Autumn Rain 2020 Vol. 94

L etter from the editor Dear Readers, The whirling, swirling leaves are falling down, as the Autumn Rains scatter them on the ground. Wake up! The harvest moon is all aglow it will soon be Hallows Eve and there will be quite a show! Steady and slow as they go, little ghosties and goblins with plenty of spook in tow! Through a child’s eyes there is an element of wonder and surprise. For the weary, worn and sometimes forlorn, it may help to discover the magic of the season, if only with scant imagination. There is no gory in the glory of things unseen, but plenty of keen insight with the wise old owl. What lies ahead? It is best to dwell on the present instead. Redemption is near and it is perfectly clear that the journey has been a complicated one. Rest easy my friends, there is still time for the planet to heal and mend. Exploration is key in searching for the sacred heart of salvation. The fabric of humanity is wearing thin, but still strong enough to save a country, a nation. The world is evolving as we struggle not to lose our grip while we experience this wild ride. Rest assured, weary ones, I am by your side, in darkness and in light. We shall overcome. Yours in Health,

Jane Phillips Editor in Chief Publisher / Owner

Signature Profile FARE Kicks Off Annual Teal Pumpkin Project Keeping Spirit of Halloween Alive and Communities Safe During COVID-19 Although Halloween looks different this year, FARE (Food Allergy Research and Education), the world’s leading nongovernmental organization engaged in food allergy advocacy and the largest private funder of food allergy research, announced today the continuation of its renowned Teal Pumpkin Project. This initiative aims to raise awareness surrounding food allergies by making Halloween safer and more inclusive for all trick-or-treaters while remaining mindful of the challenges presented by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. “As families determine how to safely celebrate Halloween this year, FARE is reminding parents to make these celebrations as inclusive as possible for all children, including those with food allergies,” said Lisa Gable, chief executive officer of FARE. “Earlier this year we launched Living Teal™, an initiative driven by inclusivity to grow our community and raise awareness of food allergies, but also inspired by the wonderful success we have seen with Teal Pumpkin in years past and a desire to make every day and every holiday more accessible to everyone. ”The Teal Pumpkin Project encourages participants to place a teal pumpkin in front of their homes to show they have nonfood treats available for children with food allergies or necessary dietary restrictions. Many popular Halloween candies contain nuts, milk, egg, soy, wheat or sesame, which are among the most common allergens. Additionally, many miniature candy items do not have labels and may be formulated or manufactured differently than full-sized candies of the same brand, making it difficult to determine whether these items are safe. While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have declared the traditional Halloween celebration of trick-or-treating a high-risk activity, FARE has created an online hub for families to find resources, spark creativity, and take the Teal Pumpkin Pledge, all (Continued on pg. 11)

moments in many amazing places. A road trip to west Texas’ Big Bend and Marfa started the journey. Three trips to Santa Fe - and each uniquely different. I have fond memories of trips to NYC, Ft. Lauderdale, South Padre Island, Washington State, and the coast of Oregon. The highlight of the year was an Alaskan Cruise. The year 2020 has been extremely different. Ray and I, however, truly enjoyed the “down” time and created new ways to experience and enjoy travel.

2019 was a very special year for me in regards to traveling.

I am going to share our first trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico in August of 2019. It was filled with such cool experiences. Ray, my son Ari, and son-in-law David and I, made this trip together. It even sparked Ari and David to make a move to New Mexico in October of 2019. My son is a bit like his mother: a gypsy soul.

I had the amazing opportunity to explore Zen

choose to drive the scenic route, the Turquoise Trail. The Turquoise Trail in New Mexico is a picturesque highway linking Albuquerque and Santa Fe though rolling hills with mountain views and historic mining towns. Tips for enjoying the Turquoise Trail: • Gas up. There are no gas stations along the rural parts of the trail • Plan to stop in Madrid to eat - You won’t regret it • Allow a half-day, if you are driving with just a few stops in mind, or a full day, if you’re going to enjoy exploring the historic towns. We decided to take in the scenery and enjoy lunch and shopping in Madrid. Once a coal mining town, Madrid’s streets are lined with former miner’s homes now converted into shops and galleries. Our choice for lunch was an adorable and delicious restaurant called, The Hollar. We sat outside and enjoyed the cool mountain air and some great food. Between the four of us, we sampled a variety of great dishes. We enjoyed the house specialty of Fried Green Tomatoes: green tomatoes battered and fried served with a lavender béchamel sauce. We also ordered the chili Rellenos, a Nicoise Salad and Seared Ahi Tuna served with fruit and wasabi mayo. After lunch we strolled the streets of Madrid for shopping and sightseeing. We rented a fantastic house in Eldorado, located just south of downtown Santa Fe, near the base of the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The amenities included a great kitchen, outdoor space and the privacy of country living, while still being quite close to all the activities we planned for our stay. Over the course of the week, we enjoyed horseback riding, the Santa Fe Opera and a road trip to Taos. Ari arranged for us to go horseback riding and it was a blast. I would highly recommend it if you decide to make a trip. We went with a company called Vision Quest and the owner, and our guide, is amazing. hour private ride that exceeded our expectations. For more information: visionquesthorsebackrides.com The Santa Fe Opera House is a world-renowned venue that plays host to a variety of operas each summer. The venue itself is an open-air theater surrounded by both the Sangre de Cristo and Jemez mountain ranges, which means it offers some gorgeous views. Ari and I have been going to the Opera since he was a little boy. In fact he sat through a 3 1/2 hour production of Faust at five years old and was more attentive than most adults. David and Ari treated us to a performance of La Boheme. And this was Rays very first Opera. What a spectacular place to view your first performance. The show was breathtaking, right along with the sunset and scenery. For more information: santafeopera.org Next was our day trip to Taos. We decided to take the High Road to Taos and return to Santa Fe along the scenic Low Road (Approximately 165 miles roundtrip). Our first stop was Chimayo, a small village located 25 miles north of Santa Fe. This quaint northern New Mexico town is also the home of the famous Santuario De Chimayo (a National Historic Landmark). Built between 1814-16, the church remains a pilgrimage destination for devoted Christians each Holy Week. And many attribute the red clay of the Santuario with miraculous powers of healing. There is a local bakery in the village and we grabbed some Mexican coffee and little apple pies and biscochito cookies. Delicious! The High Road to Taos reminds you of Old Spain, still evident in the religion, architecture, history and people along the route. The drive also included 30 scenic miles through Carson National Forest. After arriving to Taos, we took a walk through the historic Towne Square as well as an authentic New Mexican lunch. After lunch, we visited the Taos Pueblo, a living Native American community. We chose to take our time in this special place and not go on a guided tour. It was amazing feeling the energy (Continued on pg. 6)

throughout the village. The Pueblo is made entirely of adobe. Approximately 150 people live within the Pueblo full time. For more information on the Pueblo: www.taospueble.com Returning from Taos we traveled The Low Road (NM 68) along the Rio Grande for part of the journey. Traveling the Low Road you can experience New Mexico’s northern wine & distillery trail. This is also a fruit-growing area and roadside stands offer the season’s freshest produce. On our way back to Santa Fe, we saw plenty of kayaks on the Rio Grande and made a note about having to enjoy that at a later date. Two of my favorite dinning experiences are at opposite ends of the spectrum. The Compound restaurant, is a formal, fine dining establishment (www. compoundrestaurant.com) and Shake Foundation, is a vintage-style hamburger stand with picnic tables (shakefoundation.com).

