festival. This is usually a joint event with Mission Hills, a school which I am much acquainted with. My best friends and I got to run a pumpkin decorating booth, which we get to help children with painting and accessorizing pumpkins — as well as making our own!
