We are a nonprofit organization formed with the mission to support troops and their family members by providing care and comfort items and expressions of appreciation for their service and sacrifices.

Packing care packages for deployed troops is a way to show your support and appreciation for the service and sacrifices by our military members. We also provide support for troops at home, their families and veterans. We have had a very busy year, while working through the challenges of Covid. Some of the challenges include losing the support of organizations who traditionally support us with fundraisers. We had to stop volunteer groups due to our small space which put more work on our team of volunteers who worked singularly or in small teams. We met these challenges while supporting troops through deployments, quarantines, homeland activations. We continued with support from caring volunteers and donors who want our troops to know that America cares about and appreciates their service. We will be posting our yearly statistics soon. Please continue to support our troops by: ~ order needed items from our Amazon list ~ support us with financial donations for postage ~ send cards and letters of support Ideas: Order items from Amazon, assemble goody bags with 6-8 items in a sandwich or party bag, add signed cards. Make as many as your family, church or bike group can help with! Make financial contributions for postage. Groups are welcome to setup GoFund me pages for postage. Our financial donations have dropped significantly and monetary donations for postage is our greatest need. Please don’t forget our military members who are serving away from home and family this year. Thank you!

THE MOTOREALTOR homes, many are left frustrated and usually back at square one after each small glimpse at home ownership. Enter our two wheeled, dare we say it, Hero? Opportunist? Daniel would say he’s not overly concerned with what you would call him....as long as you call him. With power sports sales up 18% in 2020, according to Roadracingworld.com, its safe to say that most riders were looking for an outlet. After being cooped up in your home under quarantine for most of the year even your most tame rider is itching to tear up a road or two. While you’re out getting some fresh air, why not tour the area and see what new construction homes are available? When Daniel asked this question he found the answer to be a roar of horse power and rubber that could not be ignored.The MotoRealtor soon found himself the leader of a continuous chain of new construction rides with motorcyclists that were both willing and able to purchase homes and chomping at the bit to eat up as much asphalt as possible along the way.

In a post Covid-19 world, normal is a word that has been removed from most of our vocabularies. Change has been the only constant and the ability to adapt quickly has been a requirement for any and all entrepenuaers in today’s world. The current housing market has seen a flood of qualified buyers thanks to historically low mortgage rates. Coupled with a fraction of the inventory of homes normally seen on the market, this has made a seller’s market of epic proportions. Any house that would usually be picked last in any recess game of dodge ball is suddenly swept up into a feeding frenzy of offers for ten to twenty thousand dollars over asking price. If you build it, they will come. New construction homes have emerged as an oasis of consistent timelines and a predictable housing source for many battle weary home buyers. After exhausting themselves attempting to outbid each other on less then desirable

Raleigh Clayton A 'Davis Ride'
Even the cold weather didn’t deter Raleigh Clayton Area Riders from hosting rides this Winter. There have been numerous planned rides in the last couple of months. We’ve been to Myrtle Beach, Buckhorn Reservoir and Wilmington just to mention a few. But one of our most recent favorites was our ‘Davis Ride’. On Sunday March 21st one of our members, Kara Judd Prater organized a ride for nineteen year old Davis Teitelbaum. This was actually the 2nd time RCA went out to visit Davis. A smaller group went out and visited with him back in November of last year. Davis got photos with each bike/biker and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. We would have to describe the most recent ride for Davis
as a ‘Step Above’. With the help of James Williams (Willie/Pops) Davis actually got to ride with us. Davis graduated from Holly Springs High School in 2020. He has multiple medical conditions including; arthrogryposis, polymicrogyria, Dandy Walker syndrome, a seizure disorder, perisylvian syndrome, osteopenia and a moderate intellectual disability. It’s undeniable that Davis and his family are faced with daily challenges. So planning to have Davis ride with us required some organizing and strategic planning due to his medical conditions. The Davis Ride was a HUGE success! Davis was waiting in his driveway with his family as he heard the rumble of 23 motorcycles turn into his

Area Riders - RCA neighborhood and park in front of his home. He was gifted an RCA T-shirt, a Harley Davidson T-shirt, stickers and a Gremlin Bell for his wheelchair. After a little visiting, he was carefully transitioned and secured for safety into the passenger seat of Willie/Pops HarleyDavidson Tri-Glide. Davis had expressed he wanted to go to Starbucks and that’s exactly where we went via mostly back roads of course. Davis’ caretaker followed us in their van. When it was time to head back to his house, he was asked if he needed to ride in the van and he was absolutely against that idea.
The only way he was going back home was with the rest of RCA, in the wind. It wasn’t any ordinary Sunday afternoon that day. It was an Extra Special Day spent with Davis and that big smile of his was the center of attention the entire time. Willie/Pops said it best that day, “We Could All Learn From Davis”. Yes Pops...we sure could.