the standard vanilla and chocolate, to lavender and salted caramel. I cannot end this journey without mentioning one of my favorite places in Santa Fe, Kakawa Chocolate House. (www.kakawachocolates.com) This is a stop I make on every trip! Kakawa is a specialty chocolate company whose passion is historic chocolate elixirs. This includes traditional Pre-Columbian, Mesoamerican, Mayan and Aztec elixirs. Their oneof-a-kind creations include truffles, agave caramels, solid dark chocolates and delicious homemade ice cream. My favorite mid-afternoon pick-me-up is called the Mayan, which is brimming with herbs, flowers, nuts, spices and chili. Add a couple pieces of specialty chocolates and you’ll be energized for shopping at Historic Santa Fe Plaza. Don’t forget to pick up some piñon coffee, southwestern blankets and a special piece of turquoise jewelry. More on the Plaza and shopping in series two.

The Compound is located in the Canyon Road art gallery district. Ray and I treated ourselves and the boys. It is an elegant restaurant with excellent service and divine food. First courses included: a Summer Sweet Corn Soup served with Crabmeat-Coleslaw, Tuscan Lettuce Salad with candied walnuts, breakfast raids and danish blue Cheese Creme Fraiche Dressing. Our entrees were an Alaskan Halibut with corn succotash and lobster bisque and Main Lobster tails with Bucatini Pasta. Amazingly, we had room for dessert. We shared the Compound Classic Dark Chocolate Opera cake with Espresso Mousse and Espresso Sorbet and the Big Cherry Tart with Pistachio Ice Cream. Magnificent!

My Zen moments were our quiet evenings together as a family in our adobe AirBnB, enjoying David’s cooking and fine conversation, our time at Taos Pueblo.

The Shake Foundation is vintage-style walk up hamburger stand. Their motto is “Dedicated to the Preservation of the Original Green Chili Cheeseburger. We, of course, all ordered Green Chili Cheeseburgers and fries. Also on the menu is a Fried Oyster Sandwich, New Mexico Shepherd’s Lamb Burger and Green Chili Stew! We also enjoyed their famous shakes. The flavors change daily, ranging from

Order of Peace by Wayne Holmes

the title, Every Path Leads Home: Opening to Your Spiritual Journey. Learn more about Wayne’s healing work at ReligiousRecovery.org.

One way to have peace in our lives is to teach peace. Of course, this principle holds true for many things. If we want more love, we teach love. When we teach, we are our best students because in teaching we study to know our subject, and the ideas become solidified in our minds, and ultimately it is embedded into our hearts.

Wayne Holmes’ Set Your Course shares six months of reflections that will give readers a path to spiritual freedom and help them connect to their soul and inner spirit. Not only does it provide healing from past religious abuse, but also abuse of nearly any form, and beyond that, it provides a path towards taking solid control of one’s religious and spiritual journey.

In the book, Every Path Leads Home,[1] the concept of peace is defined as our ability to tolerate, accept, embrace, forgive, and love. There is no right order of these concepts. In the book they are placed in what felt like a natural order of progression, but it doesn’t always work from point A to point B. Peace is achieved in many ways and instilled when we decide to teach it, even if our audience is only a few people or even one.

“

The order in which we reach peace is not important, just like the order in which we work the Steps of the Religious Recovery program isn’t our main concern. The important thing is to strive for peace and love no matter what path we take to get there.

–Liz Loring Educator, Life Coach & Group Facilitator

It wasn’t until I donned a clerical collar that I came to understand how people viewed religious leaders differently. Some were comforted by my presence while others seemed ill at ease. “Before long I realized that many had been damaged through judgment, guilt, rejection, and condemnation by a religion or by someone religious. I’m happy to report that these people do not have to languish in fear, depression, or resentment. “In Every Path Leads Home, Wayne Holmes has created a brilliant and very gentle way out of religious abuse and intolerance into peace, happiness, and personal freedom. “It is a way to heal us all. –Rev. Mr. Holmes’ words resonate way beyond the printed page—they vibrate within your heart as truth. I absolutely LOVE this book! It is the best bridge I have seen joining traditional religion, spirituality, and the spiritual nature of us all. “The integrity of the author in revealing his own story is authentic, reminding me of the humanness of all of our experiences. I felt wrapped in the arms of loving kindness throughout the whole book. I predict this book will enlighten all who read it.

Wayne Holmes’ Every Path Leads Home is a beautiful book of acceptance. Our lives on this plane of existence are of short duration, and we are all “headed home. Different faith experiences define “home differently, and each suggests a path or paths. For anyone who has been abused by the supposed rules and strictures of a church or congregation or pastor, for anyone who has come to see religion not as a faith experience but rather as a set of ironclad rules, for anyone who has grown weary of the struggle to find God by whatever name: Every Path Leads Home is a must-read.

Every Path Leads Home:

Sometimes peace comes when we embrace another even if we haven’t reached the point where we can accept or even tolerate their point of view. We might never agree with them or they with us. Sometimes love comes before any of the other steps, and even though we’re not quite ready to forgive or embrace, our hearts find a common place of respect, and we allow love to bring us together, setting aside our differences.

Artist of Life, Drawing from Within by Patti Lightflower

“There are two types of creators in the world. One type of creator works with objects; a poet, a painter, they work with objects, they create things. The other type of creator, the mystic, creates himself.” Osho

of bliss, meditatively, prayerfully, making repetitive moves with the bobbins of thread and watching as beautiful pieces of delicate lace fabric manifested in the process.

