GARSTANG IN BLOOM The Bloom team have worked very hard throughout the last few weeks planting out the summer bedding into the beds, barrels and troughs. This has included the Arts Centre and Cherestanc Square this year. We hope that you have noticed them! In the week beginning Mon 19th July, the judges from the RHS North West in Bloom were in town to award their marks. We crossed our fingers for sunshine and hoped that everything looked wonderfully floral for the visit. Don’t forget that we’re always ready to welcome new volunteers, so if you’d like to come and help us prepare for this date, please do. You don’t even need to do any gardening - litter-picking and sweeping may be enticing alternatives!

Speaking of litter-picking, we had lots of helpers for our latest session with Wyre Borough Council as part of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign. This cleared Garstang of a great deal of litter after the sunny Bank Holiday weekend.

Our plant sale on the High St was also very successful and we raised a record amount of over £600 towards our funds. Thank you to all who contributed and bought plants, pots and seeds.