By: Bob Seymour After a few months of being broke and stuck on the east coast and at my son’s place near Atlanta I’m finally on the road again doing what I love most. I’ve only been on the road for 5 days but I’ve done more ministry in those few days than I have in a month and I believe that’s just the beginning of what is gonna be a busy and productive summer. I wasn’t very confident that I would be able to continue to travel and minister because of my very limited resources but my God had a plan to get me back out on the highway that I never saw coming. I had been praying for a way to travel more efficiently because it normally costs about a hundred dollars a day and on my income I could only do 7-9 days. I knew in my spirit that God was doing something but I had no idea what it was until a couple weeks ago when He finalized the sale of my house to my daughter-in-law which was something I’ve been trying to get done for over 6 years. Even though I lost several thousand dollars in equity I still managed to have enough money to make some upgrades to Bullwinkle and to pay off some debts. While I was praying about how to use the money I had left a thought went through my mind to see if I could find a decent used pop-up camper to pull with Bullwinkle so I started to do a little research on them. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I didn’t know what I was looking for and I didn’t have a clue what a fair price for one was. I was praying about what to do when when a very good friends face came into my mind so I decided to message him to see if he had any advice about what to look for and what to avoid in a scooter trailer. I don’t think it took the brother I asked for advice more than five minutes to respond to my questions and his response caught me completely off guard. He said something like “Absolutely brother, you put a hitch on Bullwinkle and my wife and I will set you up!” I didn’t know what he meant by that and before I could ask him his wife sent me a link to a demo video of a pop-up camper for a scooter and she said that they had one they didn’t use anymore and they wanted me to have it.

I was hesitant about receiving it from them but they assured me that they didn’t use it anymore and that they wanted help me be able to continue with my ministry in the scooter world so I accepted their offer and had a trailer hitch installed. When everything I needed to have installed on Bullwinkle was ordered I had a brother take me to pick up the camper and take it back to my son’s place near Atlanta. All the work I wanted done was finished last weekend so I loaded up the trailer with everything I own and pulled out of Atlanta early Monday morning and headed to a friends place in Scottsburg, Indiana. I’d be less than truthful if I said I wasn’t a little concerned about pulling a trailer behind my scooter but I refused to let the uncertainty in my mind keep me from trying. Because I had absolutely no experience towing a trailer I decided to stay off the interstate and take secondary roads as much as I could. The routes I took went through some of the most beautiful scenery in the mountains of north Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. It was a picture perfect day to travel and though there was virtually no traffic 99% of the way it was a slow ride, it took me almost 12 hours to go 425 miles. Part of the reason it took so long was because I’m out of shape from being out of the saddle for so long and I was concerned about pushing Bullwinkle too hard in the mountains because he has 140,000+ miles on him. When I started out I was really worried because there was a very noticeable difference in the way Bullwinkle sounded. Because he sounded like he was working too hard I rolled back on the throttle, went down a gear and started praying for God to have mercy and keep him from blowing up on me in the middle of nowhere. After praying and sweating bullets about how hard pulling the trailer sounded like it was on Bullwinkle it hit me why he was sounding so loud.

nicles Road Again I have Vance and Hines Longshots on Bullwinkle and the end of the pipes are under and behind the saddlebags so I’ve never really heard the full throated sound of his engine before hooking up to the camper. I was relieved and at the same time feeling a little dumb when I realized that the reason he sounded so different was that the exhaust was echoing off the trailer. When I figured out the issue I laughed at myself, thanked God for answering my prayers so fast and I twisted the throttle a little more and went back to using 6th gear....
I’m not sure exactly when I will be leaving Scottsburg and heading west but if anyone happens to see me pulling “Natasha” behind Bullwinkle or if you see I’m coming close to where you are please don’t hesitate to reach out to me on Facebook because if possible I would love to stop and meet for coffee, a meal or whatever.
I’m looking forward to what the Lord has in store for what is possibly the last chapter of what has been an epic journey through tragedy to find and reestablish the God ordained vision and purpose for my life here on this earth….
I have been humbled a thousand times over by the way God has provided for my needs through the people He has connected me with across the country and this latest provision is more than a blessing, it’s a huge encouragement that I am doing something right. I have no doubt that it is God’s will for me to be out on the highways and byways meeting new people and sharing the good news that there is a loving God who desperately wants a relationship with everyone and this trailer is going to open new doors for me to fulfill the call on my life to minister to those who are lost or feel like they have been rejected by God and the Church. Because I’m over 65 I have a senior pass that gets me into all the national parks for free and gives me a discount on camping in them which will put me in a position to meet and share my testimony of God’s grace and favor with a lot more people from virtually every segment of society. The desire God has put in my heart to love people where they are continues to grow stronger as the days go by and the opportunities to express His love for the lost and lonely are only going to increase because of my friends response to the Spirit of God prompting them to give me their camper.