Craftswomen and men since early humanity possess a knowledge of a source and process for inner wellbeing. Working with our hands soothes the mind and soul. The Mayo Clinic lists being creative or having a hobby as a great stress reliever. It helps take the mind off worries and concerns as you focus on the task and goal at hand. A wave of peace melts away tension and stress as you work.

Even if you have no talent, finding a creative project and involving yourself in the process offers a sense of accomplishment and feelings of productiveness. As you pour yourself into your craft, you also over time develop your own style. This adds a sense of selfworth and of being a unique individual. The mystic creating self. Making something tangible also satisfies an urge that many of us instinctively feel, to leave something of ourselves here on earth.

When I began seriously studying hand analysis in the 80’s it was quite popular to say the hand was a printout of the brain. However, studies in recent decades show that using our hands also program the brain. This corresponds to how lacemakers were frequently nuns. I can see them absorbed in a state

decorative embroidery. The word means “little stabs” in Japanese. The rhythm of poking the needle in and out, while your task at hand clears your mind, helps you to focus and reach a state of inner peace. The piece below is a beautiful example of a Stitch Meditation by Judy Peace. Take a few moments and look at the details. If you have been working on your apron with me or another piece, perhaps this will motivate and inspire you to try a little meditative stitching yourself. It really is a wonderful thing to do to release stress.

About the Author, Patti Lightflower: “I’ve always enjoyed working with textiles. As a child I watched my grandmother turn color cotton feed bags into play clothes. I designed and made dresses for my dolls from scraps of fabric and shoes for them from orange peels, which I pretended were leather. I’ve taken art classes at the University of Cincinnati in the 70’s, and have studied with textile artists at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, as well as with many other professionals in their studios over the years. My long time passion has been the study of hands and their owners, being creative and expressing my artistic side allows for manifesting something tangible whereas reading hands is more esoteric. Occasionally, I offer small group sessions for working with dyeing silk and other fun creative projects that allow freedom of expression and finding that within heart is art.” Patti Lightflower can be contacted at pattilightflower2@ gmail.com and more information can be found at her website: www.ireadhands.com

“I started working on this piece because I came across information on Stitch Meditation. I used to sew often but hadn’t for years. When I read the article, I liked the idea that in ‘Stitch Meditation’ you just stitched whatever flowed from you. No judgement, no destiny, no purpose. This felt so good to move pass the judgment of a good/bad piece. As I started the process, I had no intention except to begin, to pick up the needle and thread to see what would come forth. The four elements appeared earth, air, fire, and water. After the piece was completed, I notice that in repeating the sequence of the elements I had created an infinity symbol, which can represent simplicity and balance. It takes us to the center of our being, moving from past or future, where we connect with the now moment, where all creativity flows. It was an enjoyable meditation and a pleasant reminder to live from the now moment.” ~Judy Peace

The Truth in Autumn by Cynthia M. Brown I love all the seasons of the year. There is something special about them all: The crystalline beauty and magic of winter, dazzling white snow and crystal blue skies; the delight in Spring with the return of green and the splashes of pastels in the garden, the bird song and the warm kisses of the sun; the blazing glory of primary colors in summer and the heat of the intense long shining sun; and the pungent smell of leaves on the breeze and the fiery blaze of the forests of fall. While they are all special, there is something profoundly beautiful in the fall. Like its equinox cousin spring, this is a season where people actually travel to view the color. In spring it is the forest and prairie wildflower walks. In Autumn, it is the color of the forest itself. The profound thing for me is that this is the time of year when the earth’s sentries, her trees, show their true color. All summer, they mask their nature beneath the work of making food. When that work is done, they relax and sigh in the ecstasy of their natural colors, their beauty roaring to the tips of their leaves and filling the countryside with a riot of blazing color. Then, slowly, as the breezes grow stronger with the turning of the north winds, their beauty slips from the fingers of their branches, wafts to the earth to nurture the ground that will help feed them as they sleep and the cycle will begin again. The thing is, we, humans, hunger for their beauty. We drive to the heart of deciduous tree country just to be able to walk among these glorious living things as they share their true nature with us and the world each year. We ravenously fill the parks and nature preserves and forest trails to smell the earth change from a time of explosive business and production to one of rest and slumber. We glory in the north wind as it turns toward us, bringing cooler days and crisp nightfalls. We luxuriate in the lengthening shadows as the sun slips its summer yoke and slides into darkness more quickly, signalling the earth and all its inhabitants to rest. I wonder if we understand why this is. I wonder if, in the midst of changing time to fit our busyness, in the glare of all our lights that fend off the slumber of nature, in the clamorous drive to go see nature “out

10

there in the woods”, if we really understand what the earth is telling us. I believe, as is often quoted from the Bible and the song, there is a time for everything. I believe we crave this space in nature because we crave a safe space in which to be our authentic selves. We are hungry to cast off the drive to produce and to just be, to shine in our natural beauty and brilliance. Autumn gives us a moment of rare beauty and a glimmer of hope that there can be a time and a place for us to just be, to sigh, breathe deeply, shine brightly and fully and to rest. We call our advancing years the autumn of our lives. It is a time when the work of child rearing and preparing for retirement and old age is complete. I am close to sixty; dangerously close. What if I want my autumn now? What if I want and need that hope of rest and being fully myself now? What if I have needed it all my adult life and have simply bought into the lie that I had to wait until it was time? What if I decided to believe it is time now? What if I lived my life as if yesterday was a memory and immutable in time and tomorrow was a dream not promised? What if I lived in my own authenticity now? What if the truth in autumn is really that, beneath what appears, the authentic nature is still here? What if, all we have to do is make time for it to show itself? What kind of colorful, amazing, gloriously beautiful world of people we would live in? The truth is we already do live in it. We just have to slow down enough to breathe in and exhale into it.

The Healing Power of Animals by Cindy Huff & Terri Noftsger

Many of us find our best connection with Spirit/ Universe/God when we are outside in a natural setting such as a park or even our own backyard. By just being outside and allowing the connection to the Universe to naturally occur, healing of our minds, spirits and bodies can happen. In the same way, we can find healing and peace by simply sitting with our pets and connecting with them. This connection brings us closer to nature. It also allows the healing love of animals to flow through us. Have you ever been sitting on the floor or on your couch feeling down or tired, and had one of your pets quietly come and sit beside you or on your lap? Have you noticed that if you relax and just “be with them, that you begin to feel better? It is an amazing experience if you allow yourself to be open to their love. Our animals love us unconditionally, and they are very forgiving of our shortcomings. They naturally want to help us when we are sick or unhappy because of this unconditional love.

