WHAT WILL I LEARN?
This course is designed for students who wish to progress into a career in the childcare or health and social care industry. The course will cover topics including communication, safeguarding, equality and diversity, physical care for babies and health and nutrition of both adults and children.
This course is delivered through a combination of both practical and theory sessions. Practical sessions will take place in our specialist health and social training wing which will provide you with the very best equipment to train with. During the course you will cover key topics such as communication, equality and diversity, human growth and development and safeguarding as well as completing a work placement.

3 GCSEs at grade 2/E or above or an entry level qualification in a related course. On completion of the course you could progress on to our level 2 courses in childcare or health and social care.
4 GCSEs grade 3/D or above or a level 1 qualification in a related course. After you have completed this course you could progress on to our Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care or secure an apprenticeship.
If you don't already have a GCSE grade 9-4/A*-C, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main programme of study.