Hubby got cancer 6 years ago. Then we promised ourselves a trike. One day is one day, we said. Life went on, but the dream was always there. August 2020 the cancer came back and the Oncologist said it was a monster. Chemo and radiation again. This time, we did it - we sold our caravan and bought the trike. Loving every moment. Our mission is to give Honor to our War Heroes and to tell the story and ensure all citizens understand the history and the importance of the service to God and Country that every service member provides. This inspiring event’s two primary founders are the NC AMVETS Service Foundation, a 501(C) (3) charitable organization, and Bruce Tyler, a combat veteran and local business owner of Weldon Mills Distillery. REMEMBRANCE on the RIVER 2021 will include North Carolina Vietnam Traveling Wall, owned and built by AMVETS Post 906 in South Port, NC; John Dixon Vietnam Historic Display.-, and our Field of Flags. All Memorials and Displays will be open Thursday May 27- Sunday May 30 and are free to the public. Our very own, Bruce Tyler, US Army Retired, served 27 years in the Active Army, Reserves, and NC National Guard. He enlisted as a Combat Arms Soldier, was commissioned as a Military Police Officer and subsequently, a JAG Officer. Bruce and his Buddy Michael Hinderliter, started Weldon Mills Distillery, specifically Soldier’s Cut Bourbon, with a goal of raising funds for Gold Star Families.
This project is very important to Bruce, as his sister became a Gold Star Widow after her husband and his Blackhawk crew were shot down in Afghanistan. Bruce has been riding motorcycles since the age of 5 and will join the “Ride to Remember” riders for their last stretch into Weldon on Thursday, May 27th. Ride to Remember, Bruce Tyler, along with a group of AMVETS Ryders from Florida are estimating to arrive somewhere around 11:00 that morning at Riverfalls Park in Weldon, for anyone that may want to be present and show their support. We are also excited to announce that Weldon Mills Distillery will be offering tours and tastings. Their signature Soldier’s Cut Bourbon unveiled last year has been winning awards all across the board. This bourbon was created and is distilled right here in Weldon on the Roanoke River. NC AMVETS Service Foundation is a 501.3C Charitable Foundation. We are the charitable fundraising side of AMVETS.
This allows your donations to be non-taxable. We support many AMVETS programs such as JROTC, Americanism Youth Essay Contest, serving our veterans with trained Service officers to give professional support to access benefits and healthcare, community support and many other supports to our troops and veterans. We are following all recommended safety precautions and restrictions that are stil l in force due to COVID and ask that you adhere to these recommendations while on site for the event. We invite all to attend this unprecedented event in Northeastern NC and Southside Virginia. Come spend some time with us and then explore the rest of Halifax County NC. Hello My Happy People! The weather is perfect. Not a cloud in the sky. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and my sinuses are screaming! I have a love/ hate relationship with spring. I love not having to drag around those damn leathers, But the pollen rips my nose and eyes a new one every time. I’m okay, I guess. I don’t mean to sound like a big baby. YES, I need a tissue, maybe the whole box. Me and the brothers from the club rode to our other Brothers from a different mother,Tuckahoe MC, for their annual Biker Olympics. The ride was fantastic and the games are always fun. I would name the list of events, but I’ll just leave that to those who have experienced it. I also would like to add, Unspoken Sons MC never leaves our second home empty handed after the events. I also want to add, thank you to my brothers of Tuckahoe MC. We always look forward to this every year. I love this shit man! Something about it. I’m definitely not casting a shadow on my solo riders, but there’s something about riding with a crew. I really can’t put it into words. I mean regular people come and go in your life. You meet someone at work, you may go swing a round of golf. Maybe hit a fishing hole somewhere, but when you become a brother in the MC world. It’s