12

One of the more unique experiences I have had involves an iguana that lived with us for a time. Her name was Kazel. One day Terri was cleaning her cage and she asked me to watch Kazel. I was in the mood for a nap, so I laid down on the bed and put Kazel on the bed next to me. I promptly dozed off. When I awoke, she was lying on me with her head on my shoulder and her eyes closed. I guess she needed a nap too, but I also think she sensed that I needed to connect and feel her companionship. Often when I am sad or discouraged, I will go out and see my horse. I put her in her stall with some hay and sit in a chair in front of her stall opening. I just sit there quietly. She will at times come over and rest her head close to me and just hang out. Without fail I always feel at peace after sitting with her for a while. She loves and trusts me, and she holds space with me when I need that. Horses have such beautiful, healing energy.

Autumn Rain 2020

Right now some of us may be feeling anxious and unsettled. Our country is dealing with multiple crises– a pandemic that is isolating us from each other socially, wildfires and hurricanes, an unstable economy, job loss, and a major election. Now more than ever we need to allow our animals to love and support us. Consider taking a walk with your dog on a nature trail if you are close to one, or in your neighborhood. Sit in a sunny spot inside the house for a bit with your cat. Talk to your bird. Just connect. I took a ride in a beautiful park up in Dayton on Monday with a friend. It was so very beautiful there, and so peaceful to just walk along and enjoy the gentle sway of the horse and the slight breeze through the trees. I came away from that feeling peaceful and truly grateful that I am able to do something like that. Take care of yourself and each other, and allow your pets to help you!

BTestimonial aker Chiropractic Skeptics Make The Best Patients – I Am Amazed At How Much Better I Feel!

didn’t know at that point how true that statement would be! After a few visits to Doctor Baker, I was feeling remarkably better. After a few weeks I canceled my appointments with the surgeon and in a few more weeks felt almost as good as new. Today I go back a few times a month for maintenance adjustments and believe a healthy spine leads to a healthy life. I couldn’t really believe how quickly I had felt better and despite by skepticism, how much I now believed in this practice. I am often amazed at how much better I feel from something I was once so skeptical about. I’m glad I wasn’t too stubborn to make that phone call and have an open mind because it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Glen Garvin and Dr. Patrick I wanted to take a moment to chronicle my story of healing and ongoing restoration. A year ago, I called Dr. Baker’s office out of desperation. I was in incredible neck pain and had already been to my primary care doctor who referred me to a neck and back specialist with the idea I would be heading for surgery. So, with little hope… but lots of pain, I figured I’d try anything to ease my pain. My thought at the time was even if it would be temporary, I would see a chiropractor just until I could schedule a consultation and surgery (there was at least a month wait for an appointment). I was definitely a skeptic… in fact, my normal reaction to chiropractor care would be mockery! Doc Baker said, “skeptics make the best patients”. I

And, finally, any one who has ever visited would be able to tell you: The positive energy and hope exuded by every employee and most patients is contagious and uplifting. They are definitely, “Healing Spines, One Day at a Time” but they are also doing so with an eternal purpose and uplifting people’s lives in general when they do it.* Sincerely, Glen Garvin Mason, OH *Please note, there is no guarantee of specific results with our care and results may vary. The Great Pumpkin

Not Just a Jack O’ Lantern!

One of the first signs that can remind us of Fall, is our search for that perfect pumpkin. Activities and fun filled events include a trip to a pumpkin patch, to carve and create a unique Jack 0’ Lantern, typically for Halloween. A variety of winter squash, the pumpkin and seeds have been used by the Native American cultures since ancient times. Are we aware of the pumpkin’s unique healing qualities? It is packed full of antioxidant vitamins A, C and E, and many valuable minerals, including zinc. Pumpkin seeds are armed with amino and essential fatty acids, including fiber, and four times the amount of beta carotene that is found in carrots. Pumpkin seeds have been used as a soothing diuretic and to help relieve an irritable bladder. They have also been used as an effective treatment for enlarged prostate. There are two uncommon amino acids found in the seeds. Cucurbitin, which has been one of the

most efficient remedies for killing intestinal parasites, and Myosin, the primary protein constituent of nearly all muscles in the body, which is important in the chemistry of muscle contraction. Pumpkin seeds have been helpful to alleviate the painful symptoms of gout, and reduce swelling of the knees and ankles. Like the seeds, the fruit of the pumpkin, that is used in a variety of dishes, is one of the best sources of carotenoids, antioxidants that reduce the risk of cancer. There are so many ways to use pumpkin for cooking and baking. The seeds can be roasted for a tasty and healthy snack. Pumpkin pie has been one of the most traditional pies of the season, especially for the holiday of Thanksgiving. With an abundance of nutrients that pumpkins provide, the benefits make it the “Emperor of the garden,” appropriately named by the Chinese.

RRutabagas! ooting for What is a Rutabaga? Many people may have heard about this root vegetable, but their may be some who may not be aware of this nutrient enriched veggie. Rutabagas are popular in Northern Europe and are also known as “swedes or a Swedish turnip. This vegetable can be described as a cross between a cabbage and a turnip. This veggie is packed with vitamins and minerals making it a healthy alternative to potatoes. An excellent source of antioxidants, rutabagas have been shown to reduce inflammation, preventing certain types of cancer. One powerful antioxidant found in rutabagas is vitamin C, this helps to prevent premature aging. The fiber in one medium rutabaga is around 9 grams. Adding these veggies to your diet will help prevent weight gain and can promote healthy gut bacteria that is linked to many health benefits.

16

Rutabagas are high in potassium, which is important in maintaining heart health, lowering risk of stroke and high blood pressure. Rutabagas can strengthen the immune system, as there is a moderate amount of zinc found in them resulting in keeping your system strong. Rich in proteins, this root vegetable can actually boost your metabolism which is essential for the body to function properly. Similar to cabbage, rutabagas have a slightly bitter and peppery flavor but when eaten raw are milder and have a sweet, earthy taste. When cooked they become more savory and are delicious roasted or baked in a casserole dish. Rutabagas may have a wax coating on the skin so it is important to peel them, the leaves are also edible and can be cooked the same as preparing collard greens

