Volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you can do gain experience and sometimes even qualifications.

hinking about how you want to benefit from volunteering is a good start to finding an opportunity that's right for you. As a volunteer you can: t Gain confidence. Volunteering can help you gain confidence by giving you the chance to try something new and build a real sense of achievement. t Make a difference. Volunteering can have a real and valuable positive affect on people, communities and society in general. t Meet people. Volunteering can help you meet different kinds of people and make new friends. t Be part of a community. Volunteering can help you feel part of something outside your friends and family. t Learn new skills. Volunteering can help you learn new skills,

t Take on a challenge. Through volunteering you can challenge yourself to try something different, achieve personal goals, practice using your skills and discover hidden talents. t Have fun! Most volunteers have a great time, regardless of why they do it. Whether you have a little or lots of time to give there will be something you could to do support your community. By giving your time you are helping the organisation you volunteer for, you're also helping the people and communities they support. Age UK Hereford & Localities offer a range of volunteering opportunities including: t helping with reception, admin and data inputting in our office t joining our Reaching You team who provide practical support to older people such carrying out small jobs in the home, gardening, shopping and companionship

t volunteer for our footcare service, which provides a much needed toenail cutting service, helping people to remain safe and steady on their feet t Information & Advice, helping people to maximise their income and continue to live at home, the homes they love and hold so many cherished memories t IT/computer support t helping with coffee mornings and lunch clubs We welcome new volunteers and appreciate the skills and experience they bring, helping us to support older members of our community so that they can maintain their dignity, health and independence.