different. I’ve never been in the military. I think highly of the men and women who serve. Especially with my Dad serving in Vietnam. I just think it’s the closest feeling I can get to the camaraderie. It’s no secret that riding motorcycles has you chasing the cloak of the reaper. You face death almost every single time you climb on to your sled, man. Yea…You can say that about cars and trucks, but you are in a cage, man. On that bike though, there is nothing between you and the pearly gates but a split second of opportunity for the reaper to make a sudden stop and you are in the reapers hands. That’s the thrill. The rush of burning down the road at 100 mph. Don’t you lie, you know have twisted the throttle back and caught that rush. To see the dotted line turn solid and feel that bike start to feel just a bit uneasy but you keep on digging for more. Hell son, I’m 44 years old and still taunt the devil sometimes. Not as much as I did in my early 20’s. I’ve got way too much live for now days, but once in a while. I twist that throttle back and can feel myself catching up to a set of wings and a halo HAHAHA! As I was saying about riding with a crew, it’s the best feeling in the world especially when you have been riding with your club long enough that you learn their moves and know where they are going long before the first signal light starts to blink. It’s all one motion like a engine with the timing set perfect. I don’t care where I’m at in the lineup. In the back catching the road grime or in the middle. Well, I do got to say there is something pretty cool about riding at the front of the pack. Something about knowing each one of your brothers riding your six has your back. I mean, it’s that way no matter where in the pack you are, but it’s a good feeling being in front. I especially dig it when you rolling in your home town. Unspoken Sons have made a 10 year mark. Sure, we are still young but we are now pretty known in our town. So when you are rolling up front, It just feels good to me. Call me strange, but I just dig it and another thing is, I see my prez in the same light as if my mother gave birth to him. Nasty, is a good man a great leader and he’s always thinking ahead. He’s honest and straight up no matter if it’s going to hurt your feelings. So yeah, I dig riding up front with him. He’s done a lot to build this club. He’s ate a lot of shit. He’s guarded this club and stood his ground to keep it. Some of the new guys only see what’s in front of them. Don’t know the balls it took to create this MC and what was laid at risk to keep it rolling. No it’s not a one man show, the brothers of the club kept it moving forward, but Nasty has poured his heart and soul in to it and I respect him for it. Just so you know, this is not some kiss ass words I’m spitting on this page. I’m not built like that, but as I’ve always heard growing up, ( Real knows real ) and there is a whole lot of real in Nasty. Even though the times are changing and the PC world is overflowing in to the MC world.

US Air Force 1966 - 1970
Charles Sykes of Rocky Mount, N.C., enlisted in the USAF in 1966. After basic training at Lackland, AF Base in Texas, he went to Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City, S.D. He was assigned to the the 821st Combat Defense Squadron as a security guard on the flight line. Then he went to missiles (same squadron) and was an escort driver. He escorted missiles, guidance systems for missiles, and nuclear war heads to the missile sites. These missile sites were built as a deterrent to a nuclear strike by the Soviet Union. He was given a top security clearance and worked in Wing Security Control as a COM Plotter. He served 3 years at Ellsworth. After Ellsworth, Sykes was sent to San Antonio, Texas for AZR School where he had weapons training and survival skills training. He was then sent to Udorn, Thailand during the Vietnam War and served with the 432nd Security Police Squadron Pacific Air Command.

While at Udorn his daughter became sick and at 8 months old needed surgery to remove a kidney. She had a 50/50 chance at survival. Sykes came back stateside on Emergency Leave. He asked to get re-assigned to Seymour Johnson in Goldsboro, N.C. because of his daughter’s health and was denied. He was soon flown back to Udorn, Thailand where he completed his assignment with the United States Air Force and was then honorably discharged. Charles Sykes is the father of Behind Barz Editor, Debbie “Doobie” Sykes.
Ray Schmitz is a self-taught artist who is able to capture the free wheeling spirit of a Texas cowboy or the majestic beauty of a flying eagle. He served 4 years in the US Air Force. He especially likes to work with “everyday people” who freely share the passion for their life’s moment, real or imagined, being illustrated. Maybe we should look at this from all directions. Cage driving can allow for alot of distracted driving. Most riding is for living to ride and riding to live. We have to be in total consciousness of ourselves and everyone and everything around us . So, as much as bikers are aware of wheeled cages, cagers need to be in awareness of us! An experienced rider has heightened senses to all of his or her surroundings, and most likely you’ll never hear “I didn’t see it coming”. JESUS’ Disciples didn’t see His Crucifixion, Death, and Resurrection coming, even though Jesus foretold them.