Tare oday’s Feelings Yesterday’s News by Jill Mattson We interact with people, notice when they hurt us, or annoy us. We evaluate situations: “I like this and not that.” We form judgments and make our choices, but is it that simple? In an example, Sam went to a Thai restaurant, and since Sam didn’t like another Thai restaurant a year ago, Sam is poised not to like this one either. In another situation, Joe lectured Sam many times on the righteousness of his political party. Unknown to Sam, Joe has been minimizing his overzealous opinions. Yet, Sam avoids Joe. If Sam had been open, he and Joe might have enjoyed a great conversation. Somewhere Sam stopped listening to Joe and was unable to register any changes in Joe’s behavior. He is not even aware that he shut the door between Joe and himself. When we make a choice, we create an imprint in our thinking. We wear our imprinted thinking 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our habits are who we are. We do something a certain way, and in time that is the only way that it is done. Improvements to accomplish this task are wrong. Did we build plexiglass funnels that we can’t see, and our thoughts automatically conform to past patterns of past opinions and perceptions? The crazy part is that we are not even conscious of this process. We get angry with a friend of ours. Hours later, we realize they sounded like someone else who had hurt us. Did we unconsciously react the way we did in the past situation? Did old anger pop up in a second before we were even aware of it? Did we automatically transfer old feelings of resentment to a new condition? We are being automated! Have we etched resentment into our thinking pattern, and now we are hard wired to see a reason to be resentful no matter what? Resentful is not a choice but a habit, a hardwired thinking pattern. We love the music that we listened to as a teenager

18

and hate the “junk” young people listen to. We can’t derive enjoyment from new music because we already attached pleasure to the oldies. Why do we limit our choices? How do we clear the cobwebs in our rational thinking and allow ourselves to experience the world anew? To make a new choice? Although death stops the old thinking patterns, can we change our minds easier? Can we learn to enjoy a new type of food, person, or experience that we love? Music allows flexibility and flow of thinking and feeling. Explore a genre that is new to you. Experience music without judgment. Why do your kids like this music? Focus on enabling a fresh emotion to surface with a unique experience. Step back and observe your habits. What are your emotional and mental patterns? For example, do you want to be angry with every new situation? You must focus on the desired change many times to gain a new habit. Lots of will power required. Put your energy into deciding who you want to be. Then select experiences and options throughout the day that sculpt this person. We think we are not experiencing emotions when we are doing our taxes, we are not conscious of our feelings, as our attention is on arithmetic and filling out a form. Our feelings are active, whether or not we are aware of them. Our emotions are habits. What we-think-and-feel-all-day-long becomes who we are. No breaks. No exceptions. Our feelings are yesterday’s news and not reacting to what is going on at the moment. They are stuck energies within. Invisible, but in our face, they are there. Music comes to the rescue again: cathartic music. The Healing Flower Symphonies creatively take you into the dark side of each emotion (such as impatience versus patience) as a cathartic release – cleansing emotional baggage. Whatever is repressed has power over us; we have been trained since our earliest years to suppress negative emotions. These do not vanish

Autumn Rain 2020

but show up as outward negative energy, such as anger or aggression, or an inward force manifesting as depression, insecurity, or illness. The antidote is to feel your pain – it allows a release. This is why grieving works. This isn’t as frightening or as painful as you think. It will not destroy you. Within a surprisingly brief time, the pain will dissipate. Simply listen to music and let it help you feel free. People overwhelmingly report the release of unpleasant emotional baggage while listening to The Healing Flower Symphonies. Many experienced negative emotions pass out of their energy fields while listening. This is not a pleasant moment. The Healing Flower Symphonies are not for “pansies.” Others were not aware of their energy fields but disliked the cathartic music for a brief time. Repeated listening is like peeling an onion – layer after layer of negative energy is removed. To develop a positive outlook, it is not enough to maintain positive feelings. It won’t habitually stick unless you first discharge negativity. We need a catharsis. The music of The Healing Flower Symphonies transforms negative energy into a virtue, which is a feeling. To make a habit of a virtuous feeling, we must feel it over and over again. What could do that more easily than music? Pick who you want to be and listen to the music that creates those habits. Little to no will power required. No medicine or compounds required. Best of all, it is enjoyable and free.

When Seasons Change in Relationships by Jody Johnston Pawel, LSW, CFLE

Every season has a reason, a special beauty, and a special gift it brings. Relationships do too. Every relationship goes through changes, just as many trees go through changes each season. You and your relationships aren’t meant to be static and unchanging, but to grow and evolve. Yet, when relationships or others change, it can feel like a failure. We needn’t take it personal, however, if we look for the reason, beauty, and gift each relationship brings or has brought. By doing so, the life cycle of a relationship reveals a process that unfolds, revealing another step on your path to greater self-growth, for your highest good. There are many kinds of relationships and life cycles, and each reveals its special reason, beauty, and gift, if we only look beneath the surface, beyond circumstances and personalities. Think about someone you met only once, but you connected with so quickly that it made an impression on

20

you. Remembering that person now, today, you still smile. These folks are like visitors from our spiritual community, briefly touching us to remind us we aren’t alone on this earthly journey. Though brief, sometimes that brush of a touch can be profound. These earth angels remind us that we are always connected to others, even if they aren’t meant to be part of our daily lives. While we often wish we could stay close to them, fate has other plans, so we feel grateful for what we had, however brief. It’s nothing personal. When relationships have shallow roots, they may last a long time but be superficial, like acquaintances you don’t know well. While not a close relationship, it doesn’t mean that person isn’t important. Smiling and saying “Hi” reminds us we are on this journey together, but don’t necessarily have lessons to learn from each other. When the winds of change blow, these relationships may fade away without much notice or sense of loss. We often still remember with a smile what was.

Autumn Rain 2020

Some relationships grow deeper, but are there for just a season, often to serve a particular reason. Maybe you needed a friend during a rough time. Or when you met someone you were in one place (physically, emotionally, spiritually), but now you are in a different place and the relationship no longer feels like a good fit or no longer serves your highest good. Or maybe circumstances changed that were out of your control. When these relationships end, you may feel sad, are able to lovingly let them go, because it feels right for each person to move on. Other deep relationships last long enough to bear luscious fruit, like a big old oak tree might. As each person grows and changes, however, they can grow apart or feel like each isn’t getting the sunshine or rain it needs due to over-crowding in the forest. It can be hard for each person to grow in the direction they are being led while still staying connected. When this happens, people sometimes choose to pull back and make the relationship more superficial, or transplant themselves somewhere that’s better for their growth, with or without staying connected to the other person. When others do this suddenly, without obvious cause or an explanation, it can be confusing and hurtful. Unfortunately, many people don’t know how to handle these kinds of feelings openly and honestly or might not even understand themselves well enough to explain it. Just know, these changes are always about growth and the paths people choose on their journey. If they leave the relationship, it’s not about you, so don’t take it personal, even if they try to make it so. You can still gain the lesson, the blessing, the gifts, and savor the beauty the relationship once had. When relationships have deep roots, especially over many years, like with family or life partners, they are serving a very special divine purpose in our lives. Often, we are there to learn big life lessons from each other or to fulfill an unspoken soul contract. Sometimes you grow together and as you learn your lessons the relationship changes for the better. Other times the changes can tear you apart. When these deeper relationships decline or die, it can be very painful and sad. It can take time to grieve the loss. Remembering and being grateful for what you learned from the relationship can make it easier to release it in love and use it for growth. It’s important to remember that relationships always

