CITYBREAK // BULLITT

BULLITT // CITYBREAK

AFTER THE EXTENSIVE LONG periods of closures, restrictions, and lockdowns, it is so great to see the return of hospitality. With foreign travel frowned upon Staycations are in high demand, this review brings us to the trendy no-nonsense Bullitt Hotel, with 74 rooms their philosophy is simple, having ditched the over-the-top extras they are able to deliver a quality service with no hidden costs, smack bang in the middle of Belfast City Centre. -Offering 3 choices of rooms Dinky, Comfy, Roomy The Dinky room is small but perfectly formed with everything you need for a comfy hotel stay without any of the nonsense. No swan towels or trouser presses – just outrageously comfortable king size beds, refreshing rain showers, super-fast Wi-Fi and seriously-smart TVs. In their Comfy room, cosy up on your king-size bed and watch YouTube videos with your free Wi-Fi, you’ll be snug as a technologically advanced bug! Our comfy rooms range in size from 15sqm to 20sqm. We also have comfy twins for those who like to share but don’t want to snuggle! Or if you want to treat yourself

to some extra leg room –The Roomy option is the one for you boasting 35m squared to be precise. Perfect for storing sizeable suitcases and having impromptu dance-offs. A Roomy comes with all the usual Bullitt perks. -We arrived around 2.30pm and enjoyed a drink in the lobby while the finishing touches were done to our room, the sun was splitting the trees, so we decided to chill in the Courtyard and get a few rays, I think we waited around 30 minutes before being invited to the check in desk. Staff were so helpful and informative, giving us info about breakfast and checkout and even manged to get us a table booked for Babel Rooftop Bar with no prior notice. When arranging our Stay with Ciara we made no specific room requests so were surprised to discover that room 221 was in fact one of their Roomy suites, so spacious, tastefully decorated with amazing panoramic views, we were on the corner and overlooked Anne Street. Seeing the bustling street below with shoppers had us momentarily transported to a world away from Covid, it was great. In the room there was a

welcome drink waiting for us, complimentary cans of Edinburgh Rhubarb and Ginger flavoured Gin which were displayed in cute mugs with the message “A Cheeky wee Gin” I thought this was a lovely added touch, and in honesty they did not last long lol. After unpacking we freshened up and headed to the rooftop, we were so lucky as not only did we not request prior to arrival it was also Father’s Day, so the place was particularly busy, we enjoyed a cocktail and was kindly given a tour of the private area, the inside bar and their super cool living wall which is used for all herbs etc used in the drinks. After spending time exploring the city and probably consuming to much vino we returned to the hotel, I’ll hazard a guess and say it was around 1am, a nightcap is probably the last thing we needed though being more than attentive the night staff arranged this for us. Our King-size bed was so comfy we passed out waking with just enough time for a quick wash before breakfast, my stomach wasn’t really in a good place so I played it safe and ordered eggs on toast, it was lovely, eggs were soft served on a lovely

sourdough toast my guest Emma ordered the Full Bullitt with a side of spicy beans, it had all the usual candidates, Sausage, smoked bacon, black and white pudding, mushrooms, eggs and sourdough toast, she was well pleased, I even pinched a spoonful of the spicy beans, they were so good, once we finished up it was time to grab our bags and checkout. Our stay was short though we cannot fault a thing, from front of house, waiting staff/servers, the cleaners, everyone we had dealings with was genuinely helpful and pleasant, thank you for being so accommodating. Bullitt hotel offers so much more than just a bed for the night! With an award-winning restaurant, laid back lobby, rooftop garden and even a secret cocktail lounge…Bullitt really is the perfect place to STAY, PLAY and WORK.
