POST COVID, È LA TECNOLOGIA IL VERO VINCITORE POST COVID, TECHNOLOGY IS THE REAL WINNER “Il passato è certo, il presente è brevissimo, il futuro dubbioso” ammoniva il filosofo Seneca. E in effetti tutto e il contrario di tutto si è detto intorno alla crisi e alla ripresa economica dopo il Covid 19. Cosa accadrà passata l’emergenza: si tornerà a una nuova forma di comunità globale, prevarranno gli egoismi o non cambierà nulla? In molti Paesi uno dei mantra è stato: introdurre misure restrittive non rischia di creare danni superiori a quelli causati dal virus? La cura rischia di essere peggiore della malattia? “Fino a quando potremo permetterci di dire che una vita umana non ha prezzo?” si è chiesto l’Economist. Alec Ross, scrittore di fama mondiale, esperto di tecnologie ed ex consigliere di Stato per l’Innovazione giustamente ha sottolineato “I virus non rispettano le leggi dell’economia. Il vero tema è quanto velocemente possiamo far ripartire l’economia senza compromettere la vita e i sistemi sanitari”. Oggi la maggior parte degli esperti concorda sul fatto che, a fine epidemia, le regole del gioco saranno cambiate. Una trasformazione epocale potrebbe essere di natura politica. L’investitore miliardario Leon Cooperman ha dichiarato che l’inevitabile e massiccio sostegno dei governi alle aziende in crisi per via del coronavirus cambierà il capitalismo per sempre: le economie saranno profondamente vincolate ai piani di Stato e le tasse saranno più alte, per chi le potrà pagare, a sostegno dei servizi fondamentali e della spesa pubblica. Eppure in questo sconvolgimento le cui conseguenze a medio-lungo termine sono ancora incerte, la tecnologia sembra essere il vero vincitore. Di fatto è lo strumento principe che, in mezzo a tantissime difficoltà, sta garantendo la gestione dell’emergenza sanitaria e la continuità delle attività produttive e sociali. Non c’è mai stata un’epoca in cui l’essere umano è stato dipendente dalla tecnologia come quella attuale. Senza Automazione, connessioni remote, app, Intelligenza Artificiale, piattaforme Cloud e Big Data, singoli individui, famiglie, istituzioni, strutture sanitarie ed educative si troverebbero in guai seri. Senza tecnologie digitali, nelle aziende non si parlerebbe di Smart Working, ecommerce, webconference, eventi virtuali, digital supply chain, manutenzione remota, Web Marketing etico e low cost. Altro che Industria 4.0, è stata la pandemia il vero acceleratore verso la digitalizzazione, soprattutto dal punto di vista culturale e organizzativo. Il virus ha generato una situazione che ha portato le aziende ad operare in un ecosistema in cui il ruolo dei servizi digitali è diventato fondamentale. Non solo per aumentare la redditività e i profitti ma per sopravvivere.

What will happen after the emergency: will we return to a new form of global community, will selfishness prevail or will nothing change? In many countries one of the mantras has been: isn’t the introduction of restrictive measures likely to create more damage than the virus? Does the cure risk being worse than the disease? “How long can we afford to say that a human life has no price?” asked the Economist. Alec Ross, a worldrenowned writer, technology expert and former Government Advisor for Innovation rightly pointed out “Viruses do not respect the laws of economics. The real issue is how quickly we can restart the economy without compromising life and health systems”. Today, most experts agree that, at the end of the epidemic, the rules of the game will have changed. An epoch-making transformation could be political in nature. Billionaire investor Leon Cooperman said that the inevitable massive government support for companies in crisis because of the coronavirus will change capitalism forever: economies will be deeply tied to state plans and taxes will be higher, for those who can pay them, in support of basic services and public spending. Yet in this upheaval whose medium to long term consequences are still uncertain, technology seems to be the real winner. In fact, it is the main instrument that, in the midst of so many difficulties, is guaranteeing the management of the health emergency and the continuity of productive and social activities. There has never been a time when human beings have been as dependent on technology as there is today. Without Automation, remote connections, apps, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud and Big Data platforms, individuals, families, institutions, health and educational facilities would be in serious trouble. Without digital technologies, companies would not talk about Smart Working, ecommerce, webconference, virtual events, digital supply chain, remote maintenance, ethical and low cost web marketing. Other than Industry 4.0, the pandemic has been the real accelerator towards digitization, especially from a cultural and organizational point of view. The virus has generated a situation that has led companies to operate in an ecosystem where the role of digital services has become fundamental. Not only to increase profitability and profits but to survive.