Infinity

reflect who we are back to us, so we tend to choose people who reflect what we want to see in ourselves. Sometimes we realize that’s not what we really want, that’s not who they really are, or we grow and evolve but they don’t. That’s okay because healthy trees don’t grow entwined, dependent on the other person’s root system. They stand strong on their own, reaching out to others to give and get support, protection, shade, or to share its fruit. Each is reaching for the sky, taking a unique path. It’s not for us to judge another’s path or choices, but to focus on our own self-growth. These are the times it is helpful to recognize that what we judge in others is often what needs healed in us. That doesn’t mean if you judge someone to be rude and hurtful you are rude and hurtful. It might mean, though, that in your past others have been rude and hurtful to you and this person’s conduct reminds you of that hurt, which needs healed. By looking at the people and circumstances of our relationships from a perspective of non-judgment and see that whatever is not in alignment with Joy and Inner Peace is what healed, we can more easily find the reason, season, beauty and gift it holds for our selfgrowth.

Honey Beats Traditional Treatment for Respiratory Infections by Dr. Joeseph Mercola The medical term to describe the common cold is an upper respiratory infection (URI). This is often caused by a virus that infects your nose, throat and mouth. There are more than 200 different viruses responsible, with rhinoviruses being the most common.1 In one cross-sectional study published in 2016, scientists in India analyzed the incidence of URIs in rural and urban populations.2 There were a total of 3,498 people checked during the study, out of which 287 had an upper respiratory infection at the time. Children were infected more often than adults, especially those younger than 5. Antibiotic prescriptions are not recommended for children or adults with a common cold because those medications treat bacterial, rather than viral infections. The CDC recommends focusing on symptomatic relief, as:3 “There is potential for harm and no proven benefit from over-the-counter cough and cold medications in children < 6 years. These substances are among the top 20 substances leading to death in children < 5 years.” Honey Is Superior Treatment for URIs Although children are infected more commonly than adults with the cold virus, it continues to be the third-most frequent diagnosis for adults who sometimes get between two and four colds each year.7 The CDC recommends that adults treat their symptoms with decongestants and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories. The use of antihistamines on their own, intranasal corticosteroids and opioids are not supported by scientific evidence. Even though the majority of URIs are the result of a viral infection, acute respiratory tract infections continue to be the most common reason antibiotics are prescribed for adults.8 The Mayo Clinic recommends specific at-home treatments:9 •Drinking plenty of fluids •Eating chicken soup •Controlling the room temperature and humidity •Using saltwater gargle to soothe your throat •Using saline nasal drops to relieve congestion •Using over-the-counter cold and cough medications for symptomatic relief •Resting

22

While over-the-counter (OTC) medications are not regarded as effective for children younger than 6, in a Cochrane Review of the literature it’s noted that although many preparations have only minor side effects in adults, they may not work any better than a placebo.10 The authors of a recent review of the literature sought to evaluate how honey stacked up against usual care and antibiotics for symptomatic relief in adults with upper respiratory infections. The scientists included 14 studies in which cough frequency, cough severity and symptom scores were compared. They concluded:11 “Honey was superior to usual care for the improvement of symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections. It provides a widely available and cheap alternative to antibiotics. Honey could help efforts to slow the spread of antimicrobial resistance, but further high quality, placebo controlled trials are needed.” The results of this study support past data with similar results. In one Italian study involving 134 children with a nonspecific cough, researchers compared the use of multiple doses of honey to the use of dextromethorphan and levodropropizine, two the more commonly prescribed OTC cough medications in Italy.12 The children were given either a mixture of milk and wildflower honey or a dose of one of the medications, based on the group they were assigned to. The researchers found that the milk and honey mixture was at least as effective as the medications. Honey Reduces Nighttime Cough in Children In an earlier study, the effectiveness of honey was compared to that of dextromethorphan in 105 children with URIs who had been sick for seven days or less. The researchers found that honey performed the best and parents rated it more favorably.13 Another group of researchers compared the effectiveness of dextromethorphan and diphenhydramine to that of honey. They were interested in whether the treatments reduced coughing associated with URIs that made it difficult to sleep. One hundred thirty-nine children were split into four groups, receiving either honey, dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine or supportive care. The study team found that a 2.5 ml dose of honey at bedtime relieved more coughs than the other treatments. Interestingly, there was no statistical difference in the effectiveness of dextromethorphan versus diphenhydramine.14

Autumn Rain 2020

According to the authors of a paper published in the Canadian Family Physician, in a given week, one or more OTC products are used by more than 50% of children who are younger than 12.15 Cough and cold medications account for most of them. Based on the results of a meta-analysis, scientists demonstrated there was no evidence for or against the use of OTC medications.16 In another clinical trial an Egyptian team enrolled 100 children ages 5 and younger who were coughing because of a URI. The intervention group received cough medicine with a combination of honey and lemon.17

expanded the definition of antibiotic-resistant deaths and concluded that 153,113 deaths could have been attributed to multidrug-resistant organisms. These reports drive home what experts have warned us about for decades — bacteria are continuing to evolve and mutate so they can survive. As more and more antibiotics are used in health care and in agriculture, they become less and less effective and we become increasingly vulnerable to antibiotic-resistant infections.

The researchers found that the children who were given honey and lemon experienced greater relief than those who only got the medication. Many OTC medications carry potential risks for children, including both insomnia and drowsiness.

Mercola, J. “Honey Beats Traditional Treatment for Respiratory Infections” Retrieved September 24, 2020, from https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/ archive/2020/09/14/honey-beats-traditional-treatmentfor-respiratory-infections.aspx

Taken together, the results from all of these studies suggest that honey works as well as dextromethorphan and diphenhydramine. It’s also safer. However, it shouldn’t be used in children younger than 1 year old because it can contain dormant clostridium botulinum, which can lead to infantile botulism.

