Brushstroke is an easy-to-use iPhone app that allows you to turn the photos on your phone into paintings. It was free when I installed it a few years ago, but now it looks like it costs a few dollars to buy. It’s worth it, in my opinion. It offers more than 50 different presets in a wide variety of painting styles, including watercolour, acrylic, oil, lead pencil, gloss, and abstract. Simply open your photo in the app, and select the style that you want to apply. You can then adjust the intensity, contrast, saturation, and many other factors to achieve just the look you want, whether it be subtle or well defined. It’s fun to play with and can give a special picture that extra-special touch. DREAM Connie Nichol, Sherwood Park, Alberta SUPPLIES: Picket Fence Studios stencil and stamp, Prima Marketing wooden embellishment, Brea Reese watercolor glitter ink, Zebra Pen Sarasa pen, EK Success punch, Ranger Dylusions paint and Archival ink, Elmer’s Rubber cement, unknown cardstock and watercolour paper, Glue Dots Adhesives, Brushstroke App.
