From The Mind of Well, this has all came to an end. This winter is the first time in awhile I could sleep and wake up and step out to the shed and fire my bike up with no hesitation. I found this sweet cheap battery at an auto parts store. Since I don’t have permission to advertise for this company, I will just say I was in the zone. Okay? If you need more help than that then I don’t know what you need..

Big Ed aka 2Timer

Hello Again My Happy People! Finally, after many years of owning my bike and buying these name brand batteries, I found one that’s worth something. It came from an Auto parts store which was surprising to me. For years I kept buying from the catalog, which I will not speak its name and trust me, this catalog seems to be the one stop shop for all things motorcycle. Every time the cold would come in and the frost would hit hard I would try to crank my bike and I would get the ol’ hit and miss. And yes, I have also had a battery tender on it, but they didn’t seem to help during the really cold nights. We had a ride coming up recently and I was worried that I would once again be scrambling to snatch out the battery and carry it into the house to help warm it up and also hook it up to a charger. I have even missed rides simply because I couldn’t get the bike to turn over. I was seriously considering finding some high performance coils or something because my bike always seemed to have trouble starting. I was literally wishing there was a blue pill to get my bike acting like it was a teenager or something.

I stubble on this because of a ride we had coming up. It was Thursday night when me and the brothers were reminded of the upcoming ride and I knew it had already been battery killing cold out for the past couple of days. I was worried that I would be stranded looking at a limp ride. HAHAHA! Okay that’s kinda ga*…but anyway, I went home later that night and tested my fears. Sure enough, she was dead as f***. I was like damnit man. I had to work the next day and I didn’t have time to hit the Harley shop. Then a guy I work with told me to stop by the zone and get one there. I was like, bro! I don’t want some POS battery. He said, its always worked out for him and he’s been buying his battery form the auto parts store ever since. So, with not much time on my side, I slid into the zone and snatched up a battery. I was feeling it man. I just had this feeling I was going to kill 100 clams for a POS. Money is not something I can just kill when you got a big family and hungry mouths to feed. So yeah, I was skeptical. I installed the shock box and fired it up. I wasn’t worried at that moment because I just got this battery so yeah it’s going to work. I rode the ride that day and life went on. I rode the bike a few more times after the install and still no worries. All is good in 2Timer land man, but there hasn’t been a true test yet. Well, that changed just the other day. We had this ride coming up and I went to check the oil and tighten a few bolts to be sure I was going to come home just as I left. I’ve been a mechanic of companies all my life and I just know if God didn’t build it, it will fail. We have had some good frosty mornings in the past couple of weeks and it was frosty when I stepped outside to crank the bike. I stood there staring at my ignition switch getting myself prepped and ready for the disappointment. I put the bike in neutral and closed my eyes. I hit the switch…The bike fired up like a dream. Not slow mo, no maybe I will or I won’t. It was bam on point y’all! I was happy as a fat guy in a bakery shop. I said to myself, HELL YEAH! I hit the highway like I’d found the golden ticket to the chocolate factory son.