____________________

For this reason, it’s important not to give children younger than 1 year any products that contain honey. The author of a paper published in the Canadian Family Physician says that honey can be recommended “… as a single dose of 2.5 milliliters (one-half teaspoon) before bedtime for children older than 1 year of age with cough.”18 May Help Slow the Spread of Antibiotic Resistance A secondary benefit to using natural products like honey is it helps to slow the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The overuse of antibiotics is a contributing factor to the growth of superbugs.19 Researchers have suggested that education for parents20 and professionals21 can help reduce antibiotic misuse.

In one retrospective chart review, it was found that 64.2% of people with respiratory tract infections received inappropriate antibiotics, the most common of which were azithromycin, amoxicillin-clavulanate (Augmentin) and moxifloxacin.22 Interestingly, in this review, penicillin allergy and the presence of a cough were significant predictors of the inappropriate use of antibiotics. Some bacteria have developed a resistance to multiple antibiotics. The CDC estimates that “… more than 2.8 million antibiotic-resistant infections occur in the U.S. each year, and more than 35,000 people die as a result.”23 Some experts believe the actual numbers could be up to seven times higher.24 An infectious disease specialist from Washington University, Dr. Jason Burnham, along with two colleagues, surveyed data from 2010. The Wondrous Gifts of the Season of Change by Cynthia White Flower

The winds of change are upon us! Allow the autumn rains to nourish and cleanse our spirits as it clears and heals Mother Earth. The process is unfolding as nature paves the way and leads us to higher ground. Fall is the season of purging. Symbolically, we are shown that the energies, through the rain, washes away what was. The autumn rain provides an example for us to let the past be washed away. If we are angry, sad, or resentful, we are still living in the past. The Dalai Lama XIV teaches: “There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called Yesterday and the other is called Tomorrow. Today is the right day to Love, Believe, Do and mostly Live.” (1) To release that which keeps us from living, we must focus on the blessing of the moment. This moment is all that we have! Being consciously in this moment, in the now, is truly living. Our choices determine how we fill this blessed gift of now. The wonder of God lives within our Being. We have only to reach out and

24

touch it. Look into a mirror. Look deep into your eyes. Do you see God looking back at you? Look deeper. Look at how beautiful you are as the sparkle of life shines through you, from you, back to you. You are the wonder of life! Let this moment nourish your spirit. We have layers of emotions and thoughts that may not hold the energies for our highest good. We can use this moment to wash them from our lives. Release is necessary for transformation. To consciously “let go” gives the Universe permission to follow our lead. We can stand in the rain, physically or symbolically, and state that this emotion, this situation, this disappointment, “…is being washed from me now.” Feel it go. Feel the release. We can take it to a higher level by seeing the symbolic rain as purple, Freedoms’ forgiving, transmuting energy. We can feel a more lasting transformation as we use this spiritual gift. To clear the old is to make room for the new. We each have a divine destiny, a divine plan, a commitment

Autumn Rain 2020

that we made to something that IS uniquely ours to do that no one else can do. If we don’t do it, then the world is deprived of our very special gift. What is it? Do you know? Meditate. Ask. Fill this moment with selfdiscovery. Mathew: 7:7 recommends that we “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”(2) There is a beautiful Hindu proverb that reminds us, “There isn’t a tree in the world that the wind hasn’t shaken.” (3) This beautiful metaphor reminds us that no one escapes life’s challenges. It is our resilience that propels us. We can use this moment to heal. Jesus’ statement from John, 11:25 teaches us: “I am the resurrection and the life.” (4) We are taught to keep rising and to keep manifesting life. We can be new. We have this moment to rise. We have this moment to affirm our liberation from that which no longer serves our highest good. We can affirm, “I disengage from all victimizing energies now. I call back my light, my life force, my energy and my power and all that I am.” Take this moment to become purely you! A positive attitude pushes us further. Paramahansa Yogananda recommends that we “Awaken the innate fortitude of the mind by affirming: “No matter what experiences come, I am always happy. My experiences cannot touch me.” (5) Become the master of yourself by filling the moment with that which helps you to rise. Open the doors to the season of change and all of its many wondrous gifts.

Awakening to Love in a Time of Fear by Marianne Splenda, MEd “What the world needs now, is love, sweet love… not just for some but for everyone…” These song lyrics reverberate throughout my mind while my heart aches as I read the daily headlines about the ever-increasing numbers of people across the United States and around the globe who have contracted the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease which is killing some but not others and no one seems to know why. This disease seems to be polarizing people more than ever: some rise to compassionate acts of heroism to protect and heal, while others are selfishly and flagrantly disregarding the needs of a community. A few weeks ago, all of us made many small decisions without a second thought, e.g., ‘I need to run to the store to buy __’ (fill in the blank). But not now— every decision, even going to the store, carries a possible life or death risk. I see a new word, “Moral fatigue,” creeping to our vocabulary that addresses such decisions. So where are you turning for your guidance? IMPORTANCE OF INNER GUIDANCE Many of us know the importance of turning inward for our guidance and like myself may have needed an additional opportunity to practice our faith. Before March 2020 my days and calendar were filled with many “to do” tasks to accomplish. On March 11th, I left my home in California, to the A.R.E. headquarters in Virginia Beach for a few days of meetings. Afterwards, I was scheduled to fly to JFK in New York City and then on to Cairo, Egypt as co-leader of the Acoustical Pyramid Tour of Egypt where we were prepared to play and record the healing sounds of the Acoustical Pyramid in the Great Pyramid and other temples. Oh yes, I had protective gloves, a mask and I had even made a solution of “Thieves Oil” for physical protection on this tour, but I had not yet fully foreseen the magnitude of the international response to this virus and its effect on my life. My co-leader and I were determined not to base our decision to go or not go on the basis of fear but rather chose to put our faith in our spiritual guidance. Well,

26

in the quiet of the evening of March 14th, after each of us had checked into our separate flights to JFK, the Creative Forces sent each of us a very clear and strong message: “STOP!” “DO NOT GO!” Luckily, we heeded those messages and we cancelled the tour that night. You may be asking: Why did this take you so long to make that decision? As I look back, this experience felt to me a test of faith and that we indeed had passed the test. Do you have a similar story? THE EDGAR CAYCE INFORMATION Now, more than ever, this is a time to turn or return to the Edgar Cayce information with the remembrance that the “Spanish Flu” of 1918 occurred during his lifetime (1877–1945); therefore, many of the trance health readings are pertinent today. Additionally, many of us have copies of “A Search for God,” volumes 1 and 2, and now is certainly a time to pull them off your book self and review the 24 chapters to see if one or more of those chapters is calling for your attention. Many of us have been ordered to stay-athome so we have more time to pray, meditate, and find ways to reach out to others through simple acts of kindness, even if it is a simple prayer. From my perspective this pandemic is offering us a chance to grow spiritually both as individuals and as a collective consciousness. Maybe it’s time to learn how to BE. It is my hope that we individually and collectively come out of this experience with more love, more compassion, and with better ways to act as our brother’s keepers. I only have limited space here to mention a few ideas to assist us in this transformation, if we choose to accept the challenge. NOT BY CHANCE: Edgar Cayce reminded us that any experience is not by chance. “For each soul-entity enters a material experience not by chance but as a purposefulness, - fulfilling that whereunto it has been promised that He hath not willed that any soul should perish, but that each

should know and become aware of its relationships to Creative Forces.” -Edgar Cayce reading 1767-2 So, if we believe these words, can we use this pandemic experience to create a closer relationship with God and the Creative Forces? LETTING GO OF FEAR AND ANXIETY: If you find yourself cloaked in fear, what does one do? To understand the origins of fear, Cayce stated in reading 254-85 that— “REMEMBER, my children, it is the FEAR of the material conditions that wrecks the material body. It is the FEAR of this or that, that prevents a channel from making for the greater supply.” Clearly, we are instructed to mitigate our fear(s) to further our spiritual growth. This fear will be different for each of us, but I would like to share a spiritual practice that I find especially practical. It was given to me by the spirit guide, Dr. Pebbles, who is channeled by Natalie Gianelli and it goes like this: Identify the fear Sit and take 3 to 5 deep breaths from your diaphragm In the quiet for about 10 to 15 seconds Ask your heart, “Heart, what would you have me do?” Listen to the suggestion made by your heart Act on this information. Once we find ourselves in our heart-centered intelligence, we will feel peace and we can understand and find solace that “As has been given, “Fear not.” Keep the faith; for those that be with thee are greater than those that would hinder.”

and Anxiety, by High Lynn Cayce. To download this digital book, go to the Helpful Resources for Overcoming, Fear, Anxiety, and Stress page. OPEN TO THE BEAUTY OF NATURE I’ve been wondering - what does it mean to be a ‘human be—ing’? To me, the energies of the beauties of nature are very real and they fill my soul with love and peace. As this pandemic has stopped us in our tracks, take time to feel the oneness with these Creative Forces. Listen to the songbirds singing. From a rocking chair on the porch of my son’s house in North Carolina I can hear a bird shouting: “Pre—tty; Pre—tty.” I see the limbs of the trees unfolding with new blossoms of white or pink. If COVID-19 had not stopped me in my tracks, I would not have had these experiences. Truly it has given me a wonderful sense of divine love filling my heart and my whole being. Now, I find myself just ‘being’ rather than busy ‘doing’ tasks. As Edgar Cayce told an individual: “Have more and more of Nature and of God’s outdoors…For each blade of grass, each blossom, each tree, each crag, each mountain, each river, each lake is a gift from the Creative Forces in [humankind’s] experience that he may know more of the love of God.” -Edgar Cayce reading 1248-1 BE A CHANNEL OF BLESSINGS Not all of us are called to be a health-care professional during this pandemic but we can reach out to each other. We are reminded: “To be a channel of blessing to others is that purpose for which each soul has come into conscious activity in a material world.” (3161-1). We can take heart from these words and act on them.

-Edgar Cayce reading 294-185 For additional support, the A.R.E. is offering a free digital book on the subject of fear, Overcoming Fear

Healing Time on Earth by Angels of Seven as Transmitted to Rev. Marcia Cantrell At this time in Earth’s history as Earthling’s would say, is the most important time since the beginning. There has never been a time that is as crucial as now for healing on this planet. Earthlings must know to realize where you are in the bigger agenda that is at stake. More than once in your recent history your star brothers and sisters have stepped forward when the Galactic governing body was to call an end to Earth due to all the evil that was taking place. I speak of evil as the atomic power, humans against humans and most of all, the turning away from God, your creator. The star brothers and sisters asked for more time to work with earthlings to stop the beloved planet from being destroyed. Brothers and sisters open your ears as we share with you the healing of Earth and its inhabitants that still needs to happen in order for you to ascend when the beloved planet is ready. There are those among you who have been, and are still in the darkness of this third dimensional world who have not begun the process of healing their soul. Many do not recognize

(Continued from pg. 27) they have a soul. So many have carried with them the karma of their choices through the cycle of death and birth for thousands of years. Sadly to say, many will continue this cycle for the next 26,000 years while many of you will have healed your past karma and will ascend when the time is here. Ascension is the conclusion of healing. Letting go of anger and fear that frees you to forgive and not judge, but to feel love for others. To commune with God, the Elementals and all of God’s creations. I say to you this is a time of much confusion. The darkness is using all its power of lies and trickery to hold on to what it has always held, the key to false pretenses, greed, murder and the worst of evil atrocities one can imagine. They have ruled and now this darkness will be replaced by Light. The Light of God. This is the time to use discernment to understand what is true and what is not true. Ask for help and you will receive it. My brothers and sisters, we deeply encourage you to evaluate your healing journey. Look deep into your heart, your heart holds answers. Is there still something that needs to be forgiven? This is Healing Time on Earth. We thank the Editor for the opportunity to share this transmission through our Beloved Sister to all those who read this. Angels of Seven About the Author: Marcia is an ordained minister of the Seminary of Spiritual Peacemaking founded by James Twyman. So, let us spend this time in developing a closer walk with the Creative Forces and loving one another. It has been said that “perfect love casteth out fear” so let us go forth together, supporting each other at this time. Be a light in the darkness. Allow more love into your life.

How to Observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month 1. Share a story Cancer survivors, family members, caregivers and medical professionals have a chance to share their perspectives on how cancer impacts their lives. Do an online search of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and you'll discover various organizations that have links to social media blogs, video platforms and more. Upload your story and feel proud that you are one more voice of victory against this disease. 2. Think pink Pink is the color du jour for October's campaign. Some people change their website's background colors to pink for the month. Others rummage through their closets and pull out pink everything — sweaters, scarves, hats, gloves, entire outfits — even wigs! Many workplaces hold Pink Days to encourage coworkers to get involved in the fight against breast cancer. 3. Raise some money October is the primary fundraising month for Breast Cancer Awareness and whatever you give is appreciated. Hold a raffle, coordinate a talent show or simply write a check. It all helps to fund life-saving cancer research. Large corporations use October to make mega-sized donations. On the smaller scale, fill up a dozen pink piggy banks and make your donation.
